  1. Dude on average we loose 100 hairs per day, balding or not. The difference between the balding man and the non-balding man is the fact that in the balding man the hairs dont grow back as fast and they get thinner and thinner everytime they fall out. loosing 30 hairs in a night is probably normal. If you hairline is thinning get on Propecia and Minoxidil ASAP. I started loosing hair at 18 and Im now 25. After getting on Meds the loss has slowed down significantly, and I have almost as much hair now as at 18. El Guapo
  2. I just read your post and you said you had a Ht and you are now wearing your hair at #1. Thats excactly what I wanna do. What sort of Ht did you have and where did you get it? You have any photos? Sincerely El Guapo
  3. It could be the simple fact that a shaved head looks good on some people, those with a "shadow" of a hairline. really short hair or shaved head always looks better on someone with hairfollicles than without. (Dont even try to argue that fact) i myself a contemplating getting a FUE HT just so that I can shave/buzcut my hair and still look good. As long as the hairline is there to frame the face when having a buzzcut if its thinning behind does not matter as much. Look at Vin Diesel So thats a reson for you -get a HT so that a shaved head looks good! El Guapo
  4. Ken I have to agree with SHARP on this one. It appears to be a shaved part of your head. It is also hard to see where on your scalp the photo is taken. If your hair really is growing as you say it is, it is no doubt very good news for everyobe on this board. When are you expecting to reveal the ingredients of this magic potion of yours? Good luck El Guapo
  5. I've given this very topic some thought myself and for me the answer is pretty obvious. I will probably be hunted down by my folically challenged brothers on this forum for saying this but, FUE/FIT must be the superior choice, especially if you have a virgin scalp and can wait a year (or more) or so until the prices starts to fall. The reason for me saying this is due to the fact that even after the HT we will keep on loosing more hair. Propecia and other drugs may halt it temporarily but not indefinately. If you keep on loosing hair after your procedure you may want to buzz cut your hair, especially if you have a HT hairline. We all know that a buzz cut looks better when there is a "shadow" of a hairlline to frame the face, even if the crown is thin. (look at Vin DIESEL) When you've had Strip surgery you are COMMITED to keep on doing more and more and more HT's for the rest of you life because when as your hairloss progresses it needs maintenance. If you buzz cut your hair after having a strip surgerey it is likely to look terrible because of the scar. Should you buzz cut your hair after a FUE/FIT nobody will notice. However, it would be a good idea to wait a bit for FUE as it is still new, way too expensive and sofar pretty limited. (There are at present no decent megasessions documented but thats just a matter of time I beleive) My two cents El Guapo
  6. Well there would be a few really good reasons for someone to get a buzz cut after having a transplant. A lot of the times, a HT looks like shit. Its too thin, permanent shedding or just additional hairloss after HT. Buzz Cuts look really good, especially if one has a good hairline that frames the face nicely. The ultimate paradox with HT,s is that hair as thin as that received from a HT looks best when buzz cut. A non FUE HT has its obvious flaws when buzz cut. Just my 2 cents. El Guapo
  7. texasNW2 Interesting you should point Mathew MConnely (or however you spell his name) out for he is one of very few celebreties that has had a good HT. I think he has even admitted to it in some talkshow. Does anybody know where?
  8. thomas i was looking into a melbourne based doctor, DR barry White earlier this year. I found his sales rep in sydney disturbingly sleazy and I sensed there was something that wasnt quite right. Is this the doctor with whom you had a bad experience? If so, he should be named on this forum to prevent others from going there. (He is actually recommended here) Thinking of Dr Jennifer Martinick in Perth who you recommended. Did she do all Fu and what density did you get? Thanks El Guapo
  9. Sharp that is an interesting observation. Would you say it looks normal with just a hairline on a NW 7 or unatural to the point where the Ht is obvious for that reason alone. I myself am contemplating a HT. Im between NW3-NW4 and my biggest fears are that Ill keep on loosing hair to the point where the only reasonable thing to do is shave it all off but i cant due to a donor scar on the back of my head. This puts me in the interesting situation where the only way out is a hair piece. i think hair pieces are crap which is the reason I wanna get a HT. basically I am scared of having to wear a system in the end which would defeat the purpose of having done the HT in the first place. On another note: i still believe Harrison did have something done, there is something funny going on around his temples and its not your average thinning. El Guapo
  10. Get a second opinion I would suggest, before you go back to your Ht doctor. That way, you could have more substantiated facts to counter with and the doctor is a lot less likely to try to lie to you. You should ask for your money back on the hairs that were NOT transplanted but that you paid for anyway. Good luck El Guapo
  11. Its definately a HT If not, harrison Ford has some new sort of hair loss. -Good point about Carlista! Anybody else seen the movie?
  12. Just Saw the utterly terrible movie "Hollywood Homicide" with harrison Ford. i noticed that Mr Ford has had a HT and it really does not look good. Only from some angles where the light is right does it look OK.(its just tooo thin) i am beginning to think that this is what can be expected from a HT today. i mean if filthy rich people like Harrison Ford and Nicholas Cage cant even get a decent transplant, why would we. Harrison Ford has really thick Donor hair which makes me even more suspicious of the limitations of HT. i keep reding this forum and have done so for long time and i do believe that some patients get good results but i also think there are as many bad ones, and it would be slightly naive perhaps just to blaim/give credit to the doctors only. maybe fellow baldies, we should just hang in there for a few more years until they have found a cure instead. just my 2 cents El Guapo
