  1. All of this posting about a strip of unknown length/width for a graft count that is not known. Would a thinner/shorter strip width result in a thinner/shorter scar? It's obvious that Joe got a little irritated at Gorpy's "hideous and ugly" comment as Gorpy did not know any of the specifics regarding this patient's needs or potential resultant scar. Also, using the term "typical" when applied to anything to do with HT's is dangerous. On the other hand, Joe could have taken it down a notch. dallas, sounds like leaving a little longer hair in the back [as per Hairbank's & balody's earlier advice] might make your scar appearance problem go away. Pics of dallas current condition would probably give a better idea of what would be necessary.
  2. B spot, I agree. Procedures are great, but the final result is ultimately the only thing that really matters.
  3. hairbank, can't wait to see the results, should be awesome. aquarius, cool pic.
  4. Fin, I would agree with hairbank. Why take the chance of not getting the best possible job for the sake of buzzing the area? hairbank, I noticed you're going back for more with Dr. Wong. Are you just adding some density? Your hair looks pretty good as it is now.
  5. MD1, Looks like you're just posturing. The proof is in the refund.
  6. Wow. Wonder what the strip width was. Looks pretty wide for the count.
  7. Bill, Since Bosley seems to be hit or miss depending on the doctor, it may be helpful if ImA did some research on the particular doctor that performed the procedure.
  8. Burt, I went to Vancouver from RI. H&W covered part of the airfare & the hotel for 2 nights, so it basically cost me about $400 for the trip plus some food [though the food was the last thing on my mind]. You shouldn't let the $$ be the deciding factor on where you go. The travel $$ is cheap money considering what is at stake.
  9. Burt, Only YOU will buy yourself the hair you deserve. On the other hand, you can always get your second wife to buy you another house!
  10. I am almost at week six, & I am still getting an occasional hair shedding. The hairs are basically the same size as the ones that shed early on. I also have some of my transplanted hairs growing, although most of the transplanted hairs have shed. Waiting for the new hairs is sort of like watching the paint dry......
  11. Harve, I would tend to agree with el guapo. While I would love to believe that the laser comb provides re-growth, there is no proven medical proof that this would even be possible. I'm sure we'd all love to see the facts if there were some available. That being said, if you believe that the comb has actually helped you, & you can justify spending the money you spent for the laser comb, then that's all that really matters.
  12. Bill, The company I work for actually builds for a number of the pharma companies. Whereas some of these folks do research [in lieu of those that manufacture], we build the holding rooms, research rooms, etc. for the "test subjects". If you look at the order list for the mice from the company that supplies them to these companies, you can pretty much order them with any number of diseases, etc. already injected [sort of like picking the options in your car]. When we start building rooms labeled as "hair cutting" & the order list includes mice with the "Don King" option, I'll know that the hair loss solution is close at hand.
  13. Here's the link to his website....... http://www.hairdr.com/technology.html
  14. Dr Feller, When I had my first procedure in RI, the doctor provided 4 free sessions of laser "therapy" after the procedure as a part of the overall price. There were 2 sessions per week [1/2 hour per session] following the procedure. Since I was not familiar with the use of lasers in treating hair loss, I questioned him as to it's effectiveness & how it worked. The response was that he believed that it helped, but he did not supply any evidence or facts. He also did not try to push the program that they had in place. It was basically a number of rooms with these lasers set up similar to your picture, except their lasers had some adjustable flaps. My brief web based research at that time did not seem to provide any facts that would support using these lasers, so I did not continue with any additional laser theraphy after my 4 free sessions were completed. I have seen some informercials by this doctor noting that the lasers re-grow hair, and I'm guessing that they must do quite well based upon the number of folks I saw going in & out of the laser area [assuming most of these folks did not have recent procedures judging by the appearance of their hair]. What struck me as odd after the first treatment was that the tech that positioned the laser flap didn't seem to angle it to the front of my hairline, which is where I had the procedure. Most of it was directed towards the top of the head [where I had some work] & the back [where I had no work]. Perhaps they were just trying to replenish my donor supply.
  15. el guapo, perhaps you could add some "pop-rocks" and activate them using one of those therapeutic laser pointers. Don't forget to add this note...."Please note that el guapo wishes to make it clear to prospective clients that the only proven element of the Guapo Therapy?® program is Minoxidil. Although Guapo agrees fully with this adjudication he is happy to take your money anyway." The additional steps offered include the measured dispensing of a range of virgin Pop-Rocks products which kind of offer similar benefits somewhat like Finasteride without the active ingredients....without the side effects attributed to that drug. The final step being the controlled dispensing of Coca Cola throughout the program which dilates & widens the blood & capillary vessels thereby increasing the amount of nutrients to the follicle.
  16. Aquarius, my Lab actually has a pretty good attention span, especially where there's food involved.
  17. Chris Attrill, Welcome. This debate has been on the claims made regarding the effectiveness of Lasers in the re-growth of hair, not the term "Therapy" which you folks seem to use to cloud the issue. Please stick to the facts, as we are not debating the use of Minoxidl or Serenoa in this thread. So basically the question is this: Can you prove that your "Laser" re-grows hair or not [i.e. not in combination with other drugs which have already been proven to assist in stopping hair loss]? All I've seem from your website [and your responses to date] is a bunch of "snake-oil" type sales tactics which appear to be designed to mislead those who don't know better. If the laser can not stand on it's own merit with FACTUAL evidence that it can regrow hair [or even STOP hair loss], then it should CLEARLY be stated as such, and not hidden behind the word "Therapy" so you can charge an arm & a leg for products that are basically cheap & readily available. FDA approval only means that this product won't kill you [unless one of your customers hits you over the head with it].
  18. Bill, Thanks for the link. Pretty weak results from the first HT. If that is indicative of Goyale's work, Jolly should stay far away from that guy.
  19. When I had my recent procedure with Dr. Wong, the techs [at least 4] would relieve each other to provide a break when necessary. I'm guessing that it would be tough to consistently work mega-sessions without this rotation.
  20. Bill, Now I'm curious. Got any pics of Vicky's HT?
  21. "As much as I would love to be able to answer all questions on the Advanced Hair Studio I am unable to do so: However I am more than happy for all clients of the Advanced Hair Studio to contact me direct with there questions - maeveduhy@advancedhairstudio.com and I will forward these questions onto the head office in London and ask for a reply. " MR1.......if we bring you the broomstick of the wicked witch of the west, can we get a discount?
  22. Badger, I hope you checked to make sure you still had your watch after you shook his hand.
  23. I'm wondering if Curis will continue to evaluate the hedgehog even though Wyeth has pulled out. I actually thought it was P&G that was collaborating with Curis on this [?]. Either way, the Wyeth [or P&G] involvement was purely for the mass production/marketing part anyway, so if Curis continues testing/research & hedgehog proves to work, the big boys of the pharma world will be buying up Curis & marketing/producing the hedgehog for the hair application in record time.
  24. finnari, Does pain in the wallet count?
