Guest
Good luck, you appear to have excellent donor area, looks like medium to coarse hair also, if $$$ is not an issue i suggest asking for more graphs, just get it done the first time, Hasson & Wong and "techs" are at the top of the game right now. Senior Member kg007 Posted March 28, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted March 28, 2006 I agree. I think you would need atleast 4000-4500 grafts to achieve maximum results in just one visit.

Senior Member hairworthy Posted April 1, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted April 1, 2006 Yeah an additional asset is the color of your hair. Minimal contrast with your scalp. With a megasession it should really look full. Regular Member domie Posted April 1, 2006 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 1, 2006 hello again everyone! its great to hear your comments and encouragement! this has been one of the biggest (if not THEE biggest) decisions of my life and your shared knowledge, experiences and wealth of information has helped push me over the edge... to grab that nagging, despairing problem (hair loss) by the nose and kick it in the rear! again, thank you all! post-op pics up. so the original plan was for 3000-3500 fu's... the final tally was somewhere in the 4900's... wow!? there was enough extra to fill in all thinning areas, i am absolutely amazed and thoroughly excited... especially to see the final results! i am trying to find the words to describe my experience with hason and wong without sounding like a cheesy info-mmercial. across the board, every aspect of the process was very positive and comforting. from soothing my nerves (without drugs) to working out the details, i cant help but feel i made the right decision in H&W. Regular Member domie Posted April 9, 2006 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 9, 2006 hello again everyone, the staples were removed just last night, 52 total. piece of cake. today was time to tighten up the cut a bit (not that Dr Wong didnt give me a great haircut or anything). i used a #1 to a #3 strategically (this was a first, giving myself a haircut), im really happy with the results. ive lost a lot of the hair the past couple days rubbing off the "crusties" but im hoping that means they'll come back sooner! till next time, cheers guys! Regular Member domie Posted April 29, 2006 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 29, 2006 hello again everyone! another milestone has been achieved in the HT journey, the 1 month mark... woo-hoo! everything has gone very smooth, staple removal was an absolute breeze, had some serious shedding right after that but i'll take that in hopes it will be back that much sooner. scar fades everyday. besides being an ass clown and standing in the sun on my lunch breaks the last 2 days (just prior to these pics) i have taken great care of the investment (thank god i didnt burn). ;-) yeah, its already easy to forget whats been done. :-) so as i stated in my blog, im 1 month post-op, balder than ever... and SO glad i had the procedure done! its all about the final results... rockin' that bangin' cut! woot-woot! hope these pics help those who need it, and also any input from you vets is greatly appreciated. Senior Member Eman Posted May 1, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted May 1, 2006 You look great, especially after a month. When did you go back to work (I cannot wear a hat or anything)? How long did it take for the redness in the front take to dissipate? I have taken a special interest in your case as I have the same color hair and had a consult with Dr. Wong and he estimated that I needed approximately 3500 grafts. I am pretty nervous about setting a date, due predominately to the scar in the donot area as I keep my hair trimmed at a #2. My initial HT thread: done and done!! Check it out... Regular Member domie Posted May 2, 2006 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 2, 2006 thanks for the comments guys, its always refreshing to get positive nods from the knowledgable HRRF crowd, you all rock! you are so right about the "ride" troy, without a doubt this is the biggest decision i have ever made. at times "the voices" can kick in and try and play mind games, but the level of anxiety has faded in the light of anticipation for the coming results. also the healing process has made things much easier, not feeling so "fragile." eman, i flew from sf to vancouver late wed night, had surgery thursday, flew home friday evening (including a bart ride through sf and oakland with a car full of "gangstas" around midnight, then walked 2 miles home from the station), rested at home sat and sun, and worked monday morning. i wore a hat until my staples were removed (by a friend) 10 days later, shaved the domb that day with a #1-3 (pics are up, should be helpful to your situation). the redness is still there but not that noticable and fades everyday. just get a little sun before you go, i had zero for months before my procedure and it has not been an issue for me. dr wong had given me the exact same count and i ended up (very happily!) with over 4900. you have no idea how nervous i was making the decision, i was wrecked for a few weeks debating the options. after getting my facts straight and knowing the process, for me it boiled down to, "do i want to shave my head for the rest of my life? (because thats all that was left to do without any styling options left) or do i want to do something about this look i hate?" after that simple fact, the decision was much easier for me. when i was in the chair, whenever the word "scalpel" popped in my head, i just thought of that nagging feeling i had every single time i looked in the mirror... and i made it through what was not easy for me personally. hope that helps you out, and again thank you all for being a part of the ride!
