  1. The first thing you'll want to do is consider getting on finasteride (Propecia or Proscar). Do a search in this forums archives on this subject and you'll find tons of info. You're still young, so get on the finasteride and wait to see if this stops or slows any hair loss that may be coming in the future.
  2. It was nice of Dr. Feller to join in on this thread to reassure Sipa and to also offer Sipa the opportunity to come into his office. It's obvious that Dr. Feller is a class act all the way. I'm thinking of getting some FUE work done soon and Dr. Feller would be my first choice for that.
  3. As far as I know, shock loss is confined to the donor and recipient areas since the definition of shock loss is simply "the loss of hair following transplant surgery, either from the receptor area or the donor area." According to my research on the Internet, shock loss occurs by either the cutting of the hair in the recipient area while making the sites or from the actual trauma of the transplant itself in both the recipient and donor areas. Blood flow is temporarily obstructed to native and grafted follicles.
  4. This is true. I know a guy who looked like his hair was thick when it was longer but as soon as he cut it short on top I couldn't believe how thin it was. topnot, Follow Mrjb's advice and also grow your hair longer on top to cover up the thinning until you can see if the meds help (Minoxidil, Propecia, etc.)
  5. The previous advice given about finasteride (Propecia/Proscar) is right on. You're still young and need to see if finasteride will stop/stablize your hair loss. You see, the shitty deal about hair loss is that you really don't know how much hair you're going to lose since you're still young. You can look at your family for an indication of what might happen down the road, but even that's not 100% accurate. You only have so much donor hair from the back and sides of your head that can be used for a transplant. If you rush out to get a hair transplant right now and fill in your thinning crown and deplete most of your donor hair, what will you do if your hairline suddenly starts receding like crazy? There may not be enough donor hair left to fill in this area. As previously mentioned, get on finasteride and wait a year. If your hair loss stops then you'll be in a better position to make an informed decision. In the meantime, use the 'Find' feature on this forum and search the archives for information. You'll find nearly every answer about hair loss that you may have!
  6. I was only kidding about the $10,000,000.00! I'll bet you though I was important for a minute there, however. By the way, I noticed that d*ckhead is online. Be prepared for some retaliation! This is fun! The sad part is that he doesn't even realize he's a d*ck. Bring it on, Mark 007! Hit me hard with some good comebacks, then I'll hit you with some more! I'm lovin' it!!!!
  7. 1mg is all you need for hair-loss halting or growth. Finasteride works different on some people. You may halt the loss and not get any growth, you may get growth, or you may not get anything. The odds are with you, however, if you get on it and give it a try.
  8. Like anyone gives a rat's ass that this moron can put $25,000.00 next to his laptop. That's a drop in the bucket, d*ckhead! You pull it out of your 401(k) and take a big hit just so we would think you're important? BWAHHH, HA, HA, HA! Well folks, I've really enjoyed reading all these posts. I'm going to go work on my $10,000,000.00 stock portfolio. I'll even post a copy of my Vanguard statement so everyone will think I'm important!
  9. In my opinion, after reading this thread and seeing this morons pictures, I would get such joy smacking the sh*t out of him!
  10. Looks like you may have the beginnings of MPB on the crown and a slightly receding hairline (just my opinion). As Mrjb mentioned, go see a dermatologist or Coalition HT doctor for a check-up if you're concerned.
  11. In the actual studies, 1mg of finasteride (Propecia/Proscar) was taken daily. Some doctors feel it doesn't need to be taken that often (every other day). Personally, I take it every day to mimic the actual studies.
  12. No, it will not help you. Finasteride (Propecia, Proscar) and minoxidil (Rogaine) are the only two proven methods to regrow hair or stop/slow hair loss. In my opinion, this Hair Pro Formula is plainly a crock of sh*t. Sorry.
  13. Viki, I'm from the United States, so I have no idea. Maybe a poster who is from India can suggest someone.
  14. Gorpy, Thank you for correcting me. It started a good discussion on the difference between a 'coalition' doctor and a 'recommended' doctor. Pat, Thanks for taking the time to explain the difference.
  15. Yes, Dr. Lehr is a coalition doctor. Being that he refunded hrthr's money says a lot about his ethics. I know it sucks, but I've read that this type of thing sometimes happens and it's difficult to pinpoint why. It's possible that you may be genetically determined to bald later in life. Maybe a dermatologist can help to make sure that the balding is natural-balding and not being caused by something else.
  16. Viki, Are you male or female? If male, get on finasteride (Propecia or Proscar) for starters to slow or halt the hair loss. If female, the most common type of hair loss seen in women is androgenetic alopecia, also known as female pattern alopecia. Physical or psychological stress can also cause hair loss in women. You should probably see a dermatologist. They may suggest Rogaine.
  17. In my opinion, if 'no hair sux' is not happy with his receding hairline, he should go for the HT. I know that I wasn't happy with my receding hairline, even though many people told me that I didn't need an HT. I ended up getting two HT's and am very happy at the difference that they made. In fact, I'm thinking of an FUE procedure to fill in the cracks! As previously mentioned, the chances of Propecia helping a lot on hairline aren't always good, which I believe is the area that 'no hair sux' is concerned about. I also believe that the same goes with Rogaine. Like Propecia, it is known to work better on the crown area. So, in my opinion, 'no hair sux' should continue with the Propecia and also consider getting an HT if he's not happy with his current situation.
  18. Mark H, You should start seeing some growth near Christmas but wait until summer rolls around! You'll be looking good!
  19. Some doctors prefer you to shave your head while others don't. If you stop taking Propecia, any growth you've experienced thus far would go bye-bye. It's a lifetime commitment if you want to retain the growth you've experienced and if you want to slow or halt any future hair loss.
  20. I'm going to butt in here real quick regarding MSM (even though the question was directed to Spex). I get my MSM at Sam's Club. The brand name is Members Mark and I think it's about $18.00 for 300 1500mg tablets. Not sure if it's the best, but it works for me.
  21. Your best bet is to search the archives on this forum for finasteride, Propecia, Proscar, minoxodil (or minoxidil), Rogaine, MSM, hairline, etc. The answers to all of your questions are already here!
  22. Bummer. I have read that it can take up to a year to see any results and that some people just don't respond well to finasteride. Hang in there.
