  1. I was wondering which Dr did the work and was it an all FU transplant? How many grafts? Thanks.
  2. I went to Dr Jones in Jan 03 for a strip procedure and he is a very good doctor. His staff is professional and most importantly he is honest and does cutting edge top quality work. If I ever need anymore work I won't think of going to anyone else. Best of luck to you.
  3. I'm thinking that even though Greco's work looks pretty good that he isn't recommended because he is a Physician's Assistant and not a Dr. He is working under the supervision of a Dr but he is not one himself. Also, I noticed on his site he talked about 2 strips would be removed in the procedure. I hope this doesn't mean he uses a multi-bladed knife, because if so this means he is not doing a state of the art procedure.
  4. I experienced the post op redness and so do most guys who have a light complexion. Nobody noticed the redness but me, it really wasn't all that noticeable unless you were close and focusing on it. It probably looked more like a slight sun or wind burn.
  5. Dr Bernstein's rep is certainly good. However, I found he was very difficult to access. I would give Dr Feller a call and also Dr Jones (Canada). I went with Dr Jones and I'm very satisfied. Both are accessible, use all FUs and lateral slits. Plus I think you'll find they are both priced considerably less than Dr Bernstein. Also, nothing against the pioneering work of Drs Rassman & Bernstein but I think credit for all FU procedures goes to Dr Limmer and Dr Seager deserves the nod for mega sessions. Best of luck to you.
  6. I think the wet noodles your referring to are parts of the epidermis "skin shaft" of the graft. From my understanding you may see more or less of this skin colored noodle like element based on how deep the grafts are placed. Once it drys out and heals this falls out. Hope this helps.
  7. My scabs were all gone by 6 days post op and the majority of the redness has disappeared as well (I'm 21 days out). The majority of the grafts have also continued to grow and haven't fallen out. I think the spray and shampoo and moist packs were good. I didn't like the Iamin Gel, it was so thick it caused a problem with the plasticy way it left my hair in back. I'm also amazed at how using the spray and shampoo have also gotten rid of my dandruff (completely). I was so impressed by this that I bought the Tricomin spray and shampoo and plan to continue using them.
  8. I had my procedure 2 weeks ago. I'm active duty so I took leave and can wear my hair long enough so the scar isn't even visible. According to my Dr (Dr Rob Jones) in a couple of months I should be able to go as short as a 1/4" without a problem. As for basic, yes your scar will be visible and they'll likely "mention" it. Tell them you were in a car accident or something like that. You'll see scars on lots of heads for a variety of reasons so I doubt it will be that big of a deal. Just try and stealth in the group and the scar will be the least of your problems. Best of luck and it's good to know that I'm not the only one.
  9. I agree with Jotronic there does appear to be a line of something on the scalp behind the hairline. While I realize the possibility that this may be nothing, I would pass on ANY Dr where you have ANY doubts. Realize if a Dr puts a picture on their website it is going to be what they consider to be their best work. So if we can quickly find questions with the best work what does the worst work look like? I'm now 11 days post op from Dr Rob Jones and I couldn't be happier. The vast majority of my 1800 FU grafts haven't fallen out yet and they look great. I still expect them to go, but I'm very happy about my decision to travel to Toronto versus accepting the local option which was of a lesser quality for MORE money.
  10. While I know I didn't want to lose any grafts, my Dr, (Dr Rob Jones) warned me that it's not that unusual to lose a couple. Luckily I don't think I lost any. I waited 4 days to shampoo and was very careful then. If you only lost a couple though it stinks in the end a couple of hairs won't make a difference. Best to you.
  11. I had a 1800 FU strip procedure with Dr J last Friday. I went to Toronto for the procedure because none of the Dr in this area including DiStefano and Leonard use outdated procedures. Dr J uses the latest techniques and you'll save a bunch by going to Canada. Best of luck to you.
  12. Shapiro Medical Group sent me a nice brouchere that gave very detailed pictures on the number of grafts that would be needed according to your Norwood class. Of course, an important point is that hair shaft diameter, color, characteristics are also an important corollary to how many graft you'll need. Just my opinion I'm no doc! Good luck to you.
  13. I'm in Toronto at the moment and Dr Jones is doing my HT today. I'll send you an email update when I return. DiStefano doesn't use all FUs so I would stay away from him regardless of cost. The ticket up here from Manchester NH was $228 and the Holiday Inn is very nice and really close to Dr Jones' office. More to come.
  14. The Propecia price doesn't look bad, but you can definitely beat the Minox price. Look at www.costco.com they offer a 4 months supply of generic for $20. If you have a Costco membership you can get it off the shelf or the offer the Rogaine brand for $49 also. Good luck.
