Regular Member Capelli Posted January 2, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted January 2, 2007 I recently had my first HT procedure. I want to thank all the members of this forum for all the information and insight regarding the HT process. As many before me have said, research and knowledge are the key in understanding the implications of having a HT. It is not a process to be taken lightly. I had my procedure in Vancouver on December 21 with Dr. Hasson. I received 4000 grafts in one session. Overall my experience was positive. I have a tight scalp and have some post operation numbness to my scalp. I had some swelling but it disappeared after about 5 days. I removed my staples (87) today and feel good. I am back to work tomorrow. I have started on proscar (every other day). I am not taking any other medication. I am 47 and my hair loss began in earnest in my mid to late thirties. I have attached before photos and photos after 7 days (the day I had my hair trimmed). I have included updated photos as of three months out (or 96 days to be exact). It looks like I had little or no shock loss of existing hair. I am starting to see the signs of some growth. This is where the fun begins. I am looking forward to a great summer. Senior Member NervousNelly Posted January 2, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted January 2, 2007 What a gifted physician. You are going to be ecstatic with the results as it looks like he has done a great job of everything. Four thousand FU will go a long way with the native hair you still have. Please keep us posted as it would be awesome to see the progression and compare the changes and timeframe relative to others that have had a similar # of FU with Dr. Hasson. Thanks for taking the time and effort to post. P.S. Were your pre-pictures all taken at the same time because they look like different color hair and varying densities. Maybe just the lighting? Regular Member Capelli Posted January 2, 2007 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 2, 2007 The photos were all taken at the same time at Dr. Hasson's office. Both the before, on Dec 21st and the post on Dec 28th. I will do my best to keep the photos updated for progress going forward.

Senior Member hairbank Posted January 3, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted January 3, 2007 Capelli- The work by Dr. H looks great...........4000 grafts in that area dense-packed should give you a nice appearance of density. I was the same as you starting the Proscar EOD regimen after my HT and it has been working some for me. If it helps you somewhat in the crown you should be good to go. Best of luck healing/growing! Regular Member Capelli Posted March 27, 2007 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 27, 2007 I have just included updated photos at the 3 month mark. Growth has begun and I am starting to see the hair line fill out. The numbness is pretty much gone in both the recipient and the donor area. I can see things just starting for you as you have a nice outline. In about 3-5 more months you won't even recognize yourself because you'll be a hairy beast! Regular Member Capelli Posted April 24, 2007 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 24, 2007 I have updated my photo album with 4 month photos. The hairline is starting to fill in. I can see the new hairs coming in at the temples. It seems like things are starting to happen but it is hard to tell when you look in the mirror every 5 minutes. Not sure if the proscar has kicked in yet. It has only been 4 months on the meds as well.
Senior Member hairbank Posted April 25, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted April 25, 2007 Capelli- Really looks good..............you're definitely coming along. Regular Member Capelli Posted April 25, 2007 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 25, 2007 Thanks Hairbank. Yeah it seems to be coming along. I have started to notice more hairs sprouting. I must say I am surprised at how quickly the changes kick in considering I had my procedure in December 2006. The numbness in both the recipient and donor area is now gone. Thus far no one has made any comments to me about my hair or the gradual changes that are occurring. Looking forward to month 5 and 6.

Senior Member NervousNelly Posted June 23, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted June 23, 2007 Capelli, Looks fantastic so far. There will be a pretty drastic cosmetic difference for you and I am certain that you will be overly pleased when all is complete. Give it another 6-8 months before totally evaluating everything as there is much more to still go. Best of luck and thanks for posting. NN NN Dr.Cole,1989. ??graftcount Dr. Ron Shapiro. Senior Member the B spot Posted July 2, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted July 2, 2007 Nope---- you will begin to sprout a bit during month 3, with a larger explosion in month 6. Who is your Doc? Bill - Seemiller
Roy, You may or may not begin to sprout at month 3. It can range between 3 and 5 months even. Most people see visible results by month 6...some who are blessed with earlier growth see that explosion B Spot is referring to! I'd also like to know who your doctor was? Also, I'd encourage you to start your own thread, post your experience and photos. Bill
