  1. I took MSM for about 6 months and found that my hair grew a lot faster.
  2. As Robert stated, Rogaine does not inhibit DHT. Rogaine is more of a growth stimulant. Your best bet is to use Propecia and Rogaine.
  3. I'm assuming you have to be an italian citizen to get this insurance. I think it's a great idea. Sounds like they are the first country to originate something like this.
  4. I noticed that you wrote that you are not a good candidate for "fullicular unit extraction." What about for strip? If I'm not mistaken FUE is more so intended for guys with minimal hair loss. I've seen plenty of NW5 guys get great strip results.
  5. I don't know much about this doctor, but I saw one of his hair transplants grown out that he had done on Extreme Makeover and it looked good.
  6. I actually saw on the Discovery Channel that in Japan they actually have a surgery for shortness. They do something with cutting the bones in the leg and then fusing them back together. You have to walk around with a big screws and hardware sticking out of your legs for about 6 weeks. It looked pretty brutal.
  7. Any doctor should be able to prescribe you Propecia. Most will not prescribe Proscar, unless you have a prostate problem. If you use rogaine in conjuction with propecia you should get better results, especially since your hair loss just started.
  8. I saw the show and was suprised with the results from the laser comb. I also think the hair transplant looked pretty good. I think the older guy who used both propecia and rogaine was just too far gone for those products to have any regrowth for him.
  9. Your best bet is to find a few doctors recommended on this website that you like and consult with them. Then make your choice from there.
  10. Does Dr. Keene take two seperate strips in two days? In other words, one strip on the first day and then another strip on the second day. I have always read that one should wait at least six months or so before doing another strip procedure. Or does she take one very large strip on the first day?
  11. Robert, I know of an excellent website for rhinoplasties, which also has a discussion board. Let me know if I can post it on here or not. One particular rhinoplasty doctor that is raved about is Dr. Richard Davis in Miami, Florida. I have seen some very impressive before and after pics of some complicated revision cases he has done to where he had to use rib and ear cartilage from the patient to rebuild their nose back up.
  12. I have heard Dr. Steven Fagien in Boca Raton, Florida is one of the top docs for eyelid surgery. He is an oculoplastic surgeon, thereby only specializing in eyelid surgery.
  13. I have read numerous times that finasteride reduces body hair.
  14. The most common use I've heard of for flax seed oil is for constipation.
  15. I have heard of male pattern hair loss in people as young as 15, although it's quite rare. Your doctor probably won't prescribe you Propecia because I believe Merck indicates that you should be at least 18. I would stick with the rogaine and also add Nizoral to your regimen. Nizoral will help with your seborrheic dermatitis and will lesson the itching you experience from Rogaine. Nizoral also has some mild anti-DHT properties. And like the other poster had stated, get a couple of opinions from some other doctors.
  16. Minoxidil is just the generic for Rogaine, or Regain as they call it in Europe.
  17. I buy a hair multi-vitamin from Walmart made by Calif/Natural Laboratories. It contains Bitoin, Zinc, Copper, B12, etc. Probably the same stuff in HR-29, but for a lot less. The one I buy is only $3 and change per bottle.
  18. I would start Propecia. It's more effective than Rogaine. The best scenario is to use Rogaine AND Propecia.
  19. I have experienced a mild thickening of the crown after 8 or 9 months use of Xandrox 15. It also contains azelaic acid, which is a topical dht blocker.
  20. Sounds like you may not have male pattern hair loss. It sounds as though your hair loss could be the direct result of your underactive thyroid gland. I also know that an iron deficiency can contribute to weak thinning hair. Did your doctor run any thyroid tests on you? If so, what did he suggest as a possible treatment?
  21. I agree with the Moderator that you should attempt to use rogaine and propecia in conjuction, especially if you are young. I used to have an oily scalp all the time until I started using therapeutic shampoos. The therapeutic shampoos also helped with the itching I would experience from rogaine.
  22. I have been using Xandrox 15 for about 8 or 9 months now and I too feel it has thickened up my crown a bit. I have also recently added spironolactone (5%) to my regime which I also use in the crown along with the Xandrox 15. As someone else had mentioned, Dr. Lee appears to be very reputable.
