not a doc but there are many many factors that will slow the growth in a scarred area. That being said i would think at 9 months there should be SOME growth. Look forward to the docs response here, and the response of the doc that did the work as i am hope he has been made aware

hi guys, not trying to start a new thread on celebs who have had work done. There is nobody that is going to say anything to make me change my mind, this guy has had some work.(Just saw him on tv, and reconfirmed everything i had thought because they actually went back and showed him raising his racket after a big win in 80 something) He has a slighly better hair line than he did when he was winning us opens in the 80's, not that it is lower, just that the temples are slightly fuller w/ a more squared off hairline. But even more convincing to me is the fullness behind the hairline. He wears a bit of a comb forward look, but everything looks really full. He was in my mind looking back in those pictures of him in the 80's toward a N6, but has obviously gotten some 1st class work done, a little bit at a time(could be wrong because he was out of the spotlight for a while), but does not look dramatically different than he did. Kind of rambling but does anyone agree? This hits close to heart for me because that is what i would like to achieve for myself. Have had some work done in the crown area and slightly forward of that and never touching my hairline of which i have a little bit left, thank god because i think there are very few who can give what i would hope for and expect. If and when i do something that is exactly what i would be looking to achieve, no lowering of the hairline, and w/ the pattern that my hairloss has progressed, i am convinced that is my best course of action. I know everyone here can feel my pain or they wouldn't be here,but anyone else have a similar situation?

steven segaul definately!!if you look at his hairline in above the law, then his recent, its about an inch lower, and no temple recession

ok guys, i'm not talking about George Clooney, Tom Cruise, or even the disillusioned Ben Aflack(spelling prob wrong). Who looks good w/ a mature hairline that still looks impressive? To me someone like David Letterman, who wears it short, w/ obvious thinning and recession looks pretty good the way he does. Jim Belushi who still looks like he's "hangin on". NBA coach Larry Brown, who has gone very far back but still looks younger than he could, if what he had left was much thinner, or if he had a Joe Biden. But I think what these guys have in common is a pretty full crown despite recession, anybody agree?(obviously crown being close to my heart)Anyone else that I'm missing?

i experienced some major flaking after rogaine. The stuff is really high in alchohol content, like rubbing a stridex pad on your scalp. My dermatologist said he had patients that experienced irrepairable burns to their scalps. I personally think my scalp has is 100% more likely to flake since I 1st used it. By the way, only used it for 9 months, and that was years ago.

Hi Dr. Feller, i never said one couldn't achieve density, maybe someone else, but what I question is what is the appropriate level?i just brought that up on a different thread. Now the 2nd gentleman you posted to me seems to have a more aesthetically acceptable result. Is that because the 1st gentleman's side recession? Could that guy benefit from a blending of some fu's on the side?

Now after reading these you told us that your doc was dr charles, is he a shapiro guy? I think you would have a legitimate beef to be brought up w/ Pat, and Dr. Shapiro himself., or if I'm wrong about the group, how bout spencer??!!

this guy panther5000 is asking every paient and doctor, on every different segment of this forum about his situation, dude why don't you go consult w/ another doc in the area, see what his assesment is, or count the grafts, you seem way to worried, without someone seeing you in person I dount anyone here will be able to help

Does Dr. Shapiro do the work himself or are there other docs and technicians doing the work and Dr. Shapiro just runs back and forth between them? What gauge needle or blade is used? I know there was at least one or two from the east that went out there, what about the travel, anyone drive? And did you consult by email or the day before? I've seen the prices but any surprises? if he said singles were a waste on a very bald area, why did he or the techs waste the time to cut the singles? sounds fishy to me, but I will wait to hear what the guru's have to say on this one.

When I put the question out, it was after reading about many of the recommended docs treatment plans and knowing the gold standard is follicular units they still prefer to use a minimal amount of mini grafts? I have to admit that i really did know the answer, but I was hoping that one of the docs still utilizing these older grafts would chime in and give their rationale, which i already know is density, but perhaps could expand a bit beyond..
