  1. They also happen to do the best results in one session. Forget numbers just look at results. Show me shapiro's best result and I'll show you 10 better from H&W.
  2. That's quite an articulate and well written piece of prose worthy of an MD himself. To suggest that it in some way does not relate to H&W and is speaking of the broader HT community (a community that Pat himself acknowledges rarely delves into the sort of graft counts of H&W) is ridiculous. I scoff at the idea of two sessions somehow being ok and even - *gasp* - better for the patient? Two years out of ones life spent hiding under a hat, looking, quite literally, like an ass. Then you have the ridiculous clowns come on here proclaiming Shapiro as the saver of people's money. No, he's not ripping people off. I wonder though how much more two sessions as opposed to one would cost (when you factor in the discount pricing scheme of most clinics for larger sessions). Bottom line is results speak louder than words. You guys can justify your positions all you like but at the end of the day, its H&W pulling people out of NW6-ville, and there isn't a single clinic in the world who's managed to do that as consistently or even on par even with their best cases.
  3. 3200 isn't much if its all over your head. You can't compare yourself to other cases where the 3200 were packed in the hairline only because the hairs that are going to grow will grow spread out, rather than in close proximity.
  4. How long did the surgery last? Are you staying at Grandville island?
  5. Hi Darren, Just head over to H&W in 12 months and get this over with in one go. PM me if you want to see my incisions at day 5.
  6. H&W are the most well documented clinic on the internet. There are numerous 3rd party photos available throughout this site and virtually every other hair transplant related forum on the internet. Here is a link on their website of the personal blogs: http://www.hassonandwong.com/patient_gallery/hair-transplant-stories.php You will notice if you take the time, that it includes average patients - average laxity, average shaft thickness, etc.
  7. Great video! I'm surprised at how good you look given the post-op photos. You are very lucky to have excellent donour hair. I'd say another 2000-2500 to get rid of the thinning when dry. Maybe 3000 depending on how it looks in the sun. If you can, I'd go to a doctor overseas somewhere.
  8. Those results are looking awesome, you've certainly had *alot* of growth since the 3 month mark.
  9. Most people lose most of their hairs at the 2 week mark, depending on how hard you rub in your showers. I recommend that you don't necessarily rub them. What I do (which works well) is lather up the area with 1 finger, let it soak in for 5 minutes, and then glide the finger in the direction of hair growth a few times. That got most of the excess skin buildup (which looks like bad dandruff) off in a couple of days.
  10. You didn't lose any grafts unless you actually saw some blood. The little hairs always shed and some of them will have a black bulb on them, or white excess skin. Anyway I've sent you a PM.
  11. Don't go to bosley. Also, location should not be a deciding factor when choosing your HT doctor. You have to remember that this is a result you will have with you for life, and certainly the discomfort of flying to another state/country for a few hours the day before your procedure is relatively minor when you weight up the potential consequences of not doing so.
  12. How big of a red spot are we talking about?? What about a pimple sized one?
  13. Shockloss is pretty irrelevant if you plant in the front only - which is the only thing you can really feasibly do with 2800 grafts. You can effectively write off the hair you have in the front because it provides little cosmetic value, and even if you lose it all, 4000+ grafts would produce a superior result.
  14. Yes, very common. H&W, Feller and/or Armani are clinics I've seen produce 4000+ on a regular basis. If however, you want numbers, H&W are the way to go. They can do 7000+ grafts in a session if your donour permits it. I personally wouldn't want to do the whole thing twice. There is no medical reasoning behind the several sessions approach, merely the fact that the clinic doesn't have the facilities to cope with such large procedures.
  15. If you've already had one bad HT with bosley, why take the risk? You only have a limited amount of donour hair, why would you risk having sub-par results to save a couple of bucks and an airfair?? Why not go with a doctor with a proven track record? That's the closest thing to a guarantee that you have, because no one will give you one in writing.
  16. I think at your age it doesn't really matter unless: 1. Your hairloss is very fast and very aggressive. 2. There's a chance your donour will thin out if left untreated. The above can be "guessed"/approximated based on family history, although this is rarely completely accurate. You should probably raise your concerns during the consultation. In person consultations are always the best, as photos are very deceiving.
  17. If you're a NW5 you should be pushing for 4500+ if you can get it. That's with good donour hair aswell. If your donour isn't as good as biscuits then you'll need more grafts.
  18. Trojan You need at least 4000 grafts. There's no conservative argument when it comes to a NW5 case. Conservation comes in when planning where to place the hairline (how high, how receeded and how dense). What you don't want to do is get caught by a doctor whose clinic can only do 2000 graft cases and as such they'll recommend you get this number, knowing full well that you'll need a second surgery with them in a years time. If you get the 4000, you won't need to leave the crown. Generally, people of your nationality tend to have quite thick shafts and their hair is often of fairly high quality - but you should consult with a doctor in person if you can to confirm this. I recommend you don't factor in travel when choosing your HT surgeon. The difference could mean multiple procedures, a less than perfect hairline, subpar density, etc. Choose something that you feel most *safe* with, go for consistency, naturalness, and coverage! Also you should get on finasteride if you do go forward with the HT.
  19. Johnnie, Do you mean like the dark blood rings in this picture: http://www.hairlosshelp.com/forums/attachments/post%20o...%201%20cropped%2Ejpg It's not really a trail though. Is there a reason its dark blood and not the usual red?
  20. Hi Andrew, It's fairly typical to have some blood at 3 days post-op, including dry blood. You could post a photo and see what people think. As for the hot water, I'm really not sure. How hot are we talking about? I know it's ok to use warm water, you should probably ask your doctor this question.
  21. The red dots close up quite quickly. If you want to shave to a number one then do that without getting a HT! No surgery is scarless and it will depend on how many FU's were taken out, and your skin colour as to how detectable the procedure will turn out.
  22. I would definitely wash it off at the end of the day, without a doubt. There have been some reports I've heard of poor growth from guys who would leave it on in the back for many days. This was heresay and the supposed case was a case of Dr. Hassons. It was mentioned on another site and I haven't confirmed it with the clinic but I think, if you can, just don't risk it man. Cheers.
