  1. Lol, I'm actually deciding between the same two surgeons myself.
  2. Well, I don't have a certain amount of grafts targeted. I'm sorta just going off what each respective doctor determines is necessary. For instance, Dr. Rahal recommended 2,200-2,500 grafts. I'm not shopping based off of price, but like I said there are seemingly drastic differences in prices for the same amount of grafts from various reputible doctors. To pay an extra $3-4K or more just doesn't make much sense to me. Brussels? Wow! I thought going from California to Ottawa was far, lol.
  3. Yeah, I know Rahal is very good, but that's the reason why I asked about doctors in the states. I have a hard time swallowing paying an extra $1000+ in Canadian taxes, plus the travel, accomodations, et cetera. I've gotten a quote from Rahal and I would be paying roughly $3000+ more for a procedure with them than I would with a good doctor charging $7 per graft in the U.S. Just doesn't make dollars and sense (pun intended) to me. Sucks, why does it seem life's choices always have to be this way. Why can't I be knocked off my socks by someone that offers me everything I want, lol? Seems like I have to give alittle, get alittle with every decision. Cheers
  4. I've heard good things about his work. Question? Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't he charge $10 per FUE graft? Also, any thoughts about the Shapiro brothers in Minnesota?
  5. Would love to hear your opinons on who are considered the best FUE doctors in the United States in terms of yield, quality and density. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
  6. I've experienced insomnia for apx. 5 years since I've been on propecia. However, I've never definitively determined that propecia was/is the cause. What I generally experienced was a sort of "anxiety" attack (rapid heart rate/adrenaline)while lying in bed that would wake me up out of bed. I would be interested in finding out if anyone has had a similiar experience. I don't know if even the folks suffering from MPB realize how consuming a thing it is. Going bald/losing hair/shedding is constantly on the surface of my mind, which in turn produces stress, and suppossedly stress perpetuates shedding. It's a vicious cycle indeed. Again, I don't know if propecia alone causes insomnia, but I have a feeling it might exacerbate an existing condition. I cannot drink caffiene anymore as I'm ultra-sensitive to it. I always have a box of non-habit forming sleeping pills for those restless nights. However, I would like to say that I've kicked caffiene recently (diet sodas) and I've been sleeping pretty well recently FWIW. Hope this helps
  7. Bill, I appreciate your response. Thanks for the advice, I may give it another try. I'm asian/irish with black hair and fair skin. When I applied the Dermatch the first time it was very fake looking. I'll give it another shot.
  8. Hey folks, I'm new to the board. I stumbled upon it after looking for info of any kind on Dermatch. After viewing some of the responses and seeing/reading how convinced some board members here were about the product, I went ahead and bought it. After recieving it, I was eager to try it out and see what it could do. I've been using Toppik for years with great results, but like others, I agree that it can get messy and dull looking. So now I'm looking for some hints on how to properly use Dermatch. I tried applying it once, and it was a monumental mess. I was left unimpressed as it just looked really fake to me (too dark). Question? Do some Dermatch users just apply it dry onto the scalp? Should you use it after getting out of the shower (wet scalp)? This was the technique I used, I also wet the applicator. Thanks for your help.
