  1. Hang in there, I am one week shy of 6 months and can tell you there is a huge difference from month four to month six.
  2. I could not agree more that you are entitled to your opinion and the right to express it here or anywhere else. If you are a victim of a bad transplant I am sorry, BUT there are many men who feel their looks and life have been improved by transplants. It doesn't make them wrong, screwed up or insecure. We all care about how we look, some of us prefer hair. Nothing wrong with being bald, to each his own. This forum exists to a certain extent, to prevent a bad experience. If doctors sponsor it so what, I am reading posts by people like you, not the doctors and that has value to me. I chose to have a transplant, I don't know what the end result will be. But I felt much better reading the good and the bad prior to making the decision. I appreciate your input as well as others. It is what helped me make my decision. Cheers.
  3. dhuge are you happy with your results so far, maybe I missed it in a previous post? I am at 5.5 months and its a mixed bag so for for me.
  4. I have had the same question, I am about 5 1/2 months out. I think the issue is the alcohol. But I think most mox has alot also.
  5. Michael, I have followed your progress closely as I had very similiar hairloss and surgery roughly about the same time (2650 FU's for me). You seem very pleased with your progess and I think you look great, congrats. Cheers
  6. Greetings, I am 43 and have been on Proscar for about 6 months, I have noticed a slight difference but not much. My advice is to stay on for awhile and see what happens, a reduction in someones sex drive can be caused by so many factors, stress, health, etc... Just my opinion.
  7. Congrats, you look great. I too had hair tranplanted into some existing hair. I shaved down to a 2 AFTER the transplant and said the same thing WOW thats thin. But I also clearly had alot of shock loss due to the procedure. I am seeing quite a bit of growth. But its been very uneven. Good luck and enjoy you new hair. Cheers.
  8. Hello, I was in the same boat as you lots of shock loss and no results at 4 months, I am at a little over 5 months and lots of stuff happening. I can tell you at 4 months I looked ALOT worse than pre surgery. I still feel stuble at 5 months and about 10 days (hair coming in). I think I am a late bloomer, and can tell you to be patient. Yes, its tough, I have been on a roller coaster of thinking this was a good thing to thinking it was a big mistake. Hang in there!
  9. I had some itching as the hair started to grow. Try not to scratch. My hair has been sensitive as it has grown in, not really painful. I am at a little over 5 months and think you are probably doing fine.
  10. Thanks, patience is something you definately need for this process.
  11. I used Dr. Lehr and received about 2650 fu's. Mostly in the front and forlock. I had some existing hair in the area and alot of it has shocked out. It was pretty thin anyway and on its way out I think. I think the Proscar has caused most the the shedding not the surgery. I had a pretty good hairline six months ago, but most is gone. I am seeing some pretty significant growth but the side and immediately behind the hairline are taking longer. Some days looks pretty good others not so good. Yes Lehr is listed on this site and that is how I found him.
  12. Interesting site (the RK section bothered me too). I had a hair transplant in February after finding this board and several others. The last five months have been a roller coaster of emotions ranging from thinking I lost my mind to cautious excitement as some of the hair has started to come in. I still look pretty thin and odd but at only a little over 5 months I think it will look alot better. I think the odds of getting a good surgery are much better than they use to be, better methods and more information for patients. But clearly you can still get butchered. At the end of the day do your homework and if you decide take the leap.
  13. Hey, I did bang my head in the shower (wasn't drinking yet). Things seem to be growing (slowly). I will start drinking in the shower so I will have an excuse next time. Cheers
  14. Just an observation, but I think the internet has done more to educate consumers (i.e. patients) and to some extent challenge physicians than any other development in many years. The days of a patient just accepting the advice and opinion of a physician are long gone. Some physicians have embraced a better educated patient and some have been threatened by it. In the end the winner can and should be both. A better informed and educated patient will make better decisions for themselves and this is a good thing for both the doctor and the patient. Just my opinion.
  15. I had lots of shock loss, I looked horrible at two months. I would say mine was the worse at two months. I am at about four and one half months and things are starting to turn around. Hang in there, it will get better. Cheers.
  16. Dense packing seems to work everywhere else. Seems a little hokey to me.
  17. Interesting post, I think studies of bald vs. non bald men are pretty conclusive. People perceive them differently. Sorry, but people will generally judge you by the way you look and losing you hair is normally associated with getting older etc... If you are OK with it more power to you, but most men who had hair at one time have a difficult time losing it (speaking for myself). I take very good care of myself and losing my hair was very difficult for me (something I could not control). But I will say I had surgery for myself not someone else. Just my opinion.
  18. Michael, I banged my head on accident (shower soap dish edge and car) Not at the same time! LOL. It seems like I was trying to be careful and not having much luck. Anyway, things are growing and I think will come in fine. The first 6 months are a bitch. I am at about 17 weeks but feeling alot better since I can see hair coming in. Cheers.
  19. I banged my head several times (really hard)in several places 14 days post op. Things are turning out fine. It is really hard not to worry. Go see your doc and I think he will probably put your fears to rest. Good luck.
  20. I had tons of shock loss but most didn't even start until at least a month after surgery. The worst was during month two. Hang on, if it is healthy hair it will be back. Cheers.
  21. I believe we both went to the same doc (Lehr). I assumed that mine had not returned (yet) due to the fact most fell out somewhere between 3 to 10 weeks post surgery. Thus add 3 months to this and you get 4 to 6 months before it starts to grow back. I am also assuming some of mine won't return because it was ready to go anyway.
  22. The key to weight loss is diet (along with exercise) Sorry, but you can eat alot more than you can burn off with exercise. I eat about 5 small meals per day (good stuff) and exercise as much as possible (min 3 times per week). I also allow myself one junk food fix per week. Seems to work for me. good luck.
  23. OK, some are coming in white or more to the point they seem to be much lighter in color. I understood the hair developed more pigmentation as it matured. But hey, I will take white or whatever. Cheers
  24. A cult, hey Pat do we get robes? This reminds me of the comment that I wouldn't belong to any "cult" that would have me as a member.
  25. Sorry, but this whole thing was fun to read anyway. Thanks all.
