I'm sure Dr. Wong told you this, but these hairs will fall out (this is normal), go into a resting phase, and then start growing again. I just didn't want you to freak out when you saw these hairs start to disappear!

I just Googled it and it seems to be a medication for the prevention and reduction of scarring. Looks like they're still doing clinical trials that won't end until late 2007/early 2008.

Very nice! I enjoyed looking at your website. What a difference your HTs have made. It has definitely changed your looks for the better. I know that my HT's made a big change with how I looked. Before I had my HTs, I thought that I actually looked silly with that stupid receding hairline that I had!

I have to agree with Dr. Feller. After reading a number of hairtech_'s posts, hairtech_ is definitely full of himself. Just my opinion, of course.

YoungGuy, Definitely a great improvement in comparison to your 'before' photos! It's really going to thicken up during the next nine months! From what I have seen on this forum, I have been very impressed with Feller's work. I'm planning on a third procedure later this year and, as of right now, Feller's my first choice.

I can relate to this post as I am a musician and also suffered from the dreaded receding hairline. It definitely looked like crap on stage under the lights! I received two HT's, one with approx. 1500 grafts and another with 1000 grafts. Unfortunately, these HT's were not with a Coalition doctor recommended from this forum. I am still happy with the results compared to what I had before but I still want to have yet another, smaller, session with a Coalition doctor to fill everything in. My hairline is still too conservative for my taste. The moral of the story is: Make sure the doctor knows exactly what you want so he/she can make an informed decision on whether or not he/she can, or will, do what you want. If you don't want a conservative hairline (like me), then tell the doctor. Otherwise, you may not be satisfied with the results. I think you need to have some consultations with some of the other Coalition doctors, like Feller, Ron Shapiro, H and W, to name a few. They'll do consultations online and should be able to tell you what can be done to help you. Just my opinion.

Most likely, it's just a sign that the Propecia is working. This type of shedding is normal when starting (or re-starting) a treatment. You will need to be patient with Propecia because it usually takes six months to a year of consistently taking it before the results will be clear.

Also, remember that hair goes through a cycle that includes periods when it will fall out but will grow back. http://www.pg.com/science/haircare/hair_twh_21.htm

Maria, The majority of us on this forum don't have your particular "problem" ("very thick, naturally curvy/wavy long hair"). You would be better off using Google for this type of information! Good luck!

I hear ya! I try to picture how a guy going to bed with a woman for the first time can explain why his hair fell off while doing the "wild thing"! If he took it off before getting laid, he probably would end up not getting laid!

I enjoyed reading this thread since I plan to do an FUE procedure later this year to fill in the cracks in my hairline and fill in the temples a bit from my previous two HT's, both with a doctor not in the coalition. Unfortuantely, this was before I even knew about the coalition. I'm still happy with the results in comparison to what I looked like before the HT's, but I would have gone with a coalition doctor and had it done correctly the first time had I known about them. I'm guessing about 400 grafts will do it. Of course, I will be doing some consultations first.

Great posts, guys. I've been on this forum for about a year and a half and have been very impressed with how Pat stands behind the patients. There is no doubt in my mind that he is looking out for our best interests. He deserves every dime he gets for the amount of excellent information he provides and for the number of qualified posters he has drawn to this forum.

Also, remember to eat six small meals per day instead of three clunkers like most people do. Works out to about once every 2-3 hours. Each small meal should include a quality source of protein and a quality source of carbs.

That's cool, NN. I found that for a while I read posts every day on this forum, then once a week, now about every two weeks since I have other things to take care of. Plus, it seems like a cycle takes place on the forum where the same topics come up. So, I only pop in occasionally and will post something every couple of weeks. Hopefully, you'll check in once in a while. The thing that really blows my mind is when someone gets on this forum, posts their balls off for about a month or two, and then one day just disappears! Gone! I've seen a couple of posters like this over the last year!

In my opinion, I believe that this is the last we'll hear from good ol' radgav.

Another possibility is to shave your head to see if you like that. Many people don't want to deal with the medications, transplants, etc. If you don't want to shave your head, follow hairbank's advice.

I'm quite impressed with the Feller hairlines. It seems that Feller is becoming a big player in most all disciplines (crown, FUE, hairline, repair). My opinion, of course!

I was 44 when I received my first HT (over two years ago) and then another about a year ago. I believe that you're doing the right thing by researching your options. What's another couple of months before making a decision, right? Although I am pleased with my results (it beats the crap out of what I looked like before), I just wish that I would have found this forum sooner. I would have definitely chosen one of the Coalition docs.

Plus, Nizoral (the 2%) was used during the initial finasteride studies. If you're using finasteride, it is recommended that Nizoral is also used.
