(Actually, it's still a little pinkish underneath the grafts in the front and crown, but with all the new hair it's not noticeable. Holy balls! Aaron: Yes, there's definitely a big difference, but I don't think it's as dramatic as the pics seem to show. That straight-on shot of my hairline at 3 months makes my hair look more dense than it really is, and (regrettably) I don't have a similar shot from 2.5 months to use for comparison purposes. Honestly, I think the overhead shot of the hairline at 3 months probably gives a better basis of comparison. It shows that there's still a long way to go before I have anything approaching real density. But I'm definitely grateful for the nice spurt of growth over the past few weeks, and am hoping for more of the same in the weeks ahead! ;-) My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Hasson
Senior Member aaron1234 Posted November 2, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted November 2, 2009 I totally appreciate that photos don't tell the whole story.. but there is a clear improvement in a two week span. Very nice. I'm approaching 2.5 months myself and would be thrilled to get a nice little spurt like that. Of course, you have a long way to go... but at least you know you are growing! Congrats. Senior Member Sparse Posted November 2, 2009 Author Senior Member Share Posted November 2, 2009 Thanks Aaron. I just saw your pics: looks like some great work, and I trust you'll soon get a nice spurt of new growth, as well. You started out your HT journey with less hairloss than many of us, and you should have a phenomenal head of hair a few months from now. Senior Member Sparse Posted November 10, 2009 Author Senior Member Share Posted November 10, 2009 Thanks, Joe: as you can imagine, I'm very pleased with the growth I've experienced so far. So, is '10 months' the time point by which most patients have witnessed the lion's share of their result? I know follicles are on a 3-5 month growth cycle, so it seems like 10 months gives them all a chance to go through two full cycles . . . ? Senior Member Sparse Posted January 18, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted January 18, 2010 That's very kind of you, but I still think your result is in a league of its own - one of the all time great pre-post transformations! (I started out with quite a bit more hair, and since I'm already in my 40s and fairly stabilized on the loss front, I didn't need to worry too much about planning for future loss.) Regular Member bighosedragger Posted January 19, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted January 19, 2010 Sparse, Your hair looks amazing and you had incredible growth at the three month mark.....I can only hope I'm that lucky! I was wondering how your scar was doing it looks really good in your early pics...was wondering if you had any stretching. Also did you have any tension or did your work out during the early stages of your HT? Anyway congratulations on your awesome transformation! Senior Member Sparse Posted January 20, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted January 20, 2010 Hair_me_out and Omar: Thanks for the kind words! I can't wait to see your results in the months ahead, as well . . . Bighose (nice name): Thanks for your comments. And I think the scar has turned out pretty well. It's hard even to locate the scar in the back (it's quite thin, and the hair back there is still really thick), while on the sides there's been maybe just a bit of stretching (2-3 mm scar width), but nothing noticeable on cursory inspection. As for workouts: I was working out 6-7 times a week before the HT (cardio and lifting on alternate days), and then laid off entirely for 3 weeks. I started back with jogging and elliptical, and waited until about 5 weeks out before I began lifting again - had no problems jumping back into the old routine, even lifting to failure with no obvious tension on the scar. Good luck, and grow well! My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Hasson
Regular Member bighosedragger Posted January 20, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted January 20, 2010 Sparse, thats good to hear about the scar! I'm lucky that my hair is very thick also in the donor. As for me I started to work out at the 2 week mark very lightly. I'm at 3 weeks now and feel no tension at all so I have been doing some lifting....about 75% of what I normaly would do. Dr. Shapiro said I would be ok and to use common sens....if I felt any tension to back off. I really looking forward to getting back to my routine! Senior Member Sparse Posted January 20, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted January 20, 2010 Hey, that's great that you're able to return to your workout routine so quickly! It's so important - especially to help maintain emotional equilibrium during the "doldrums" stage. ;-) My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Hasson
Senior Member Sparse Posted February 1, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted February 1, 2010 Over the past few weeks, I've run into several people whom I hadn't seen since before my HT. Almost all of them have commented on the change, usually something like, "Hey, I really like your hair like that. You've let it grow longer (lol) and it looks really good!" Senior Member Sparse Posted February 3, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted February 3, 2010 Thanks, Fingers. I hope your growth is every bit as fast in the months ahead. Since you've got over 4k grafts packed into your frontal region, you should have one hell of an impressive outcome!
