  1. Thana - thanks for the detailed instructions. I just placed my order for the nanogen, so I'll give it a shot when it comes in. As for the dermmatch, I've been applying it wet and I have found that applying it when it is dry, is quite hard. Any suggestions? I'm going to try and work the Toppik in with the dermmatch for now and see what results I get.
  2. I've read that Rogaine can help jump-start the growth process and some doctors recommend using it for a few months to do so. When I've used it in the past, it didn't really do anything for my crown except give me some light peach fuzz. Any experience in using Rogaine (on the transplanted areas) with good results? Also, have you stopped using Rogaine on that area and did it increase the rate of shedding post-op?
  3. Thana, The pics look great and you definetly are doing a great job applying the products. I tried using some Toppik yesterday on my front 1/3 and it looks fake. I guess the hair just isn't long enough yet. I also tried dermmatch and it looks like paint on my scalp. Any suggestions?
  4. Thanks for the advice Spex. Yesterday was my first good night of rest in awhile! Yup, still applying that aloe vera twice a day
  5. The abs exercises make sense, since you are "pulling your head upwards. But how about something like leg raises which works the lower abs? When did you start lifting after your procedure?
  6. I'm going to start getting back into the gym this weekend with some light cardio. Any suggestions on what specific exercises to warm up with as I get back in the gym i.e. curls, pushdowns, etc? I'm going to start with light weights. I've read on these boards to stay away from squats and definetly agree. Any other things to stay away from?
  7. Thanks for the advice! I am going to start Mederma today and hopefully it will work its magic. The only hassle of this is that it needs to be applied 3-4 times per day.
  8. Had my staples taken out yesterday at Dr. Feller's office. I must say, there is a HUGE difference in how you feel once they are out! Has anyone used Mederma or any other such product on the scar? I'm currently applying Aloe Vera and was wondering when I could start with the scar treatment. Any suggestions? Also, I've updated my blog with Day 10 pictures to track my progress.

  10. Looks good overall. Before you know it, those bad boys will be sprouting.
  11. Bill, Thanks for the comments. I'll have to give it a shot tomorrow once the staples come out.
  12. Bill - Any idea how long the recipient area hairs have to be for any of these concealers to work?
  13. Some pre-concealer pics would be great for a true comparison. Not quite sure how much growth you have right now, but looks like a good head of hair from here. How long does the recipient hair have to be for nanogen to be effective? I have stubble right now and not sure if it would work for me. Good to hear that you are living life, have fun tonight!
  14. Thanks for the input guys, I'll give the dermatch a shot this weekend? Any good tips on how best to apply it for a natural blend?
  15. From what I've been reading on the forums, this is completely normal. These grafts have been intact for awhile, so no need to worry. I started shedding at the 5/6 day mark, no blood or pain either.
  16. How is the scar healing up? Also, what are you doing to hide it, if anything?
  17. Its been a week since I've had my first HT and I will be going back in the office next week to have the staples removed. Once they are out, my first stop is my barber to buzz the remaining part of the top, side and back down just enough to look presentable and cover the scar. Any advice on this? Also, I've been a long-time user of Toppik and was wondering when I could start using that again. Has anyone who is further in the hair growth cycle used any concealers and had any negative effects in growth. The last thing I want to do is to use something that will harm the new hairs.

  19. I'm actually in the same boat regarding the sides of my head. If you look at my pre-HT pictures, you can tell the sides are noticeably thinner than the back is. I'd be interested in understanding why this is so as well. Good to hear that propecia has been doing its thing for you. Why would you need to stop Propecia if you are not experiencing any of the negatives?
  20. Yea, don't think I can pull off the staph infection look, lol. The skiing one is a good one! It wouldn't be too bad if I didn't have these staples in. Luckily, they are coming out in a few days, so figured I would buzz my hair down and then take it from there. On another note, how good id dermatch in hiding the scar once the staples are out? I figured I would blend some of the scar area with Dermatch and then try to make everything on top as even as possible and then apply Toppik. Thoughts on the best way to apply these two? Any other interesting ideas?
  21. So, far its been 7 days since my op. I stayed at home with my folks for the first few days, but went back to my place and have been here since. I live with 3 other people and they all have been wondering why I'm constantly wearing a hat. Personally, I don't want anyone to know. Any recommendations on what I could say? Maybe that I had a small accident and got stiches? Your suggestions, as always, would be appreciated!

  23. yup, pretty much keeping busy with other things. However, I am very surprised that it started only 5-6 days post-op!
