  1. Another lost thread. Would be great to see how this went.
  2. Thanks for the replies guys. "How would the recipient area differ than that of a strip transplant?" -It would not I believe. I am more concerend about the difference between planted and non-planted hairs. And not really on a hair to hair basis, more as a whole. If you look at a transplanted graft individually I am sure you will have problems setting it apart from a native graft. Its more the transplanted area as a whole. If a section of your head (frontal 3rd) for example is transplanted, and then the area behind it (mid scalp) is native hair, will those two areas look different and make the frontal 3rd stand out? (The difference can be the angulation, shaft diameter, density, scar tissue etc etc) Another question I have is if you would need to achieve the same density if it was you intention of buzzing it down or keeping it very short? "Isn't this what Dr. Cole calls "less is more"." -Yes it is. I have seen some results on rare occasions where it seems it may be possible but I have not seen this in real life. Dr Cole planted (pun intended) this idea in my head in an article a while back. Not sure why he is using such big extraction tools tho? "Scarring can sometimes be unpredictable so even in the hands of a first-rate hair restoration physician, using small extraction instruments. These risks are minimized in the hands of a quality hair restoration physician, but are not 100% predictable." -Thats a great point. Can this be tested before the procedure?
  3. It has been debated and desired for the past few years but the jury is still out: -Is it possible to get an FUE HT and then buzz your head and it will look completely normal? Obviously the donor will look a bit sparse on close inspection but I am more concerned about the receipent. I want to do this as I love having a buzz cut, I just look silly with a buzz since I have no hairline. Anyone tried this?

  5. Hair cloning has always been 5-10 years away. It could be true this time though...
  6. Bill I posted about this forum on HLH cause I find it sad what is going on here. I understand that Farjo may have some decent results but I feel its besides the point. When I stated researching many years ago this was the No 1 site cause you could trust the advice given here. Its apparent that this industry is full of hacks, butchers and cheats and thats why we come here, to forums like this one. If this forum is going to be respected you have to be tougher on who you recommend. If we cant trust you, then who are we going to trust? Like it or not, your position as moderator puts you in a situation where prospective patients puts a lot of trust in what you say. If there are any uncertainties about clinics or unhappy patients, that should be disclosed, not hidden or censored. And although you still recommend the top docs like hasson etc, I think its a bit wrong to also recommend Farjo and other not as proven clinics, at least as if they were in the same league. If this is not your intention then perhaps make that more clear. Just my 2 cents.
  7. Bill If even you guys havent seen any good photos from the Farjo clinic then why are you recommending them? Something is not right here.
  8. Im no expert and I've enever had a HT myself but that result looks awful by any standard. If a HT looks like that it defeats the purpose of having one done in the first place. There is nothing natural looking about it it at all. In fact it looks pretty much exactly like those doll hair results from the 80s.
  9. "If you are worried about buzzing your head than why bother with a HT? Maybe you should buzz first and even see if you want one?" Goood point. I did buzz and I liked it. Would like it a lot more though if I had more hair. Buzz cuts always looks better when you have a shadow of a hairline to frame your face. This is often overlooked. Look at the guy in prison break for example. he would certainly not look as good if he was balding. Buzz or no Buzz, hair is just as vital to your appearance.
  10. EMUSteve I hear what youre saying. I am also very sceptical of the whole procedure, mainly due to the shady pictures you see online. (You know the ones I mean with that silly HT comnbover style) I am currently tossing uop between Strip or FUE. I like the whole idea of the "scarless" FUE but in all honesty the results from a great strip surgeon, the price difference and the number of available grafts make strip a viable option still. I am just concerned that Ill be in trouble down the line if I need to buzz my head. Thansk for your input and let us know how it works out.
  11. With strip you cut out a portion of your scalp and then the surgeon uses that to rremove the grafts that he later inserts into you donor are. Strip leaves a scar that makes it impossible for you to wear your hair really short in the future. So you cant shave your head later in life. FUE is the removal of individual grafts from the back of your head. This also leaves scarring but since you have many tiny scars rather than i huge scar you can wear your hair very short and people will not be able to tell. In terms of results, the results from strip are sofar more consistent and you can do bigger numbers for a lot less money. You look like you need a lot more that 1600 grafts judging by your picture. If you only go with 1600 then maybe FUE is an option. I would recommend you contact some of the top strip surgeons in the states as they are much better than the European ones. Dr hasson in Canada is probably the best overall.
  12. I am still pondering my original question: -Are HTs undetectable. I dont think so. But Im gonna go meet some more patients in person to make up my mind. I guess it also depends on your hair characteristics.
  13. Laser: Its expensive but useless. I was tricked into Advance Hair and their scam. I lost about 6K and part of my IQ I think. I mean I sat there paying $500/ session for some clown to shine a light on my head.
  14. Omar There has been some very negative fedeback from Greek patients regarding the surgeons in Greece.
  15. "El guapo, What hapen with Dr. Cole recomendation? If you have not received it yet, please let me know. Your username means "handsome" in Spanish Regards," Hi Fithair. I know, I used to be handsome before my genetics got the better of me. Reg Dr Coles recommendation: Yes I have got it thank you. I find it a bit odd though that everytime I send a question it takes two weeks, and usually some new person answers me or I get some premade answer that has nothing to do with the question I asked. Maybe you guys are really busy?
  16. Yeah thats Dr Woods in liverpool. Think he's moving into the city though. Dr Woods pricing is actually quite normal for FUE. The other doctors you have seen have probably been offering strip surgery, which is cheaper and quite different altogether.
  17. guyfromSydney Im from Sydney as well. The guys here give solid advice so lsiten to them. I went to see Dr Barry White in Edgecliff. He is a hack and a conman. Down the road, crammed in somewhere between Bentleys, Ferraris and poodle pampering shops in Double Bay is Dr Russel Kdudsen. He?‚??s got a decent rep but have not seen anything from him. Dr Jeenifer Martinick is in Perth, have not heard much good nor bad reg her either. The only guaranteed great doc in Sydney is Dr Woods. He is the founder and most likely the best in FUE surgery. www.thewoodstechnique.com Check it out.
  18. Troy >Your HT look very good. On the other hand you were barely thinning before.. My hairloss is a bit more substantial, a NW4 at least with thinning all over the top. To me it seems as if the good results are from those with minimal loos wether those who have lost more get average see-through hair. Any Nw4-5s here with undetectable HTs?
  19. Hi tb I have sent my photos to some Dr's. Feller and Cole. I have seen Woods in person as well. Woods thinks I need about 1500 for a conservative hairline. Feller and Cole I am still waiting to hear back from. I believe that 3000 is more realistic. I have to say I did like Woods and his no nonsense approach. He is possibly the best, he is certtainly the most experienced. Very pricy though.
  20. My amateur advice is to wait, Apparently the crown can take up to 1.5 years to fully mature, you're about half way there...
  21. its752 Great I'll take you up on that, 4000 FUE with Dr Armani coming up Michaellovesnyc: In what way is it noticable? Is it because the hairs are different at that stage or due to redness etc? Can you guys slick your hair straight back and it still looks natural?
  22. Thats great news. I am considering FUE/FIT with Feller or Cole sometime after Xmas. How long do you guys think I should plan to "hide". I am just concerned about the naturalness cause I have yet to see a good HT in person and I am a bit worrie its gonna look like crap. I have medium thin blonde hair, NW4
