STYLING QUESTION

Say a patient wanted a hair transplant, he has curly hair. Is the only acceptable way to style it just by combing it backwards? Because the only guys i see with hair transplants that look decent always have the same combed back hair style? Not that im insulting anyone WHATSOEVER it looks fine, but just wondering

~im getting a hair transplant in 2012 when im 25~

This topic was discussed thoroughly not too long ago. I believe a poster named notgoing2gobald brought it up (although i could be mistaken). perhaps do a search for his name and you'll find it....

Bill,

I'm going to give you a new nickname - "click here". Yea, it fits you. Or, should that be your middle name? Bill Click Here Seemiller.

Maybe I'll take a poll.

I'm not going to be able to quickly reference different threads but there are a few posters on here that have hair combed down and they look quite good. Moreover, guys like Bobman and Bushy have adopted different styles. Usually a person will need several FU for added density to be able to adopt differing hairstyles. If I had to guess, most people that are NW5+ need about 4000 or more Fu with a conservative hairline for the ability to vary hairstyles. Ofcourse that is not an accurate statement but just a rough ballpark.

Good figure Nelly

When I had 2 Ht's of 2800 or so (Norwood 5). I did have some options but limits. Keep in mind I was using concealer. Now at 5017 or so and ZERO concealer, I can really style my hair as I want. Slicked back , parted, spiked.. The number varies based on hair type and graft number.

oh, NO! we got him started!?!? Now we have to endure it with no photos.

Pl---E--ZE Jobi show us your woman slaying mop! You can black out your face. No one will recognize you. We never go to Road Island, we promise!!!

one question: can you REALLY spike it and it won't look thin?

Truly NG2GB.

Yes, I have sent confidential photos to Bill and most recently Janna. I can dry spike my hair and it looks thick as well as slick it back. Now if I put mousse it is and it is all wet then it may look a bit thinner but certainly not "balding like". That look is outdated anyway and I am a professional. Remember, it is all about illusion. i have also had 5000 plus grafts so I have had a substantial amount of help here

haha! I got to see jobi's pix, I got to see jobi's pix. Not that I'm bragging.

Seriously, jobi's hair looks lush and thick from the couple pix he sent. I believe one of the pix looked almost spiked up and could not detect a hint of hair loss. He probably gets glares of jealousy now.

OH NOoOoO!!!

Janna why did you have to go and do that? Verify the beauty of his bewildering head? Now you stole all my thunder. I can't tease Jobi about his hair anymore? Before NO ONE had seen it and now he's even got you chiming in with fanciful imagery "looks lush and thick"...what, did the beauty of his hair inspire you to write a poem about it after you saw it?

Damn. You just ruined the rest of my day. I can't even piss on Jobi about his "woman slaying mop" being fake anymore...why bother coming back to the forum...

Why don't you show me your hair Jobi? I probably wouldn't even recognize my own hairline in a pic let alone some guy from Road Island...what gives?

give to the follicularily challenged...

this is kinda weird I've never begged a guy for pics of his hair before...

OH, I forgot to post this image: I was dancing and kicking up my heals as I sang, I got to see jobi's pix. Cuz I really was bragging.

Sorry ng2gb! Yes, the beauty of his hair is inspiring! You really should see it.

I was also privileged with seeing Jobi's hair transplant pictures, and let me say, they are amazing!

Now if only we can convince him to post them publicly for all to see!

And to come back to topic, I am certain that with his thick mop that his hair styles aren't limited icon_smile.gif

What I have found is, the more hair coverage and density, the fewer limitations one has with styling.

Cheers,

Bill

Please note: Jobi is NOT a patient of SMG.

He sent some photos to me to get my opinion of his hairtransplants, which resulted in totally awesome head of hair that is a must see!!

If you are going to post a picture of Janna and I, at least you could have superimposed our faces with an image editor. :P

Regarding styling...

I tend to style my hair straight back and then pull it forward just a little bit. This works the best for me.

Though I have great coverage and decent hair density, I find that by keeping it a little longer, layering works nicely to increase the illusion of fullness. I couldn't probably get away with growing it too long however, as it will most likely look a bit flat.

Cheers,

Bill

Partially correct

My hair is a little wavy so that tends to cover some areas which are not perfectly thick. Remember, it is the illusion of density not a FULL mane. There are other things you can do to help with coverage including: different hairstyle, some color in your hair, and different styling products.. It's funny, because I really had to learn how to style my hair again esepcially with the hundred of products out there.

HEY MRJB,

I gotta tell ya...ya got Janna kicking her heals and used the term LUSH to describe your hair....I like and hate you at the same time....lol.

But seriously...It's good to hear your feedback about graph count and density....thanks.

I was kind've close to a NW5 and just grabbed 2800+ graphs.

I guess if a second pass is in my future a ballpark of 2000graphs should set me free and have beautiful girls calling my hair LUSH dammit !!!

Mrjb sent me some hair porn of his mop in an email, and let me just say this: it truly is majestic; wittnessing it is like having a spiritual experience. I stayed up all night writing poems and songs over candle light in my feeble attempts to capture and express the life changing experience I encountered. But, to no avail nothing even approximated expressing it in all of its glory. Like Moses coming down from Mount Sania with the glory of God all over his face--I stepped out of bed with the glorious glow still radiating upon my face which seeped through my laptop from the angelic mop...And as Moses held the tablets with Gods finger prints all over them, then descended from the beauty of Gods presence and left to return to the cruel, ugly, evil world---So I held the glorious photos in my hand as I crawled to the bathroom mirror and saw only thinning cruel hair with uneven temples...Indeed the glory was gone.

So here I sit, left like a blind man attempting to describe light, like a deaf man attempting to describe songs of glory; indeed I feel I am plagued with impotence...all alone. all alone....

I'm the world tallest midget.

Thanks NG2GB

I am very humbled.. Well guys, all I can say is it wasnt always like that & I clearly remember doubting how good my hair would look after all HT's were done. I was a N5 for god's sake! But, as I said, it turned out better than I imagined. Gft graft count reallt depends on your characteristics so don't assume 5000 will work perfect for you. Others need more or less?

As far as thickeners,I use the Revita shampoo and then a product to give it body (to add volume). Then I use some type of paste to give it texture as my haircut has that spikey dry mess look. I have heard others on here talk about fructus surf hair or something ike that?? As I said, it has taken a while to learn what works for my hair..

I hope everyone has a better idea of how good a HT can look. I know we talk about bads ones but remember, the good ones you cannot see
