  1. well, i guess things have changed quite a bit since i last bought Proscar online. Can't seem to get the US Proscar without a script already written by a local doctor. Probably a good thing in general. A real bummer for me right now. I guess I'll use my Propecia prescription for now and continue to search for a doctor that will write the script. Maybe my general physician will. He knows that I've been taking Proscar for a couple of years now, even though he didn't write the script. Looks like you can get 90 Propecia for about $150. Guess that'll do for now. A little frustrating. Can't get a script for a drug that has worked a small miracle for me. And why? Because Merck wants to sell more of the more expensive form of the drug. My guess is that they are the folks putting the heat on the dermatologists about writing a Proscar script for hairloss. Rant off.
  2. I too am sorry to see prescriptionskeywest gone. They were about $300 for 100 US Proscar pills. About 75 cents a dose. That isn't super cheap . . . BUT . . . they shipped quickly and it was US Proscar and it WORKS for me. No more hairloss. I've seen two dermatoligist and both were glad to write me Propecia scripts but not Proscar. I guess Merck has really tied their hands because I could not convince them to write me a Proscar script. So I'm forced online to find something that works for me at a reasonable price. Propecia is not reasonable priced compared to Proscar. Sounds like drugstore.com is reputable. I'll try them. I do want US Proscar. Any other good places to get US Proscar online?
  3. Folks, Well, I haven't posted for a LONG time, but, I did use to post often. I want to say that I'm alive and kicking and that things are great in my life. I won't go through the long, drawn out story about what I've been through (maybe what you've been through, too), but I will say that there are days that I've said, "How could I have lived like that?" It is so different now. Everything has changed. Won't say that all my problems are gone. Will say that I have a new, better perspective on things. It is funny how you can reflect on how messed up things once were in your life when things start to head in the right direction. The difference is in the subtlies. I can say for me, that HT was the way to go. If you want some help, encouragement, hard facts based on my experiences: just e-mail me and I'll get it to you. Yes, I've got some picts too. In the meantime, good luck to the seekers of help and knowledge and a new perspective. To those of you in regrowth: Happy regrowth and keep up the knowledge. And finally: There is NO replacement for an educated, informed mind AND a highly-skilled doctor when treating your hairloss issues if HT is right for you. DON'T forget that and you will be okay. Take care,

  5. FIT into my scar worked pretty darn well. Haven't counted the grafts (haven't had to), but I'd say the regrowth of the 140+ grafts in it is pretty good.
  6. I quarter Proscar all the time. Lemme tell ya, don't worry about exact doses! Just average 1mg a day at least, and you are good. I quarter with a pill cutter ($7 at Rite-Aid) or a kitchen knife works really well if that isn't available.
  7. Looking good Justin. I too think highly of Dr Rose. The exciting part is upon you! Best of luck and I'm glad you had a great experience.
  8. Micro: Congrats on taking another plunge! You gotta get what you want. What you feel you can live with. That is some super aggressive work. You know, I know it'll look great. I know that adding another 1800 or so to "lower and close" my front would improve my appearance with my current facial features. I have no doubt on that. But still, I'm a NW5 waiting to happen. I'm staying with NW2 with good top density. Gotta save some troopies just in case some more weirdness happens with my baldness pattern. I respect the guts! I know you made the right decision for you. My second HT is almost 4 months post op and everything is going great! I'm relieved to be "done", and having a blast. Take care, thought I'd say "hi", best of luck, and happy regrowth!
  9. can't rush into this stuff. Sucks that the result is bad and hard to correct. Considered repair from a top doc, atw? vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  10. The point I'd like to make about Bosley or MHR is that some of their doctors may in fact be able to perform okay HTs and treat you well, but they aren't consistent. They have MANY dissatisfied customers and their "ways" of doing business are well-understood. Yet, there are many top docs with little or no negative feedback or experiences from HT forum posters. Why would you choose Bosley/MHR over a top doc? Why would you want to risk it? vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  11. Frenchie2001: Your experiences were almost IDENTICAL to mine during surgery! Interesting to read. Hope your post-op results will end up as good as mine. I'm sure they will. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  12. I guess a question still remains: Why would you risk going to a place that people has labeled as "butchers" when there are so many others that don't have that label? True, there could be anti-Bosley/MHR plants here. I guess trust comes into play at some point. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  13. i had a few of those after ht #1. They were in fact ingrown hairs. They healed quickly with a topical triple antibiotic. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  14. don't put a fantastic result at risk and the doc's good work by lifting too soon. "Too soon" varies for each patient. Man, at least a month and more if possible. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  15. I had scar revision at 5 months post op. Seemed to be a good time as the scar had "stabilized". vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  16. cloning WILL come out. Too much money to be made. When is it feasible for you and me? Hard to tell. My layman's guess is at least 20 years. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  17. Joe HT: Donor area looks excellent. Good stuff! vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  18. I agree with arfy: FUE has quicker "physical activity" recovery time. With strip, I'd wait at least a month and I wish I had waited 3. With FUE, I was playing soccer 7 days post op and lifting 14 days post op for the FUE into scar. I waited about 15-20 days after the 1135 graft FIT procedure to do any physical activity. You just NEVER know if the scar will stretch. You hope it doesn't because the doc is using top techniques for scar closure on you. But that is no guarantee. Why risk it? vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  19. Lavaman: I felt no stretching either time. I personally think months 0-3 is the most vulnerable time. The scar needs time to "settle". It is tough for active folks. Because if you like to run and lift like I do, the time off is a real "buzz kill". I waited over a month and still a little stretching. Guess that is just the way I heal back there. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.

    Pill Cutter

I have the exact pill cutter that arfy's pict shows. Bought it at Rite-Aid, go figure? I think it was $9. And it was available on a rack after I asked the pharmacist where it was. The cutter works great on even big pills, and breezes through cutting the Proscar if you give it one good, firm chop. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  21. garyr: it was 10 days before I tried dermmatch/toppik. I still had a few scabs, but I'd say less than 10%. At day 5, that was a good point to exercise caution. I'd say by day 5 your grafts have thoroughly adhered and your scabs will be dry and mostly holding on. I personally think a light brush on would be okay. I'm no doctor though. Ask him for his opinion on this. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  22. buy some Dermmatch and/or Toppik. They can work some concealing miracles. I highly recommend them. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  23. NC30: A good one. The more smiling and laughing you do during the "story", the better the story sells. I told a similar story when my scar was revised. I had too. Because my buddies were making me laugh, which stressed the sutured scar a little. So I had to cover my mouth some to not laugh so hard. So of course, it then became a sort of game to make me laugh. Bastards -- gotta love them. I think at that point, they could give 2 shxts about the story behind the scar. I was too entertaining for them at that point. vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  24. Futzy -- very good results just as was last time. Great deal. Now -- don't let your head swell. Unless you were serious about another HT. For about 2 weeks after that, if your head swells, I won't hold it against you. You've proven that NW5 makes a damn good HT candidate. And that long hair helps the cause. Hope the donor scar is in good shape. I remember you saying you had some concerns for a while on that. I feel a sort of kinship with you because I had a similar path. HT#1 produced life-changing results. HT#2 was more of a great thing. I'm waiting for #2 to come to bear for me at 1-month post op almost, but I have a lot of confidence in this process having seen what a great result you are having. Great stuff. I'm happy for ya, man! Long live Futvis! vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
  25. I was sitting in a plane and the guy in front of me removed his cap briefly and I saw a terrible, uneven and raised scar from a scalp reduction he had on his crown. What a shxt job someone did on him. Honestly, it looked painful. What BS that you go to have something like that done so you aren't so self-conscious and now that guy has that mark for life. Fxxking butchers. I wonder what he says . . . vocor1 Knowledge is Power -- If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared. -- The truth only matters if you know about it.
