  4. AznGuy, I see you created a photo album without any photos. Are you intending to add photos to this album or do you want me to delete it?

  6. Without getting overly techical, blades to make recipient incisions have gotten smaller, grafts are trimmed thinner under microscopic dissection, follicular unit grafting is standard and can be densely packed close together when appropriate for the patient, donor closure techniques have been improved upon (including the development of the trichophytic closure technique) and the average session size has dramatically increased.

If you aren't up to speed on the latest advancements in surgical hair restoration in the last 10 years, I recommend doing some reading on this community :-).

Dr. Rahal is definitely top notch. I hope you'll share your experience and photos with us after your procedure with him in early June.

  7. Anouar, I'm certainly not trying to convince you to go back to Dr. Limmer. But a lot has changed in 11 years and I have seen larger session examples of Dr. Limmer's work. Dr. Rahal also does excellent work and I trust you'll be very happy with your results and his dedication to patient care.

  8. Thanks for updating your profile picture. Is that you?

  10. Sabby,

I just saw your post on another member's blog and forum. So when are you going to share your surgical pictures with us from your hair transplant with Dr. Arocha? :-)

    Looking forward to them,

    Bill Seemiller (Falceros)

  11. Anouar,

I am under the impression that Dr. Limmer does procedures larger than 2500 grafts when appropriate for the patient in a single day procedure. Perhaps I ought to give them a call and confirm.

The majority of the physician members of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians do sessions between 3000 to 4000+ when appropriate for the patient. In addition to Dr. Limmer in TX, I strongly recommend consulting with Dr. Arocha. He has dozens of examples on this forum, many of which are session sizes between 3000 to 4000 grafts.

    Best wishes,

    Bill Seemiller (Falceros)

  13. Anouar,

Dr. Limmer definitely does sessions larger than 2000 grafts when appropriate for the patient.

I do encourage you to update your profile picture so that you are better identified than with the statement "no photo available" :-)

    Best wishes,

    Bill Seemiller (Falceros)

  14. Dr. Limmer can do larger sessions however, I'm not sure what their maximum is now adays. Of course, how much can be performed in a single session also has to do with a patient's donor characteristics. Dr. Rahal is also an excellent choice.

By the way, what happened to your profile picture? Did you remove it?

  15. Anouar,

Thanks for updating your social profile and sharing your photos. From your photos, it looks like Dr. Limmer did a nice job. However, in most cases for men with extensive hair loss (including me), multiple procedures are needed for reasonable density and sometimes coverage. It took 4 procedures to meet my goals, and even still, I could certainly use more density in the crown and below it.

I see you are planning for another procedure. Are you going back to Dr. Limmer or will you be choosing someone else?

    Best wishes,

    Bill Seemiller (Falceros)

Thanks for sharing your hair loss story and hair transplant experience. I also recommend posting it on our hair loss discussion forum to garner input and advice from our members. In order to get the most feedback, I recommend posting some photos of the surgery and areas you are concerned about.

The hair transplant procedure should be virtually painless, so it sounds like your physician didn't use enough anesthetic. Either that or it wore off quickly and they didn't administer more promptly enough. Shock loss (even excessive shock loss) can be normal however, I understand your concerns given your discomfort during the procedure and other questions. The only real thing you can do right now is wait to see how the hair transplant matures. But if you'd like an assessment of your current state, feel free to consult one of our prescreened hair restoration physicians. To see how we prescreen and recommend hair restoration physicians, click here. You are also welcome to share your experience and photos on our forum.

  20. Yep, unfortunately, there's really no way to stop spammers from registering and sending messages to people...even the mail order brides :-P

It's similar to how on the old forum, members would join and spam the forum with links to promotional garbage. Now that we're a true social community too, there are even more spammers to deal with.

Sorry about that. I've removed the user and thus, the private message has gone along with it.

That's the problem with hair loss. It's progressive and for those who have it, in time, more is lost and concealing it becomes more difficult. Remind me...are you on Propecia or Rogaine to help stop any further progression?
