guys, this FUE thingy! it seems so perfect, why don't more people get it done? How does a doc determine whether someone is FUE feasible? also, lets take the hair present in the horse shoe pattern part of the scalp. it pretty much does not aid in any kind of styling so why cant ALL the hairs from the horseshoe pattern be extracted using FUE & implanted somewhere on top? it would also yield a significant number of grafts... I have read a lot of posts on FUE but none of them give a concrete answer as to whether its effective or not. help me out guys!

Alternative to Spray Mist

Are hair sprays safe? I remember reading an article which mentioned that the alcohol in them causes your hair to become brittle! Any other recommended hair spray which can be picked up from walgreens? -
Diffuse thinners! Calling all doc's!
whymewhy replied to dakota3's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
great question! I am a diffuse thinner & have always been confused whether or not to go under the knife! The reason being shock loss. I dont want to end up looking worse than what I was before surgery. Although I have decided to go with H&W I still am very confused whether to go ahead or not. The problem is with the native hair. Unlike the normal MPB pattern I do have a lot of native hair which I don wanna lose due to surgery! On the bright side as Bill said diffuse thinners make excellent candidates! going by what I have seen on this forum & my personal case I dont think my scalp would need tooo many grafts to make a significant cosmetic difference. Even lesser number of grafts placed fairly widely apart would give me very nice coverage ( assuming my native hair does stay after surgery). This hope makes me take the necessary steps towards scheduling my surgery but again! the killer called shockloss! -
questions guys! 1. Does a doc vary the density of the grafts which are placed or is the density the same all over the recipient area? "Important areas" can be identified which need a higher density & more grafts could go there. Any part of the scalp which fits the high density class? 2. My hairline is in tact & based on a miniaturization study is pretty thick. I have diffuse thinning behind the hairline. If my hairline does not need any work how many grafts would I save? Basically how many grafts does it take to create an average looking hairline? 3. Does shock loss depend on the density of the grafts being placed around weakened hairs? lesser grafts means lesser chance of shock loss or does the incision itself result in shock loss irrespective of how many?

how should i approach?
whymewhy replied to whymewhy's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
hairlosscure! Thanks for the detailed explanation! It makes so much sense! I do understand shock loss would be a major concern in my case. To overcome shock loss I have been on propecia for close to 2 years & am contemplating surgery now. I have not had much hair loss during these 2 years so maybe propecia will help with the shock loss? Your right about being conservative with the number of grafts. Thats why wanted to see a few pics on the forum or in person to see what can be expected in my case. I am really not convinced whether surgery would work in my case? :-( -
Hi Guys, My hairloss is quite different than most guys on this forum. I can describe it using the below picture, although this is female pattern! my hair loss is currently similar to grade 2 in this image. I do have good amount of hair in my hairline though. My question is how should this be approached? My hair loss started at the center of my head & started moving outwards. So, if a transplant is done should it start outwards & move towards the center of my head!! Most HT's I see on this site are for typical MPB where they cover the first 3rd of the scalp & then proceed with working on the vertex & crown. In my case how should it be approached? I couldn't find any pics similar to my case on the forum.

LaGrange`s Journey Part 2 "The Crown"
whymewhy replied to LaGrange's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Wow! this looks really good. The area covered seems quite big. Will the grafts give him enough coverage or would he have to use some concealers? Was the doc able to harvest only 2243 grafts from the donor or did he think that 2243 should be enough to give good coverage? -
thinking seriously about hasson & wong

Thanks dewayne & hairthere! I am in california.. I have been saving up for quite sometime & do feel that I have enough to go through the procedure. When I visit the doc I should be able to meet a few people who have gone through this. -
Easier said than done! it is really frustrating to go through hair loss. It does not matter what age you are but its more frustrating when your young. Jupiter, hang in there! you are definitely not alone....
