Senior Member orangehair Posted September 30, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted September 30, 2010 This patient goes back a few years with us. Prior to our intervention, he had undergone a few treatments in the late 80’s & early 90’s with an outside provider that was using standard punch grafts and mini grafts at the time. As evidenced by the photos, his result was not natural, the hairline being pluggy and too vertical in orientation. He also had open donor areas as well as wide strip scars on the right and left sides. Dr. True initially did two mini-strip sessions - smaller due to the extensive scarring from the previous surgeries elsewhere. At the same time, FUE was used to to thin the punch grafts. 2708 grafts were place into the interior of the hairline and central front/top. Dr. True then made the necessary transition to pure FUE harvesting with focus on softening the hairline edge and adding to the forelock region. Hair was also added to the donor area to improve the strip scars from the treatments the patient had before us. Ultimately 2 FUE sessions totaling 1674 grafts were performed. Overall, @8300 hairs were transplanted to achieve a more acceptable and natural appearance for this patient. VP Patient & Media Relations for The Hair Loss Doctors by Robert J. Senior Member aaron1234 Posted October 4, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted October 4, 2010 Much better. Wow, that original scar was pretty nasty. Good repair work. He's fortunate he didn't bald further the past two decades.
