  1. I am curious, how this appears when patients buzz their hair to a 1 or 2 (or less). I think that is the real test of this new process.
  2. Michael, hey your hair loss pattern and amount look very similar to mine. I had my surgery 2-1-06, and have had alot of shock loss especially on the hair line. You are ahead of me, both in time since surgery and hair growth. I hope mine looks that good at three months. Good luck.
  3. I have had alot of shock loss in the recipient area. Most of mine was from around 3 to 6 weeks. I think most is over. I am hoping most comes back with the transplanted hair.
  4. Ok, another dumb question. I am 5 weeks post op and still have alot of the tranplanted hair. I want to cut my hair very short (maybe a #2). Any concern about hurting the FU's?

  6. I don't know the few times I have used Rogain it made my scalp itch. I think it is the alcohol. I believe there are some versions without the alcohol rather than Rogain. You might try some hair oil on your scalp for a good 30 minutes to an hour prior to showering off. You can find this stuff in the hair section. It has seemed to help me post op with a dry scalp. Hope this helps
  7. I used for about a week 10 days post op. I had the same results, frizzie hair, etc... and I think it even increased my hair loss (a known result). I stopped using, I figured my FU's would come in anyway. By the way I do have alot of shock loss due to the transplanted hairs into areas with some hair to begin with. I am hoping the hair comes back so I am trying to ride out. Anyway, my thought was I wasn't going to stay on anyway so having the transplanted hair come in a few weeks to a month early just wasn't worth the mess and cost. Good luck.
  8. OK, I had seen something like that but couldn't find it based upon searching the site. I had a feeling that tanning was a bad idea and probably wouldn't do it. I have had to be outside for 30 to 45 minutes without a hat but couldn't help it over the last few days. I haven't noticed a problem. But I think I will pass on the tanning and hope the pink goes away over the next few months. Thanks.
  9. Hey, what do you all think of tanning after the procedure. I am 5 weeks post op and have quite a bit of pinkness. I am very fair skinned. thoughts?

  11. Just found at Walmart also, thanks for the reply. Have a good one.
  12. I am sure this has been discussed many times but please humor me (yes, I did so a search before asking). Does anyone have a good internet source form MSM? Thanks.
  13. Spoon, thanks for the words of encouragement. I mean existing hair. I have lost quite a bit. The funny thing is most of the transplanted hairs are still there (go figure). Man I look like crap!! I sure hope the tranplanted hair comes in or I spent alot of money to look worse. Sorry I am a little over one month post op and don't like what I see in the mirror.
  14. Hairbank, I have a question for you. You said your grafts started coming in in about a month, did you use Rogain?
  15. Greetings, I am about 30 days post op, I have noticed some significant shock loss as well. I am still pink but donor site and recipient site seem to be healing well. I hope the shock loss doesn't get worse but probably will. Good luck
  16. At about 10 days to two weeks, I started aloe and oil. The vast majority of the scabs came off without hair. The majority of the transplanted hair is still there. It is slowly starting to come out when I shampoo. I wouldn't be too aggressive until two weeks plus. And even then no fingernails. Talk to your doc, my post op instructions were pretty specific. I still have some scabs at three weeks post op and won't worry until I am four weeks post op. I hope this helps, I know everyone heals differently. You just don't want to damage your grafts. This is my first op, I am sure there are folks out there with more experience than me. I am just trying to be patient (not having much luck). Remember always run with scissors (lol).
  17. Hello, I am three weeks post op and have used Aloe and also used "hair oil". I found in the hair care section, it is a mix of various oils including mineral oil. It seems to work the best with the scabs and scaling. You can gently move your fingers in a circular motion on the scabs and if you don't force the issue alot of scabs will come off. Just a suggestion, seems to have worked for me. Good luck.
  18. By the way thanks to all for your replies and help. I really poured over this site before deciding on a HT. I am really glad I found it prior to my HT, as I started looking at Bosley etc...
  19. I will try and get pre op pictures from Dr. Lehr and post. My luck just seems to be getting better Ha, I banged my head on the corner of the shower soap dish (right by the shower head) this morning right on the transplanted hair line. I am pretty sore but am hoping no permanent damage to transplants. I am sick of worring about the whole thing. Hope the next three to four months goes by fast and I have good results. I am not going to go back on the Rogain, I wasn't going to stay on permanently anyway, just wanted faster FU growth. Thoughts?
  20. Hello, I am two and 1/2 weeks post op with Dr. Lehr in Ok City. I was pleased with his team and the surgery. I received 2647 FU's on February 1st. I am already having alot of shock loss and concerned about it. I used Rogain for about a week 10 days post op, but it really seemed to be making my hair very thin and wispy, so I discontinued. Any words of encouragement?
