  1. Bill, Yes I haven't kept up with it. I'll try to add some over the weekend. I emailed Dr. Keene. I'm not overly concerned about this, which is good because I think I stressed a little too much after the first procedure. However, if there's a typical timeline for crown regrowth that occurs, I'd be interested in knowing about it and why.
  2. Hi, I'm eight months post-op with my second transplant with Dr. Keene. My frontal and mid-scalp zones look great but unfortunately the crown is still looking a little sparse. How long typically does it take for the crown area to resume its growth following surgery? Thanks

  4. So are you saying doctor that if they don't shed, they don't grow?
  5. It will actually skyrocket... just like everything else these days! My doctor's prices didn't change at all between 06' and '07. I wouldn't think a year would make much of a difference. Still, the best money I ever spent.
  6. Well that probably explains why my grafts seem to be in a "stand still no growth" phase. I'm 2.5 months post-op with my second HT with Dr. Keene. I didn't shed many hairs, but this constant "stubble" sure does get old sometimes
  7. Thanks Mrjb, Did most of your grafts form scabs, or just some of them?
  8. Hi, I'm two weeks post-op with my 2nd HT with Dr. Keene. Nothing major... just an additional 1500 grafts with one of the most ethical and caring doctors known to man!!! I started to scab about a week ago and now most of them have fallen off (most including the attached hair). However, there are a lot of grafts that don't seem to want to form scabs and are perfectly intact. Could these be keepers, or do ALL grafts form scabs eventually? Thanks

  10. HairBank, Gosh I'm gonna miss you and your familiar avatar! Thank you for your support over this past year. You always responded when I asked questions. I don't spend as much time around here as I used to, but I'm glad I got the chance to say goodbye...
  11. Has he considered shaving it off? That's the style for a lot of young guys these days... especially military men.
  12. Is there anything that possibly brought this about... stress, heredity, diet? Twenty one is pretty young for this. Has he seen an MD? That would be my advice. I agree... pretty cool of you to come here.
  13. a "Keene hairline"? But I wanted the Armani!!! Yeah I agree the hairline is excellent. No hint of a transplant here. You know, I just took a shower and I STILL must have 15 to 20 minor scalp irritations! I know this is common after 2-3 months, but eleven months post-op!!!
  14. Thanks for the advice and evaluations... So 25cm2 should produce 25 grafts within a centimeter squared.. right? (roughly 3/8 of an inch). I had roughly 75 centimeters to fill. The procedure planned for 25-30 cm2. Also, Dr. Keene was nice enough to add an additional 200 4-hair grafts (leftovers) to my crown for filler. Look at my attachment... I'm seeing maybe 5-10 grafts at best at the front, usually an area that doctors like to "build up" for effect. Does this look right? I've contacted Dr. Keene and I'm awaiting her evaluation. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again!
  15. Thanks guys... I should've mentioned that I'm almost at eleven months post-op. I have nowhere near the amount of cm2 density I expected. Please understand I DON'T consider this to be my doctor's fault. I'm just worried that an underlying infection (like folliculitis) may be present that's inhibiting or even stopping my growth?
  16. Hi guys, I got an email from someone who viewed my hair loss blog. He asked if I had suffered from folliculitis following my transplant procedure. Why, I'm not sure?.. he never followed up when I began asking him questions. Anyway, my hair growth since the transplant has been less than stellar and I'm wondering if maybe this is the cause? I've always had a fair amount of redness, boils and scalp irritations. However, I just figured it was the new hair trying to push through based on what I read here. Now I'm not so sure. Can this permanently damage newly transplanted hair to the point of eventual loss? Thanks

  18. More high marks for Dr. Keene here... She placed most of the grafts herself with only one other assistant helping towards the end. Her attention to detail, the naturalness of its result and postop consultation and treatment are all top notch. Great experience!
  19. Glad to have you here Lisa. I'm just about 8 months post-op with Dr. Keene and the results are very good so far. She's really first class!
  20. Yes, it's amazing how many hair stylists promote it as a hair growth shampoo.
  21. Nioxin "Scalp Therapy" is a pretty good thickening conditioner. I use it following Nioxin #4 Cleanser. No dryness here...
  22. Thanks everyone for chiming in. Your support is appreciated. My wife thinks the pictures don't do me justice, and even I admit the change at this point is pretty dramatic. I'm glad you all feel I have more to look forward to. Now if I could only kick-start this stubble! Jon
  23. Hi guys, I have a new picture on my blog. It's coming along... will probably be a good summer! Jon http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=97
