Quick question:

All of my scabs came off around 10 to 13 days post-op. However recently, I have had a few new scabs pop up in the last 3/4 days. I am 3 weeks post-op. Has anyone had similar experiences and should I be worried?

I went in this week for my follow up and the Dr. said there is nothing to worry about.

Hmm very interesting i've never herd of this and judging from the lack of answers it must be rare. I was completely healed and scabbed of by 16 days and obviously at that point there's nothing left to bleed and produce more scabs.

Coach, are they starting out pimple like? I had a few of those as well and have read that it is part of the healing process, really haven't given them much thought myself.

Given Dr Vogel examined you and said it was expected I'd say you have nothing to worry about.

I've never had that happen to me or heard of that happening to anybody else. Maybe some scabs came off prematurely and new ones formed in their place?

Yes, they are starting off like pimples. My scabs were off between day 10 and day 14, and I haven't had any problems at all. So I know the grafts must be securely in there.

You're OK. I've had a few of them too and about the same time frame as you as well. You have a good doctor, and as I've stated before he was able to examine you on your follow up and gave you the OK - I'd take him at his word.

Coach, just did a forum search on 'pimples' and there is a ton of info out there if you're interested in looking at it. Read a couple of them. Very normal, and even expected at this point. Here is one of the first threads that came up on the search and also has a response from a technician at a recommended clinic. Enjoy your new hair!

I agree, you should be fine. The recipient sites heal at different rates. The scabs that re-formed may be a result of those recipient sites that were larger and possibly were not completely healed on the surface. There may have been a little surface bleeding form those incision sites and simply formed a new scab.

In no time, they will all be gone. Happy growth in the future!
