  1. Jjjj,

The NeoGraft is just a machine, not a technique. There is no such thing as a "NeoGraft surgeon". Thus, it's better if you select a surgeon based on a proven consistency of results. Learn more about the NeoGraft machine and how it's been incorrectly mass marketed and hyped as a miracle technique by clicking here.

  3.

    dsppushpendra,

It's really a matter of personal preference. I've talked to some balding men and women who like Toppik the best and others who like Nanogen. In my opinion, both are excellent products in helping to aid the appearance of thicker hair. To learn more about each product, how they work and to purchase them at a discounted price online, visit our discounted online hair loss treatment store.

  4.

    Jordy,

In my opinon, consult with Coalition member Dr. Pathomvanich who is performing state of the art ultra refined hair transplants in Thailand with excellent results. Feel free to research our hair restoration forum to see his results and see what his patients are saying.

  6. HighTopFade,

Not many Norwood level 7 patients get hair transplants because they conclude that hair transplantation won't meet their long term goals. As i said previously, men with such extensive hair loss can never achieve full coverage with any real density. So those who do proceed with hair restoration surgery typically target one area of the scalp (typically the hairline) while foregoing others (typically the crown and below).

Best wishes in restoring your hair,

    Bill

  7. HighTopFade,

It depends on how you define "successful". Hair transplant procedures have a very high success rate when performed by a top notch surgeon. But whether or not a hair transplant will meet your goals given your extensive hair loss is another story altogether. A Norwood level 7 will never be able to achieve great density and full coverage even under the best circumstances of having the best donor hair. Most Norwood level 7s will focus on the areas that concern them the most leaving the other areas untouched. To see examples of Norwood 7 hair transplant patients, visit http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Share-Info/hairloss-photos-byClass.asp?Class=7.

    All the Best,

    Bill

  8.

    HighTopFade,

I'm not sure what your hair loss situation is like however, everyone who experiences baldness starts somewhere, not just the actual experience, but how they feel about and deal with it.

I remember how I felt when I first started thinning and balding in the crown. I was in my early twenties and wanted nothing more than to stop it from getting worse and eliminate the thinning area. As things got worse, I wished for the days I only had slight thinning in the crown to return. Today, I'd be completely bald on top if it wasn't for the 4 hair transplants that I had undergone. While my hair is much thinner than it was in high school, I have the illusion of a full head of hair in the front with a thinner crown and back. It's still thinner than it was when I first started balding, but significantly fuller and thicker than it would be if I hadn't done it.

Those just starting to lose their hair, especially at a young age may be upset about their hair loss, but the reality is, they're not good hair transplant candidates. But, I don't think dismissing how they feel is appropriate either. Hair loss affects everyone differently and if you are ok with yours and your confidence isn't affected, more power to you.

    Best wishes to you,

    Bill (Falceros)

  9. HighTopFade,

If you are referring to the select few hair transplant patients with unrealistic expectations, I agree with you. The reality is, while hair transplantation can be an excellent solution for some men and women with hair loss, it's limited in what it can accomplish. Most patients will never be able to achieve a full, thick head of hair like they used to have in their high school glory days. But for candidates with realistic expectations who want to restore a natural looking head of hair, even though it may appear thinner, hair transplant surgery may just be for them.

    Best wishes,

    Bill

  13. Jeetpanesar,

I'd strongly recommend consulting with Dr. Madhu who is recommended on the Hair Transplant Network for his quality results and high standards of patient care. Feel free to use our hair loss forum to read patient posted experiences and examples of his results.

Best wishes in restoring your hair,

    Bil (Falceros)

  14.

    Dontjudgeme,

If I had to do it all over again, I would have opted for two larger procedures by physicians experienced with doing megasessions like Dr. Hasson and Dr. True. However, when I first started my research, larger sessions weren't as common and I wanted the convenience of going to a local physician. I was happy with the results I received from my first surgeon too, but it woke me up to the reality that I needed much more to meet my goals.

As for cost, I've had over 9600 grafts and spent approximately $30,000. The good news is, most patients don't need (let alone have) that many grafts and the costs would be reduced if you're a candidate for larger hair transplant sessions. Moreover, I felt comfortable justifying the costs given that the average American spends approximately $30,000 on a new car every 5 years. I just kept my car for 10 years and spent no more than the average American. Besides, cars last only a decade or so while my new hair and restored confidence will last a lifetime :-)

    Best wishes,

    Bill (Falceros)

  15.

    Campbell,

Welcome back to our new and improved discussion forum and social community. I hope you find all its features helpful and useful.

I assume you meant Dr. Alan Feller in NYC?

We do recommend many quality physicians in California. To see a list of those we recommend, click here. I recommend viewing each physician's recommendation profile and researching our forum to view patient posted results/experiences for each physician. I'd also recommend contacting those physicians you're most interested in to discuss consultations and pricing.

Understand that each physician has their own philosophy for providing state of the art hair transplant surgery. But each physician recommended on the Hair Transplant Network has proven to produce excellent results. Finding a physician whose philosophy and demeanor is compatible with yours takes some time and research. This is something you will have to explore and find out on your own.

If there's anything else I can help you with, don't hesitate to contact me.

    Best wishes,

    Bill (Falceros)

  17. Arun,

I did receive your photos via email and responded with my comments. I do encourage you however, to share your experience and present your photos on this community for others to read. You can create a blog, photo album, or share them on our hair restoration forum.

in order to maintain any benefits from minoxidil on your natural hair, you will need to continue using it for a lifetime. However, minoxidil is not required for your transplanted hair to grow. If you are using minoxidil as an attempt to expedite transplanted hair growth (even though it's not proven), you won't need to use it beyond a few months. However, any benefit your natural hair receives form the minoxidil will cease as soon as you stop using it.

    Best wishes,

    Bill (Falceros)

  18. Arunpattara,

Congratjulations on your recent hair transplant procedure. I encourage you to share your personal hair transplant experience and document your progress with photos on our community.

In my opinion, Dr. Madhu is an excellent physician and performing high quality follicular unit hair transplants in India. If you are considering him for your second procedure, I encourage you to consult with him after your first hair transplant has a chance to fully mature, which takes about 12 months after the initial procedure.

Best wishes in getting the head of hair you deserve,

    Bill (Falceros)

  19. Tom,

In my opinion, Dr. Madhu is indeed an excellent physician. But in order to determine if you're a good candidate for the procedure, I recommend consulting with him and/or other quality physicians you are considering. If you'd like to send me photos, feel free to email me at help@hairtransplantnetwork.com.

    Best wishes,

    Bill (Falceros)

  20. Rami,

You can begin taking Propecia at any time and the sooner you take it, the better chance you have at saving your natural hair.

I don't see enough of your scalp to classify you on the Norwood scale. However, I'd suggest you're quite possibily a Norwood 5A. Click here to view the Norwood scale to classify your hair loss.

Best wishes on getting the head of hair you deserve,

  21. rajax,

Thanks for your comment and congratulations on your upcoming hair transplant with Dr. Mohmand. I am confident in his ability to provide quality follicular unit hair transplantation and believe you will be in good hands. Just be sure to speak with him about all your concerns, have him answer all your questions and learn what you can realistically expect from your hair transplant before proceeding.

I encourage you to share your experience and photos on this community after your procedure.

I look forward to seeing your transformation!

  22. RVenkat,

Propecia appears to be relatively safe however, there are no real long term studies on it since it's only been around as a hair loss treatment since 1997.

Ultimately, the choice to get on Propecia is yours however, if you don't consider proven non-surgical treatments, hair loss is likely to continue.

    Best wishes,

    Bill (Falceros)

  23. Rami,

Sorry for the delay in answering your question. Propecia shouldn't do anything to affect the growth of transplanted hair. However, it's very probably that those who don't take Propecia will continue to experience the effects of pattern baldness and lose more natural hair.

Regarding your hair transplant, 1200 isn't a significant number of grafts. However, if you are concerned about your growth and you're a year or more post-op, I'd suggest consulting with your physician about your concerns. If you're still within the first year after surgery, it's important to give your hair transplant a chance to mature before evaluating the final results.

    Best wishes,

    Bill (Falceros)

  24. rvenkat,

Welcome to our community and thanks for your comment on my profile.

Propecia should indeed reduce the amount of hair fall and even potentially thicken areas all over the scalp however, it's technically only clinically proven for the crown. Regrowth of truly miniaturized hair is rare, but it is one of the best medical defenses against future hair loss.

Feel free to ask any of your questions on our forum as well, share your experience and view and read others.

I look forward to seeing you on the forum.

    Best wishes,
