  1. Gorpy... Couldn't agree with you more. The reason people feel more at ease with Obama is because he's been a major public figure and working the public for about 16 months...Palin's considered a rookie and joke only because she a newbie. My aunt who is an Ivy League thinker and sane individual brought up two great points recently.... 1) The biggest problem women have making in this country...are other women....WOW !!! how they have been crushing her and wont let up..The clowns on "the View" should be ashamed of themselves....among others. 2) Not sure how many people remember Geraldine Ferraro...look at her resume...she was a hero and basically untouched....interesting. Still love our country. Let the best candidate win...no matter what race,gender...or AGE. MH
  2. PGP... I agree with you about Janna. In my opinion she is one of the most,if not THE most, helpful person/tech on this site. Unselfish with her time and a class act. MH
  3. Hey guys.. I found this old thread interesting. I also have been told by Docs that Proscar 1.25 every other day is fine. Hey Yourcoach... I noticed you mentioned you were "going to start splitting the pills in quarters tonight"......I was told NOT to quarter all the pills at once. The reason being once split over time they weaken in strength. Only split them when you need them....not all at once. Thought I'd pass that along. MH
  4. It's a smart move to go home the next day. If you're going to have swelling it's going to happen at about three days. You'll be a little tired but also real happy it's over and on to the growing phase. I took a painkiller before boarding the plane with a light meal and was feeling just fine. MH
  5. Looks real good for only four months. How many graphs did you receive ?? Who was your Doc ?? MH
  6. Our German friend can claim what he likes when he likes. The jobs he's "spotting" are just that....the ones he "can" spot. The great jobs are the ones he can't see...even with his amazing powers.....lol. MH
  7. Dr.Epstein. As usual thanks for the clear and helpful explanation of how you do the work you do. Also...it's not only helpful to all us guys losing our hair that you are a fact type Doc...and don't have to compare your work to other docs or mention their names to prove a point...it not only shows you have your own identity...but helps us patients keep our eye on the ball. I really find that approach not only respectful and not self-serving...but you stick to the facts and your beliefs...thank you. I speak often with my pals who I've told about this forum and they lurk regularly. They also like your approach...expect phone calls. MH
  8. Dr.Feller.... What do you mean when you say " the differences in our results should give you the answer you are seeking " PLEASE tell me what that means. I'm really curious. MH
  9. Hey homeslice. Did you get a look at the above pics ?? If you ask me you seriously should add Dr. Shapiro to your list of docs. My top two are Epstein and Shapiro. I would really visit as many docs as you can. You can only learn from the visits. Also...Shapiro like Epstein DOES NOT require shaving. Also don't get thrown off when people say "top" clinics...no such thing. Some clinics that do the large jobs get more praise because of the WOW results they are showing. You damn well better be getting WOW results when getting 5000+ graphs and spending over 20 dimes. Best of luck pal. Keep us posted. MH
  10. Homeslice. I'm 7 months post-op with Dr.Epstein and very happy so far. I'm getting alot of great feedback and from what I understand I'm only about 60/70% home at 7 months. The scar if outstanding...the surgery and care top notch...and Dr.Epstein is a regular/no hype/no BS top doc. The shave/no shave issue will go on for ever. I've read and re-read arguments on both sides from top docs. My feeling it's the docs preference to go either way. I also feel the docs that do the MEGA sessions of course are going to shave or they would have to do most of there huge jobs in two days...not good for business. Also look at Dr.Shapiro's work on this forum. No one will argue about the quality of his work....he doesn't require shaving. Research carefully...you'll be fine. MH
  11. Dennis... I agree. Dr.E did my job and the scar is outstanding. I look at the back of my head using a hand held mirror...and can't even see the scar. Every time I get my hair cut....my barber of ten years shakes his head and can't believe how the scar line went from red to basically NOTHING. MH
  12. Hatrick.. Interesting breakdown of the hair/regions. Never really looked at it that way. It's true when you hear the avg is 100,000 hairs...the 5100+ hairs I had moved seems like nothing...but the breakdown sheds new light. Thx, MH
  13. Gator... I'm six months post-op with Epstein. I kind've remember what you're talking about. The little white looking crusts were more noticable after I got out of the shower...they kind of went away during the day. It's something I kind of remember but wasn't a big deal. If you heal the way I did with Epstein...you'll be just fine. MH
  14. Hey guys. I agree with Emperor. My experience was pretty close to a piece of cake. ZERO pain when the donor area was cut/removed. I has actually asked Dr.Epstein when he was going to start the cutting and the doc/staff kind of chuckled and said he was finished and just about finished with the sutures. The post-op was also pretty easy. A little soreness for a few days...no big deal. It's important to stay on top of the pain meds for the first few days...but believe me i was never in NEED of the pain meds...just played it safe. My sleeping was really not that bad. Epstein used the sutures not staples. I hear alot of guys claiming the staples suck. The sutures were easy to sleep with/on and my scar is friggin awesome. There is a little pain with the needles/anesthetic...but no big deal. Same kind of dentist type pain. MH
  15. Stinger... Research the crap out of this subject before you make a decision. Make sure you find yourself falling asleep in front of your computer a few times...I did...lol. Ask alot of questions...leave no stone unturned. Go with a doc that has done a ton of these jobs like the coalition docs on this site. Also...meet as many docs in person as you can. MH
  16. Interesting info doc. Also...the work you are showing looks real clean and refined. Would like to see these guys as they progress. MH
  17. Noelio... I agree with Dewayne on many points. You will care when you're 35...Im 40 and hanging around girls that are 25-35. Also...I would wait a bit. Get on a regular routine of meds and see how and if they stabilize your situation. As Dewayne mentioned....don't sacrifice long-term looks for the short term. I for one know that my doc (Dr.Epstein) doesn't love the idea of doing jobs on guys less than 25 years old. Don't panic or rush into this. These great Docs aren't going anywhere...and will only improve with time. Research ! MH
  18. That's cool lion. It's normal to be a little nervous...comes with the territory. We all heal differently...keep that in mind. Just curious...who was your doc ?? Good luck...all will be fine. MH
  19. Another thing lion. Dr.Epstein told me to expect some "acne like" pimples at around 2-3 months. He suggested warm soaks to these areas with warm water/antibiotic ointment. I simply used cotton balls with warm water to kind've calm these areas down. After using the cotton balls i applied a little ointment...it worked wonders. Look at it this way....pimples and a little redness is a good thing...it means things are about to happen. Dr.Epstien nailed it...two months later...the areas that had pimples..now have HAIR !! Enjoy the ride. MH
  20. Hey lion. I also had little tiny bumps/pimples starting around 2 months. My doc had assured me it was normal. It was actually the beginning signs of growth. At two months you have to chill out a bit and realize it will take around 3-5 months before things really start rolling. MH
  21. You nailed it Please Grow Please. MH
  22. Hey Dr.Epstein. Glad you enjoyed the Horse race. I think all the docs mentioned in this thread are great Docs. I will tell you though...Dr.Epstein is a total class act. This fact is not only reflected in this thread but if anyone meets him in person you will leave the consult realizing not only have you met a passionate Doctor who's not full of himself...but also a regular guy..MD or not. MH
  23. Here we go....more drama. I love you all...but some docs and patients need to turn off the computer for a bit. Watch the horse race today or something. Fast and happy growing to all my pals. MH
  24. Kiss Looking online and looking at the docs best work that they are showing is great but you should do more. In NY you have many great choices. In no particular order and not mentioning the docs you already looked into: Dr.True Dr.Epstein Dr.Bernstein I would consult with all these docs in person to get a better feel for the doc. All these guys are great docs with great reputations but all differ. Some are a bit conservative while others are more aggressive. Your personal goals and type of hairloss you have alot of the times help you pick the doc that is right for you. Pictures are fine and wonderful...but would you buy a car by just looking at pictures ??? Meet them in person...it will help alot. Good luck, MH
