  1. HTcurious, Growth starts at 4 months post op. I wouldn't be too worried as it's natural to loose the transplanted hair in the first 2 months. Who was your doctor?
  2. Thanks Bushy. That was a big help
  3. Hey, thanks for the tip. I just started using it on my thinnig crown and it works great. I'm just wondering, do you have to wash your hair before using minoxidil at night?
  4. Friz, I started losing my hair at the same age and started on rogaine immediately. When propecia came out, I started on that too. My hairloss slowed down and didn't have a HT until 33 to fill up the corners only. Looking at your pics, you're not bad. You have a good chance to accomplish results with medication. You're everdoing it with hiding your baldness because you're not bald. Quiting good paying jobs??? Are you serious? Many balding guys get dates and couldn't care less. I would've felt fine being bald or thinning. It just that if I could improve my appearence then why not... I suggest if medication didn't produce any improvement in a couple of years and it's still bothering you, then consider a HT from a top notch doc and you may have to travel for that... BUT and it's a big BUT, it's highly advisable not to have a HT at a young age. HT is a big decision. Take all the time you need doing tons of research. Again, balding or thinning is not devastating...
  5. BB, I think we're in the wrong business...
  6. Couldn't help but wondering if that thing would grow hair all over the body. Better yet, what if it grows hair anywhere but the scalp.. I suppose we could always do laser hair removal. Just kidding....
  7. Think about it this way. If it's maintaining whatever hair you have left, that alone is a bonus... Did you say you've noticed an improvement??? Then I think you should stick with it... Adding minoxidil will improve your chances... I use it at night only.
  8. Have you given minoxidil a try? You may be surprised... I use it at night only and I think it kept at a n3 for 12 yrs now...
  9. When transplantation is being done on thinning crown, is it harder for the grafts to survive because of other thinnig hair in the way??? Is it fair to say it's better transplanting a bare crown rather than a thinning crown.

  11. David, You want to go to a doctor who strictly does transplants. Be very very careful with your decision about who'll operate on you. Many top notch doctors offer travel reimbursment. It's well worth the trip considering it's a lifetime commitment. Do a lot of research on this forum. Good luck...
  12. SOAP, Congrats on your 3rd child Looking at your immediate postop pic, I'm wondering why he worked on the area where there's hair already. It seemed like you needed no more than 800 to fill the corners and about 1200 for the crown. That shoud've set you up for many years. Minoxidil and propecia could maintain your result for life... Are you going back to the same doctor for your next 1500 grafts? Good luck with whomever does your next procedure.
  13. Son of a plug, Considering your before picture, 3300 grafts should give you a full head of hair with a pretty satisfactory results... To be honest with you, you either did not get 3300 grafts or you've had poor growth or both... Sorry to be blunt about it, it's just my opinion.
  14. Check out malessentials.com. they have great prices on minoxidil 5%.
