  1. Dr. Limmer also did the second skin dressing for me. WONDERFUL! I had mine done 6 months ago. Almost no scabbing at all. I had front temporal region (highly noticeable area) and by day 7 my dating life had resumed with no detection. The second skin is basically a dressing filled with ointment that keeps the scalp constantly lubricated such that no scabs can form. It amazes me that others have not joined in on this process!
  2. What is up with that dude in the "submit your own photo" section of this site who claims he was horribly disfigured by a procedure from Dr. Brandy? Is it really has bad as it looks?? He also says that Dr. Brandy told him that Brandy would not do FU transplants on actors and models, anyone know if that is true???

  4. How come I don't hear much about a "second skin" dressing. I had NO scabbing from my transplant because the doctor used a "second skin" dressing. Essentially it was a neosporin type ointment that was bandaged in place for 48 hours. He said (and he was right) that the scabs wouldn't be able to form if the scalp was kept "moist" with that ointment. That sure seems the way to go - but most docs, even my own, don't seem to use it. It was only suggested to me as I repeatedly expressed concern about scabbing. By day 6 I was out dating and NO ONE ever noticed.

  6. This concern is way over rated! I had planned to shut down my personal life for a month. I stockpiled plenty of food. Told everyone of a snow skiing trip across country and of a terrible upcoming work schedule. By the next day I was driving around town with a ballcap. No one noticed. Three days later, I began dating again - again with ballcap - no one suspected anything. Predinose and almost no swelling. I tried an icepack one time, but it gave me a headache. I just slept upright. On the sixth day the ballcap came off. On the sixth, seventh and eigth day after surgery, I was so confident I went on three different dates, out to restaurants, no one noticed or suspected a thing. And believe me they are the type that would notice! I also had no scabbing. I had a "second skin" bandage for three days, which kept the skin constently lubricated with antibiotic ointment. Between days three and six, I just waited for the pinkness to fade. A little hair covers any remaining pinkness very nicely. It is so light anyway, only I would notice. I am caucasion, fair complection. I hope this helps. I too had judiciously studied the many pictures of guys looking messed up for weeks. Eyes swollen shut, scabby heads for weeks. This concern almost overrode my decision to get the transplant. What a shame that would have been.
  7. I am concerned about the lingering redness after the transplant. My wife has a skin colored cover type liquid makeup ( I am sure it has a regularly used name - but I don't know it!) that she uses to cover red spots, blemishes, etc. Is it possible to use these types of makeups to reduce the redness following the transplant? How long should one wait before using such a product? Anyone have any recommendations or experience? Thanks.
