  1. No, this is all a big joke. Mahair isn't Matt Lauer. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  2. crypto, Ironically, your hair currently is what most of us would call a GOOD final state to a successful HT. I'd put it off unless it is REALLY eating at you. The result of an HT should be "mature and recessed" to avoid looking weird later in life and reduce the risk of the need for additional HTs. Not everyone shares my opinion on it, but in your case you are making the right call in "holding off". vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  3. Pat, Way to go. That is a classy and appropriate respond to this situation. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  4. parable: I responded on your other thread but I want to add more here: I want to give you confidence that though you are about to (and already are) encountering what amounts to scare tactics from Dr White's intimidate you. You are doing the right thing. Do not let threats of a countersuit bother you. If your evidence goes before a jury, you will win. Do not doubt that. Not for a second. Dr White had his chance, it appears, to be sympathetic and helpful and instead tried to "play it off". This is common. Your courage is uncommon, as is your pain. But hold on to the belief that you can make it all better. Dr White should look to settle and do some damage control here now that he and little Marcus "came strong" but you came stronger with picts. His livelihood isn't worth one patient's bad results. And look at it this way, you also may be teaching the office that hey, we gotta watch our Ps and Qs or we'll go under. That is a good thing in my book. My opinion (not an expert legal one, please note) is that a full refund of your HT expenses PLUS full payment for correcting procedures at the facility of YOUR choice should be the minimal payment accepted. A jury would probably award you pain and suffering as well. You decide how far you want to take it. You are the one living this experience. A settlement will almost certainly involve you signing a statement saying that you will not continue to post any of your experiences with the office online or elsewhere anymore. Ask yourself what that silence is worth to you. Dude, I'm sorry you are going through all this. Stay strong. All you wanted is a better life and some more hair and decency and what you got was the exact reverse. NO PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION should be the cause of that EVER. And if they are, they have to face the consequnces. It is just that simple. Best of luck. We stand behind you. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  5. Parable, Man, that sucks. But you did yourself a great justice by posting the entire story for us. We are all 100% behind you. Keep those picts. If the doc is uncooperative (almost certainly, he will be at least at first), show them to an attorney. That attorney will then KISS YOUR ASS because he sees HUGE money in his future. And guess what happens then? YOU make all the decisions and YOU have regained the power. Sucks that you had to go through all this, but you are doing the right thing here to correct all this. Good luck, best wishes, and give'm hell. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  6. Mahair, I still wish you'd post some picts. I doubt ANYBODY would make fun of you, AND you legitimize yourself to the forum. After many posts, I can tell you that an overwhelming number of posters here are here to get informed and/or to inform others. The feebs are few and far between and easily cast aside. WITHOUT seeing your picts, my advice to you is to see Shapiro and/or Rose as you were planning and get their opinions. Both struck me as true professionals. You gotta trust someone here. And in my book, TRYING to do something to "right a wrong" is better than just sitting there and taking it. Man, don't let it wreck you. Legitimize your case. Listen to the experts. And move onward and upward. The results can only bring you hope and improvement at this stage. After all, those are the things you are seeking here, right? We all hate the hairmills here -- trust that. And also, we rally around those here who's successes are demonstrated by their actions in the face of their struggles. Haha, it's funny how the internet can mirror real life sometimes, isn't it? vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  7. 30-40% does seem low to me, though I have heard that "some" HTs take up to 2 years to fully show, you'd think more grafts would have least shown themselves by month 11. I'd say better try taking to him or meeting him in person. E-mail should be realiable, but people often simply say "I don't check it regularly" or "I didn't get it". I would think that calling his office would be good start. I'd be surprised if he blows you off. The better docs know that rep and word of mouth is the VERY best marketing in this biz. Best of luck, buddy, in all this. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  8. NW: I recently got a reading of 1115 ng/dL. Compare that to the 718 I had before 1/4 Proscar a day, but take into account that testosterone levels do fluctuate daily. Explains the "more efficient" workouts. I gotta hit it hard in the new year. Been a slacker recently. Gonna heal up after HT #2 and push the weight pile and see where I can go with this. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  9. I'm sure he's no plant. Just quite down. Mahair: continue your course of seeking help from a top repair doc and proceed confidently. It sounds easy. And it is and it's your best shot. Please believe that everything can change. Then, take a chance at erasing what now so clearly torments you. And come back here and then post YOUR SUCCESS story. And chuckle about the past and look forward. Man, that is the only way to go. Don't be afraid to change everything for the better. I did and there are no regrets. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  10. otto, You made the right call if you are coming back at 117. I have my lab results for Testosterone on 4/2/02. The nominal range is 241-827, measured in nanograms per deciliter. I had a 718 that day. I will take another lab test shortly for tesosterone and post it here. I've been on 1/4 Proscar a day, give or take, for about 17 months now. Not sure how much it affects things now. Initially, I had a spike in libido. I'd say my libido is still very high, but I haven't been lifting enough recently or exercising in general, which might nullify and increase in testosterone via Proscar use for me. I guess we'll see. Just my experiences and what's coming up. After about a month of taking it easy after HT #2, I plan to hit the weight pile hard and take more measurements for comparison sake. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  11. u will b in good hands with Shapiro and Rose. Both are not only exceptionally skilled and caring physicians, but they also take pride in doing "repair work". I think that speaks volumes. Best of luck. Better days are ahead! vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  12. actually, i haven't seen a "portly" HT doc yet. Nothing that would impede their performances nor judgment. A lot of times, the techs place a lot of the grafts. And thankfully, they are usually slim, skilled, and doggoneit, quite attractive young women. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  13. I agree with Joecifus. MINIMUM 6 months. I'd say a year is better. My experience is though while regrowth is pretty good month 3-6, it REALLY does thicken up month 6-12. That might be worth waiting for before jumping into another procedure. You may find out that you want/need less grafts than you thought! And that's a good thing! vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  14. justin: I for one appreciated the candor of your post. I'm sorry you lost hair, and I hope it all grows back. I appreciate that you "told it like it was". Dr Rose will do a good job for you. SMG is top notch also. You convinced me to stay away from Avodart. I want to try it, but your experiences and research has dissuaded me. That's a good thing for me -- so thanks! Plus, proscar is working pretty darn well for me. I turn 30 on Feb 19 and head to Mardi Gras in the Big Easy on the 20th. Sounds like that week will be exciting for both of us! Best of luck! vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  15. Joe: Sounds like great stuff! Some of my hairs just never fell out, and began growing right away. Maybe that is what you are seeing? It was only like 10% of them for me, though. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  16. i guess increased testosterone may cause some excess oil in some people. I just hadn't heard of it until now. I fought acne for many years. Very unsuccessfully overall, I might add. I never had severe acne, but moderate, be sure. I sort of FINALLY grew out of it. Sometimes I "break out", but it is moderate, no cysts, and nothing too gross. Thankfully. Haha -- acne and baldness sucks big. I always knew the best days were ahead of me. Feels like they are right in front of me right now. Enough mushy stuff. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  17. I have to agree with hairy's general assessment of FIT/FUE versus strip. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  18. for me, tension was there for about a week, which limited the mobility of my head and neck. No biggy. A bit freaky, but it resolved and no tighteness for me at all in the donor area. Individual results WILL vary. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  19. i never was on Accutaine, but I know about it. Sometimes, Accutaine "cures" acne forever. Also, aging seems to alleviate acne. Proscar does not lead to an increase in acne in my case, and I really haven't heard of anyone who has had a "resurgence" of acne after starting Propecia treatment. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  20. your girlfriend probably does care. But she is doing the super cool supportive girlfriend thing. Totally awesome. You should do HT for yourself. Because it makes you more confident OR it helps compliment your personality and facial features. If your hairloss is bothering you at your age -- not an uncommon thing -- hit the Proscar and give Rogaine a try to. What do you lose by trying? And there is much to gain. Best of luck to you. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  21. quit and you will QUICKLY lose any gains AND if Propecia actually slowed or stopped your hairloss, you will "catch up" very quickly with that. That is a bummer either way. Stick it out unless you are having undesired side effects. Propecia has been one of my saviors in my stuggle against hairloss. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  22. otto: I am also a satisfied Dr Rose patient. I have many, many posts on my experiences. But my summary is that my life is not what is was. There are days when I can't believe where I was compared to where I am now. That is my opinion on my HT with Dr Rose. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  23. otto: I posted 10 months picts recently. More picts will follow in the near future. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  24. Almost 11 months to the day and I got ANOTHER INGROWN HAIR in the transplanted region. Guys, don't lose faith if your HT isn't growing in as quickly as you'd hoped. I seem to still be filling in. COOL! Only a month now to the 2nd HT via FIT. Very exciting! vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
