  1. i would have to say this is a good question. i know if i had a ht, i would want that information in my hands. but i would probobly say that this would be almost possible to figure out. if you were to go for a follow up appointment to see your graft survival, wouldnt there be atleast 10% be in the talagon(spelling?) phase meaning that not all your grafts are up at the same time meaning it cant be calculated? iono
  2. Hello there Reedo and welcome to hair transplant network Im sure what you are experiencing is Normal. but before i go on, i think it would be better if you had pics we can look at we understand that u received 2700 grafts but that number is a little useless unless we know the ammount of hairloss u had example if u was a nw5-7, of course 2700 is gonna be real thin but if u were around a nw2-3, 2700 should be just perfect you are only at the 5 month mark and u have alot of growing to do, growing only starts at probobly the 3 month mark, so u can say your only 2 month in. you should see your results by 12 months but its maturity can be seen at up to 18 months. and about the scar that u seen from the guy sitting infront of you. hey its something that we give up to get more hair upfront. im sure u were aware u would receive a scar, but alot of people would be happy to have a scar in the back for hair on top of your head think of it like that and hey dont be sad for the guy infront of you who wishes to show his scar i guess he just grew tired of the hairtransplant process and man'ed up and said hey "i dont care what people say, im gonna live my life the way i want and not let my past affect me" *and when i say he was tired of the hairtransplant process, he might of had the process done along time ago or was put in the hand of a butcher, BUT YOU were put in the hands of a top physician!* hope i helped
  3. Hello guys another question from me i want to perm my hair so my questions are Will perming my hair cause any damage to my hair? i understand that supposedly the only thing that "kills" your hair is DHT, but i misunderstand when people say that hairspray, hair gel and any other hair cosmetics products(is this the right term)make you lose your hair...is this true? and also im not 100% sure but a reason i want to do it is because i have a real feen to just have my hair permed. i also beleive it gives off more coverage and feel of density...do you guys think this is true? BTW if you guys dont remember my pics, i am probobly a norwood 2, slight recession at hairline, and a bad ht in these hairline but im hoping the perm will overlap this area and this is my last question, probobly off topic but im going to hong kong in Winter for study abroad program(learn new experiences) and i was wondering if i plan to go there and come back, will there be a problem if i carry my minoxidil and proscar? im sure there isint but its worth asking thanks guys!

  5. hair greed is definitely the culprit... i was just looking at your 1 year after 2ht pics. you dont look 40 at all, prolly can pass off as young as 30...that fresh haircut added to the youth. im sure if u get 3500-4500, youll be more than satisfied, my only concern would be that youu would look tooo young, but that aint never a problem!
  6. im sure irish homer meant more in the lines of people not noticing the full results of an HT. but my input would be that the need for hair is all in our heads... i remember a teacher us a task to do, he was like try to draw someone that is really close to you...and by gosh i couldnt do it, everything became a blank. i tried to remember face first, body size second, eyes, nose, and im sure the hardest would be remember how a person's hair is
  7. im very curious on how this turns out im not sure but these are one of the more rare cases or atleast i havent seen much on this site where someone gets help in the crown and not in the front it looks like his other areas are thick, just worried i guess. but from what i can see 1500 should do the trick just giving my input GOOD LUCK!
  8. Not a stupid question at all. "If I do this, and take propecia as well as use rogaine, will there be results? " when you say this, please remember that the definition for results has a different meaning when talking about these medications. the main purpose of propecia, is to PREVENT future hairloss. and while rogain(minoxidil) is meant for hair growth, its best to just hope that you use it keep your hair and not hope for staggering results. i use minoxidil and i see results toward the crown, a little bit more thickening. now on to your situation, you say you want to buzz it to a 1 or 2. i see not problem with this, i aqtually think its a good in regards to applying medication and other reasons. if you are to apply rogaine, the liquid is hard and messy if your hair is longer, and your hair soaks in the liquid when its suppose to be applied to the scalp. Also an advantage of short hair, is that you are able to see your progress much easier, with short hair u can take pictures every month and see how you react to the meds. also one bit of information before i post, i hear that you have a better chance of reacting to the meds if you are younger, and since you are young, youll react quite finly peace
  9. i just reread the post if you were taking steroids, there have been proof that steroids do increase hairloss. i forgot where it was stated, i just know its been said many times
  10. i am not familiar with the products you are talking about, but im assuming its some type of products you would purchase at GNC. i agree with the other sayings that it would increase testosterone and possibly increase hairloss. some argue that it wouldnt affect it too much, not much studies have been made. i lost hair taking creatine. im not sure but i would recommend possibly taking stuff that cleanse the system, i think you can purchase it at GNC also, but its expensive. or possibly drink alot of water hoping it cleans it out the system. (since u said it last for 3-4 weeks, im not 100% sure, i just thought id throw my opinion)
  11. Hey sups Bill i see your cheating every month...updating 3-4 days early haha well all i gotta say is great results, nothing less than extraordinary im looking at the Picture 7 month update outside no flash and i can see that the texture is the same on top as in the side, which is AWESOME BUT i just want to comment/ask is your frontal 1/3 dense? it seems like it can be see through? nothing big and im sure its not noticable, its just that you know on a hairloss forum, we look at everything so im just asking, does it feel thin? and is it more noticable than it aqtually is in the picture? Also last question i couldnt find this anywhere are you still able to pull any more grafts? you have about 7000 grafts and your results look perfect, and i dont beleive you would want/need another HT, just out of curiousity thanks
  12. lets see i am not paying pat to be a physician on this site... I CAN BE YOUR DOCTOR!! come to me i only charge 20$ a graft hahahhahaha
  13. first of all to upload more pictures you can either reply to your own post and upload a pic in each post. or sign up for a profile with the site and u can upload future pics and show how your ht process has gone. its good so we can see before and after pics about the doctors, it may be a big list, but its a good list and any doctor that you choose from should be wonderful just get an online consultation with 3 doctors and youll get a feel of who you want to be your doctor. as jotronic mentioned, we need to have your age you look very young. from my prospective i had a bad ht at the age of 20 but have gained experience and insight from it. while many people think young people should not get ht's, it does not mean you should not go along with it if you are young and want to get a HT, you MUST, MUST, MUST , MUST be informative of what the whole process is, and what its about. you MUST PLAN, and be CONSERVATIVE at first because your donor is so limited. well the general rule is that you usually do your norwood scale and multiple it by 1000, and thats the number of grafts you need. from the one pic that you gave i would estimate 2250-2750 grafts what is good news is that your hair characteristics is curly which should give more coverage peacee
  14. honestly i would NOT call that a bald spot. i think 90%+ of all people have that, its just that your hair is going in all different directions and thats the point where it seperates for example a cyclone, there is nothing in the middle as everything swirls around it also it may seem to be a bald sport more than it is if there is light directly above the hair when u take the pic take the pic with no flash and no light and youll see more hair surrondings
  15. the first thing i did was looks at the pics and i was worried because it was obvious that you have really thick dense hair and i thought it would look wierd not placing alot of grafts with it. but then i saw that you placed 1800 will blend in with your other hair new hairline looks excellent. i just want to mention that your old hairline wasnt so bad, you were probobly at worst a norwood 2, which aint bad at all i think but of course people have thier reasons to get a ht. happy growing, im sure youll be excited about your results =)
  16. Introduction well basically i try never to look at my hair in the mirror when i come straight out the shower(hair is wet) but yesterday my curiosity was killing me and to my surprise my hair was not good wet it looks like im a diffuse thinner when my hair is wet, which isint good for me cause my hair is long and dark so id figure id get more coverage if my hair was wet. so my question to you guys is when labeling yourself on a norwood scale, does wet hair have a role in it? for example like my hair dry i wuould label probably label myself around the norwood 2 region but when my hair is wet its not a norwood 2, iono where im going with this im probobly asking this because i just want to evaluate myself in the best way possible when planning my future HT's also my question is those who are highy resistent to DHT, those without MPB, do they have the same characteristics of us with wet hair on top? or do they look like a mop on top of thier head? i would like to show pics but im having problems with my camera thanks for the help
  17. "The only thing is it might get costly if you have a lot of hair." i dont think anyone would mind having alot of hair =)
  18. let me just put in some input i think we have come so far into the hair restoration process that we forgot what we did it for. we did it for ourselves to feel more confident and happier. while yes i may agree the work is sub-par, and i agree that he should go to a coalition doctor for future work. its just that it seems we are bashing him but he is happy so we should be happy for him just thought id type in what i was thinking
  19. just to add i dont think hairloss is that serious of a problem where u have to get help from someone else through transplant...
  20. WHERE IS THE CHAIN IN THE SECOND PICTURE!?!??! haha jp amazing differences, i bet your patting yourself in the back that you went along with the HT's
  21. Thanks alot guys for the support and feedback, greatly appreciated. i was just waiting for something before i posted and that was to choose a doctor and give him an email for the update i was originally contemplating Dr True but because he did BHT but i beleived it may be a bit traumitizing for someone to get a BHT at a young age..iono so i chose dr feller i gave dr feller an email for a quote and everything. i havent got the email back(i just emailed him) but i guess ill be scheduled for next Summer. if anyone can help me though i just want to know how many grafts i should get. Feller originally quoted me for 1000-1200 grafts but i believe i only need approx 750. i seen Spex who acheived great results with Feller for 900 grafts and he had more area covered...iono does 750 sound good?
  22. I read somewhere on this forum where feller did repair work on a person who flew in from UK. this was done several months ago so u wont see the full results. what i suggest you can do is use the find feature and hopefully get some hits
  23. Hello there this is Tisab, again, well to be honest my name is basit...tisab backwards, just didnt want my name put out like that on the internet but for future references call me tisab, i got accustomed to that name on this forum well ok let me give some background info before i post pics and ask for advice well i am 20, turn 21 in June well lets see i was afraid of losing hair and just jumped the gun and got a pretty bad job by some dr in florida. 500 grafts and it was old school tecniques no one on this site knows him and yes i live in new york...and was dumb to go to florida but that was before i knew about this site now that i been on this site for approx 4 months and soaked up alot of info*time sure does pass by quickly dont it? i am currently taking rogaine for 3 months, and i see amazing results in the crown area and midscalp, my hair grew out thicker and hair growth, and it acts like a thickening agent so for example if i apply it and 3 hours i hair dry my hair, my hair looks thicker than if i didnt use the rogaine. i am currently not on finasteride, i want to get proscar but i can not get a prescription from my doctor...so that is why i want to choose a HT doctor and give some type of deposit now and he can give me the prescription, i dont want to go to my first doctor, i dont want to have to do anything with him no more as of lately i havent been nervous to give out my advice as to those who are new to the forum and i give my input but i ussually dont say it in the most clear way, AND THEN THERE COMES Bill WITH MORE SUGGESTIONS AND PERFECT ENGLISH!! TAKING MY CREDIT!! I HATEE YOUU!!!! haha jp haha when i posted for the first time approx 3 months ago, i posted that i wanted dr feller as my 2nd ht doctor he suggested i get approx 1000-1500 graphs this summer coming(2 months from now) and he said my scar was placed to low and if i would get another transplant he would place the strip above my scar meaning i will have 2 scars *this made me sad a bit cause yea...scars are bad and two scars are even worse* well this is my current prespective, at first i wanted to get the HT done this coming summer, but i wanted to put it off. as of right now i plan on getting my 2nd HT at the summer of 2008 the reason i wanted this is because if i can push off my 2nd ht, i can push off my 3rd ht and ill be patient for my 4th ht. it gives me the will that i dont have to touch up my hair whenever i see a little imperfection. i have chosen to do smaller transplants as opposed to mega sessions cause...i just dont know i just think thats what i want to do...anyone think its a good idea or bad, experience anyone had and when i say smaller transplants, i mean atleast 1500 i do not want to say its a waste to do less than 1500 cause some people need little fixes but those who are destined to go farther in the norwood scale, its a bad choice i think cause of the pain of the surgery itself and the time from healing and stuff well here are the pics I have more hairloss on the right side of my head. there is a big significant difference does anyone know why one would have more hairloss on one side of the head as opposed to the other? my hypothesis would be something about exercise, like if your a righty, i heard the left side is more flexible and the right side is more where the muscles build and something to that sort, iono maybe you guys know well and the 2nd to last pic is a picture of my hand...yes i have alot of body hair...lmao its funny i was laughed at for having so much hair as a child and now that is my problem is that im losing some on my top...ironic well the picture itself is somewhat of a "MODEL" to show everyone that hair does grow unevenly, and that even hair that is not transplanted grows at different rates, so when you shave down your head expect full head results after a year, even if u dont have a ht, again, all hair comes out at different rates, haha i wrote some pointers but they are so small so i didnt want to bother, you guys get the point and also i showed a picture of my chest. the reason i showed this is because i am considering to implement BHT into my fight againt MPB. i trimmed my chest hair(like Bill and others have said i just like having a cleaner look) well i would say i am between a torso index 5-8 which would give me from my guessing atleast 3000 grafts. or around, can someone clarify if they know, i read the whole bht post but it doesnt clearly specify it ok guys now here is where the big part is where i need your help. my two decisions are to go dr Feller summer 2008 and get 1500 grafts, i do not want dense packing so i might get less, i want approx 30 cm square, i dont want to waste my donnor supply my 2nd decision is to go to Dr True summer 2008. i would get 1000 from my donar area and 500 from bht, i have came up with an idea that i keep the ratio of strip:bht to be 66%:33% what do you guys think of this if i were to go to dr feller i am afraid his results are gonna be so good im gonna go to him for future HT's and not go with my bht plan And last but not least, the reason i chose to have BHT to help me against MPB is because i wanted to fill in my scars via FUE. i wrote alot and i probobly have more to write but im curios on what you guys have to say
