so this means propecia doesn't work for me???
Not at all! Some experience E.D, some experience a surge in sex drive, and some dont change at all. Everyone is differant.
-
Sounds like it would make sense. The smaller the needle the less chance for transecting in dense packing it would seem. Care to share who this doctor is?
-
You guys are'nt alone. I wont get to far into it but propecia can have the exact opposite effect in 2 differant people due to thier unique body chemistry. Im in my 30's and have been on propecia for 5 years. My sexual stimulation grew expedentially when I started taking it, but others have just the opposite effect. Hard to explain.

Never heard of this doctor but if Spex isnt telling you NOT to go to him then I assume he has heard of him and is giving you the thumbs up???? Is this true Spex??

Top down pics? Looks good from the front at 6 months!

Labrat69,
I understand that you are giving an example on bad hair transplant surgeons, but I just don't think what you said falls in the same category. A butchered head is not the same as 20 million lost lives.
Please don't take offense to this but the comment makes me sick to my stomach.
Labrat69, Im sure you meant no offense by your comment but Im sure you can see how that could offend someone. There is really no comparison there.

Congratulations on your choice of surgeon. I have no doubt in my mind you will be happy with your results! BTW I bet after a couple of months it will be impossible to find that scar. Even immidiatly after it looks phenomenal.
-
My vote would be for Dr. B

It's funny because I look a their pre-HT photos and wonder how they could possibly get any worse than that
Labrat, These guys are all in thier 30's with a high degree of balding before HT's. It is not unlikely that they could progress to NW7's. So yes it is VERY possible that they could end up needing more donar hair that some of them just dont have.

For 2500 grafts I'd say this is a pretty good result. I'd be interested in seeing recent scar pics. Dr. Mohebi do you use deep sutures as well as staples? The reason I ask is because in the after pics it looks as though the staples are spaced pretty far apart and it seems more tension could be applied to the scar with fewer staples. Thanks in advance for your response.

hairshare,
These are some of the best results I've ever seen, and I've seen alot. You must be over the moon. H&W must have some special tricks up thier sleeves to produce such phenomenal results. I would almost say that it appears you never had hairloss at all judging from the pic's. Good for you man!

Dr Meshkin,
Did this gentleman have native hair on top? Did you shave it before the pics were taken, or was he completley bald? The reason I ask is because this appears to be a phenomenel result with only 2100 grafts used.

aaron1234,
Dewayne had his procedure done quite a while ago "about 2 years". He just hasnt updated his blog in a while.
-
dakota3 could be right about finasteride losing its effectiveness after a decade or so. However, I do remember Dr. Rassman saying that he has never seen a man go completely bald while on propecia. Of course, he hasn't seen a patient go from his 20's to his 60's either.
Also propecia hasnt been around for all that long.
-
wait up...where are you getting these facts from???
Its common knowledge! Ask any of the docs here. Propecia only slows the process.
-
Propecia loses its effectiveness after 10-15 years so whether you take it or not if you have a NW6-7 balding pattern or are heading in that direction you will eventually lose all the non-transplanted hair anyways. All propecia does is slow down the process. If you are destined to be a NW6-7 you better well make sure you have atleast 10,000 grafts available in your donar before having a procedure done, or you better have a really good doctor who can use your donar to the best of its ability so it looks like a natural balding pattern and age appropriate when your older.
-
Yes I agree this is an excellent result. Nive approach. Very natural and very conservitive considering he is only 23. I would like to see top down pics if you've got them.

I feel bad for this poor guy, but he's in great hands now and Im confident he'll achieve his goals with SMG. Good work Janna!

Would you look who it is !
Great write up.

That said, a few have reported aggressive shedding with the foam, moreso than the liquid
I can confirm this. I switched from liquid to foam 3 years ago and almost immediatley I noticed a ton of shedding that never grew back. However I havent noticed any loss since.

Dr Hitzig is a douchebag and a liar to the least. Anything so much as affiliated with his name has lost all credibility
While I cant comment on Dr. Hitzig I can on Dr. Cooley and he's got A TON of credibility here. Im sure Dr Cooley is a little uncomfortable that so much has made of this already considering all they are doing is concentrating on repair patients as of right now. They need to do more research if/before they introduce this as solution to hairloss.

The reason that I regret mine is that I have minor pitting on top of my head, I have a strip scar on the back of my head. Mostly the strip scar bothers me. I cannot shave my head without exposing the scar. Also, I have felt trapped because if I lose more native hair eventually the grafts will look unnatural.
Hair transplants require existing native hair to look natural to some degree. Even if hair is dense packed on top of a bald head, what happens when there is more recession down the sides? There is a gap, which of course does not happen in nature. Therefore it locks you in to a neverending cycle of either worry or denial about the future.
My plan is to laser out all the grafts when the time is appropriate.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of people really do NOT understand all the downsides of this procedure until it is too late. Hair transplants? Wish I never heard of em.
DITTO!!

Judging from your pictures I dont think you should lower your hairline at all. Just concentrate on density and fill in those temples and you should be a happy camper!

I think this looks great!!! How far along is this gentleman? It definately helps that he has blonde hair as well.
