Midwest00, Thank you for the positive comments. Grafts are strategically placed to "shrink the crown" by reinforcing the"back sides", (lateral humps), as you have noticed. They were not put in the middle-I will evaluate this patient's hair loss yearly. He has 6 more months of thickening and growth and I will post at 9 months. Sincerely, Dr. Keller

Thank you for your interest in this patient. A few lucky people can obtain this transformation with surgical and medical therapy. As you can tell from this patient's donor region, as seen in the trichophytic scar photo, his hair is like rope. This patient has the best hair quality for hair restoration. Most of his hair groupings were bulky four hair follicular units. I maximized the appearance of density by utilizing dense packing in the front hairline and used less density in the mid-scalp with careful shingling and then utilizing a staggered group array towards the back, giving the image of coverage. This patient experienced thickening of hairs in the mid-scalp with medical therapy. The patient was supposed to have a second procedure to add density in the mid-scalp and crown, but has been satisfied with one procedure so far. Sincerely, Dr. Keller

40 year old with 4V patterned hair loss who had approximately 3,850 grafts transplanted, including a touch up utilizing approx. 700 grafts to repair a childhood scar. Density of grafts varies with approx. 40 grafts per cm2 in a feathered and shingled density placement in front and with a larger graft placement in a natural staggered array of 35 cm2 in regions behind the framework. This is one of the most pleasant persons that I have worked with and I believe this procedure has enhanced his appearance greatly. Photos shown are pre-op, post-op and 15 months post-op.

Raphael, Thank you for the positve comment. In a class 5 hair loss pattern I usually make the crown smaller in this pattern, so that if there is future hair loss it does not look dense in the middle and weak in the periphery (a halo pattern ). My patients are usually on propecia before surgery unless they have other concerns. Sincerely, Dr, Keller

34 year old, class 5 thinning pattern hair loss, who wished to have a conservative hair restoration of only 2,500 grafts. The patient wishes to follow his hair loss yearly- so far he has not progressed his hair loss pattern and is very pleased with his restoration. 95 additional grafts were obtained. Total grafts utilized are 2,595 grafts. Photos shown are pre-op, immediate post-op, and one year post-op.

chrisdav, Gandolf, Davis91, Cartesian, Future_HT_Doc, jimmybald and Bucksred thank you for all of your positive comments. They are really appreciated. RCWest thank you. The patient is maintained on finasteride. The patient did not have the best hair characteristics, (very straight & fine hair), but it looks like he will have great results. He is looking forward to his 12 month post-op results.
