  1. I'll echo what sparky said and take it one step further. Does she wear make up, anti-wrinkle cream, high fasion shoes or clothing? Is there anything that bothers her about herself? What if she lost some hair? Would she wear a wig? Think about getting a HT herself? People are often quick to critize w/o thinking about being in the "other persons shoes". If she can honestly answer ALL of these questions above with a NO then she is a better person than most but I have a feeling she cant.

My wife is exactly like yours but shes very contadicting. She thinks that anyone who tries to alter thier appearance is fake and insecure, but she wears make-up and puts on an acne mask every night. She also buys expensive purses like Coach. So what does that say about her??

Have you explained why you want the HT? Did you tell her because you wanted to look younger? Or because it would help you feel better about yourself? I find the latter excuse could be a little easier for our spouses to understand. Good Luck!!

  2. Dr,

I hope you are not offended by this comment, but this guy looks aweful! For how bald he was and how many grafts you used the result looks fine, but it doesnt look like a natural hairline or balding pattern which makes a transplant obvious no matter how natural the transplanted hairs appear. I will say for what you had to work with you did a good job and if you made it abundantly clear that this would be the result than you are off the hook but never the less the end result isnt very appealing.

  3. Advice: Stay as far away from all of those places as possible. Also if you have some pics you should post them here for further advice. Generally at 23 years of age you arent going to have to many people tell you it's a good idea to have a HT done. You are to young and a consistant pattern propably hasnt shown up yet. The best advice you can get is to start Propecia and Rogaine to stabilize hair loss. Hopde this helps.

  4. I would definatly say to shave your head and see if you can live with it. The earlier in life you start losing hair the greater the chances are that you will have extensive balding. Younger guys will often say they will not care as much when they are in thier 30's or 40's about thier appearance but I am living proof that this is just not true. I have been losing my hair since I was 20. I decided to have a HT at 28 thinking that this will be the cure to my problems. Now 3 years later I have lost more hair and have done enough research to realize that because I was so young when I started to lose my hair that chances are that I will never be able to keep up with the progression of hairloss to satisfy myself. You have people here saying that some is better than none but IMO this is also not true. A shaved/bald head is acceptable in society, but having hair just in the front 1/3rd and being completly bald in the back 2/3rds looks wierd IMO and looks 10X worse. Listen man from experience, shave the head and save yourself from years of heartache. gauranteed!
