Senior Member RCWest Posted July 13, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted July 13, 2010 I've always wondered who has had the most grafts? I realize it's hair count that is the important factor, but doctors charge by the graft. I've read where Dr. Rassman did over 9000 on a 60+ year old man who was an NW7, and it was impressive. Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? Bill - Seemiller
RCWest, I know there are a few patients out there with over 10,000 grafts over a few procedures. I myself had about 9700 grafts in 4 procedures. All the Best, Bill
Senior Member RCWest Posted July 13, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 13, 2010 Those are amazing numbers Bill! And your density looks outstanding. Do you know if you possibly have any more donor hair left? Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? Senior Member RCWest Posted July 13, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 13, 2010 Most i've seen was 20k grafts by Dr Umar.:eek: Either he split them all into one or two hairs for some reason or that patient had HILACIOUS donor hair! Did it look like a true full head of hair? Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? Regular Member Davis Posted July 15, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted July 15, 2010 20k grafts via fue? How much does he charge per graft? and over how many sessions? Thats anywhere from $175-$200k! If he puts another 3k into his crown and another 1500 or so at the hairline to make it look stronger.. he will have just about no signs of HL.. That's pretty damn crazy! Aside from the above two questions, any way to find out what the graft survival rate was? On a personal note I am at roughly 6,500 grafts roughly 1k with karamikian in 05 (although it looks more like 500-750) Had a follow up with Dr Feller to fix Karamikians crap, roughly 3k Then another 2,500 or so with Dr Feller... I have roughly 3k left in my donor area. Which is why I want to start looking into beard hair as well, maybe another 3-4k? if I can place roughly 750 into the strip area Between beard and donor that leaves roughly 6k. another 4k into the crown and 2k for the mid section over 3-4 sessions? Keep it at roughly a #5 guard on top and I will be a happy camper.. So who has an extra $50k laying around? First transplant with karamikian 6/05, less than 1000 to my hairline, result was mediocre at best. 2nd HT with Feller 2/08, 3000+ to my front third. Dr. Glenn Charles
I have a patient that between multiple strip and FUE procedure has received over 11,000 follicular unit grafts. He is actually now asking me about BHT. Lets just say he is slightly addicted. Does he have fine hair? Lots of scalp? I would imagine with 11,000 grafts done that his balding area wasn't "too" large? When you mention that the patient requires more. is it a matter of touching up certain spots that are a bit thinner than he prefers or does he have full on bald patches? Senior Member Jotronic Posted July 21, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted July 21, 2010 The 20K graft patient had mostly body hair. As far as head hair we have several patients past the 10,000 graft mark, with at least two in the 11K graft area, one with 12K grafts and I think one with 13K. All head hair and with strip and no not with massive scarring either.
