Guest
I read somewhere on the net where it said that pregnant women should stay away from propecia... it said that even the touch of it could cause major complications for babies... making me wonder if male users are more prone to having kinds with problems ie: deformations etc... Also, i'm sure it speeds up other hair growth like facial and body hair. Anyone care to share?

Senior Member Mark H Posted October 25, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted October 25, 2006 All of those happened to me Huge, except the gas part. Oh wait, that all happened before I took propecia, no wonder I haven't had any problems. My Hair Loss Weblog

Bill - Seemiller
Well I think these last several posts just scared the pants off of the new people. Way to go guys ! There are risks of side effects with Propecia and sexual side effects is a possible one. Though it is rare, it is something to be wary of. Tender chest is another very rare one. The good news is, if you start to take the medication, and you notice that your sexual drive is going down or having other sexual side effects, all you have to do is stop taking the medication and within a few months, the side effects will go away. I've read a post on here where someone was convinced that it's more psychological than anything else. For me...I was convinced that my sex drive was already so high that if I took it and my sex drive dropped, at least I'd be normal . However, fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, my sex drive is exactly the same and I've experienced no side effects whatsoever. Senior Member wesley949 Posted October 28, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted October 28, 2006 I have been on it for years-probably a slight reduction is semen is my only side effect. I do know one guy who developed a benign tumor in one of his breasts and has gotten off it till he knows if it is related.
Regular Member icare4myhair Posted October 31, 2006 Regular Member Share Posted October 31, 2006 If a hair loss reduction pill causes sexual side effects, then a question I have is whether a hair loss prevention pill (propecia) can be taken along with a sexual problem remediation pill (say viagra or similar pills). Personally, I have been taking propecia for about 2 months now and have not really experienced any side effects. I do not have much knowledge of the sexual remediation pills either, as I have fortunately not had the need to use any so far. If I had to choose one over the other, obviously, I would prefer hair loss over sexual side effects. But, ideal situation would be to avoid both, if possible. Considering that this may be a situation to contend with in future, would anyone have any information on taking hair loss and sexual remediation pills (say propecia and viagra) together or are they known to cause any problems when taken together? icare4myhair 2523 grafts - Dr.Ron Shapiro, Sep7, 2006 GRAFT STATISTICS 1hair -#grafts,#hairs- 450 , 450 2hair -#grafts,#hairs-1373, 2746 3hair -#grafts,#hairs- 650 , 1950 4hair -#grafts,#hairs- 50 , 200 TOTAL-#grafts,#hairs-2523, 5346 My Hair Loss Weblog
Guest
There is another proven way to stop hairloss; Castration. In my opinion this would be an extreme measure and I'm not recommending it unless you thoroughly think about the pros and cons.
