  1. not being mentioned before was a realistic assesment of the patients donor area. If someone has x square cent to cover or fill in, they have to take into consideration the finite donor supply. Dr Rose touched on this but i think is the most important thing to address before someone requests, or starts transplanting at a high density per square cent, kinda assumes there will no more hair loss
  2. there is quality work to be done in the metro area, but u should not be limited by geography
  3. grafts per square centimeter is a hot issue, different doc's have different takes on it, some say 25, some say 40, do some reading on past posts, going to vary w/ each individual, shaft diameter, texture, straight/wavy, etc, and what one man would consider acceptable density, the next may not, has to be discussed w/ any potential doc in my opinion
  4. pharm companies have the right to make a profit if they can, but if u can get it covered by the hmo, then by all means, the insurance companies are the evil ones, and dropping seniors from their plans
  5. ematt, u talk about your procedure as if it happened 2 days ago, and i'd like to know what doc told about dense packing and what is what every good doc gives now, the 50 per, when doc's were packing that tight w/ micro's and mini's, which i am skeptical about, 50 per was not even imaginable, and certainly not what every patient needs or should strive to get, sorry if u got micro's in the last year or 2, but u are not telling anyone here something they don't already know
  6. if u must go back to work and don't mind, thats cool. But the issue is the sedative. When i had my last procedure i walked out 6-7 hours later, and had worn off, and i drove myself home thru Manhattan in rush hour. But looking back, was not the smartest, stay if u can
  7. he amy be too far gone guys, hope not, cause there are people to help if u can read through the nonsense
  8. i can see a difference harry, but i think it would say more with your hair cut a bit shorter, too many hairs going ary for me to see a difference too much. And u don't have crown or anterior(think thats what its called) so a nice tight cut will in my opinion make u better, even before u had the work, but everything i see up front looks completely natural
  9. that is certainly true in my case, and prob mosr i've read so i would have to agree, but you will hear of people as early as 16-18, and people as late into their 30's
  10. actually don't bother, sell it to someone else JG
  11. coming out and saying you had a good experience is one thing, reciting the disertaion that you put forth is quite different. There are some people on here talking about great experiences, but they are kinda few and far between. But that is what help is all about, telling about the good and the bad
  12. missing alot? I think the victim is missing, maybe in excess of a thousand grafts
  13. just went back and read a little more, why does the words, BEST KNOWN, and MOST experienced in the world have to be bolded and capitalized at every possible oppurtunity???????????????????????? I could be run cuz, but sounds like stinkin pile of *&^%&C%E ^V*& to me
  14. hate to see someone's livlihood suffer like that center, but if they did back work on someone, they deserve all they get. With what we now know about procedures, what works, what doesn't, what does, it is negligible to do otherwise, kinda like smoking and drinking while pregnant. I didn't read every single word of your post but"best known in the indusrty" jumped out at me????? First of all, i'll bet not more than 1 or 2 people on this site could recite the name of one the "celebrity" staff at the tulsa clinic. I have to wonder what motivates you to be such an advocate of this infamous clinic? If you feel that were treated fairly, courteously, and are happy with the work, thas great, more power to you. But if people are still doing back work in the last year or 2 deserve to burn
  15. some people recommend 8-10 months, i would say wait at least a year, you still may be popping new hairs at 8-10 months, and a certain amount of healing should occur
  16. Dr eliiot works in california, and dr true in NY, from what i understand their is much different philosophies between the 2
  17. Dr True may have even transplanted more hairs than dr b, but dr b has more time doing fu's, according to spencer k he says dr true has been doing true fu's for the last year and a half, what price per graft were you quoted from true?
  18. thanks arfy, you have been the single most helpful person i have encountered here and elsewhere
  19. rich, don't take ANYONE's advice. Do your self a favor and read as much as you possibly can on the subject of HT. Then after knowing how it works, read this site and others, take people's personal account of how their experience was w/a grain of salt, but remember who they said was good. Then pay attention to people who talk, and document w/ pictures their experience. The narrow it down and get a consult and try to see patients in person. As far as price, don't skimp and make a big mistake, but after educating yourself, i think you will find the best doc's are also the most reasonable
  20. i am sick of intentionally trying to sit against a wall, avoiding people looking directly over me, etc. Still have bit up front, thank god i never touched the hairline. My last procedure by a recommended doc on this site said that his micro's and minis working around them would hide the old work, but didn't. This particular doc's work was good and really pretty undetectable, but the old plugs are still quite noticeable and doll like. Thinking of just punching them out and have them redistributed, there is a small amount of pitting. Every doc has differing opinions on hiding old work. Spoke to dr feller and he said to leave them and work around, just want to be done w/ it, not let it consume my thoughts and my seating arrangements
  21. doesn't take an expert to say thats not even close to 1200 grafts
  22. my loss pattern is somewhat unique, complicated by the old plugs in the crown. had another procedure in 97 that doc said would cover, and of couse dodn't. Anyone start their work in the back and work forward? My immediate concern is the look of my crown. Conventional wisdom addresses the hairline and the forelock first, and then if anything leftover touches up the crown. My recent thinking has the 20-30 plugs excised and redistributed. Am getting married in next 20 months, don't want to look like a freak, and budget is tight, and want to cover up, cut out, nuke the back of my head so its not noticeable. Anyone similar and work from back to front?

  24. you obviously have done your homework and have an analytical backround, are you dr puig? By the way, did Dr Puid graduate from P.U.?
  25. also pat, do you find this guys results acceptable? To me he looks thinner than before. Possibly shock fallout????? Lets take agent x208 for example, he was able to significantly lower his hairline and thicken by from what i can see about 40-50%. This is the problem i have w/ my last doc, not completely dissatisfied w/ the work, but did not get nearly the coverage as was advertised. I mentioned this on another post, all respectable docs should have a couple of full size dolls heads w/ some hair jackhammered into the heads w/ different levels of density. one representing lets say 20 grafts per square centimeter, another at 30, another at 40 and 50. This would clear up many issues for potential patients, and you would have less people saying damn, wish i found this site sooner. To date we have no grown in pictures of all these examples on this site or any other, amybe we should. To me, the Limmers did this guy an injustice, and need a talking to(not by me though, LOL)
