  1. Are you saying the modified picture is what you prefer?? I think the original picture looks WAY better....... The temporal points must suit the face and not just be square for the sake of being Square.
  2. Just a quick update after 3 weeks. Really happy with the adjusted hairline - it frames my face much better. Shedding so far has been very minimal but I think it will start this week.
  3. Wow. This is a bad one. As others have said though, it Should be an easy fix and lucky not much donor hair was burned up.
  4. I don't really think a top surgeon will be happy to work on just your temporal points if your going to get the hairline done elsewhere. The top surgeons have waiting lists so they can pick and choose who they want to work on therefore I don't think your proposed plan is achieveable. Bare in mind, reconstruction of temple points requires a small amount of grafts therefore even if you are able to get one of them to agree to do them then you would be subject to a minimum spend for a day's worth of surgery. My advice would be to decide which surgeon is within a budget you can save up enough money to afford, put a deposit down and start saving (your likely to be waiting a year for a top surgeon anyway).
  5. I think there is some confusion here with what our definitions of 'symmetry' are. My idea of symmetry was that the middle of the hairline (deepest part) be located directly in the centre of the forehead in between the eyes and that the recession of the corners of the hairline where equal. I've attached pictures of my hairline pre and post HT number 2 with Bruno Ferreira. As you can see, both hairlines (pre and post op) have micro irregularities built in but the 2nd pass has just provided more symmetry. It seems that some people in this thread are classifying symmetry as straight hairlines with no micro/macro irregularities (hair of Istanbul style). It's worth noting that whilst we have tried to achieve perfect symmetry with the 2nd pass, I dont think we have achieved 100% symmetry but we are much closer to it now and I'm 100% happy with the hairline now. I have also attached a couple of photos of the diagnostics process.
  6. 🤣🤣🤣 The signs are good so far! I'm loving the new hairline - Frames my face perfectly now.
  7. Agreed, there are minor assymetry's but like NikosHair said, even if you aim for perfect symmetry, you are unlikely to achieve it but you may get close which is likely an ideal result.
  8. I would say the 1st example you shared of the guys hairline is just too straight and he's had no temporal work which makes the straight hairline look unatural. The bottom example is pretty symetrical if you ask me...... Its actually very hard to achieve perfect symmetry, even if your aiming for it. Dr Ferreira warned me prior to surgery that perfect symetry was not only difficult to achieve due to facial features not being symetrical but also warned me that trying to achieve perfect symetry was not always a 'better' result. It was my decision however to proceed with the adjustments and he was happy to carry out my wishes. I'm 99.9% sure my result will be perfectly natural regardless. I will continue to update my thread on a regular basis and hopefully the final result will settle the debate.
  9. I was happy with the 1st - it was a great result for sure. I was looking for more symentry and density from the 2nd and Dr F has got things spot on from what I can tell at this point.
  10. OK so it's now 2 weeks post Op. Everything has been smooth sailing and is where it should be at this point. Scabs are pretty much all gone and donor area has healed nicely. Both areas are still slightly numb and sensitive but that's due to be expected I guess. So far I've shed a few hairs here and there but the major shed I guess will start later on this week I would imagine (I shed pretty early last time). As with my 1st procedure, there has been no shock loss to report. As with my 1st transplant, I am not currently taking finasteride or Minodoxil for hair loss/hair growth (I use minoxidil for my beard only). I was toying with the idea of starting medication but I've decided against finasteride at this point as I'm not seeing losses or notable miniaturisation however I'm still debating whether to start oral Minoxidil. I'm just looking into where to find a reliable pharma grade supply before taking the plunge with that.
  11. Great result. HLC consistently produce these kind of results and I think their hairline designs are particularly good.
  12. Following on from a successful HT with Dr Bruno Ferreira in December 2021 (2500 grafts to rebuild my hairline), I decided to go back in December 2022 to tweak the hairline a little and to add as much density as possible with a 2nd pass over the transplanted area. I had originally booked this 2nd date with Dr Ferreira for the purpose of a beard transplant, however since I had been getting decent results with Minodoxil I decided to use the date in the search for the perfect the hairline. The hairline was slightly asymmetrical which bugged me a little so I wanted to adjust it slightly and then add whatever density we could. Whilst Dr Ferreira warned me that nobodys face was symmetrical and altering the hairline may not be an improvement to the overall look, it was something I wanted to do so he was happy to accommodate my wishes the best he could. The process with regard to organisation prior to surgery was similar to last time although Dr Ferreira has changed his patient Coordinator this year and things felt more reassured this time around. His operation seemed slicker and more well organised. There were what's app and E mail reminders at every stage of the process with links to Google maps for blood tests and clinic details etc. I had opted to stay in Espinho where the clinic is located and sorted my own apartment, but I used the clinics transfer service to and from the airport this time which I think was well worth it to take the hassle away from getting trains or cabs. Surgey day was pretty much identical to last time (same personnel etc). His team are very caring and the atmosphere is professional yet laid back. Everybody knows their tasks and they work together as a well oiled machine. Dr Ferreira spent around half an hour in the design stage of marking out the hairline and formulating the plan of action. I had input in this and he tweaked things a couple of times for me. He made a point of letting me know that I should voice my concerns without hesitation because that was my time to change anything I wanted (this made me feel at ease and have no worries about speaking up). The surgery consists of a team of 4 people - Dr Ferreira is the only one that touches your head and his team assist him. Obviously, it's hard to know exactly what everyone is doing at any one time but from what I could gather - One person assists him with his instruments (filling needles with anaesthetic and sorting out the implanter pens) and the other two are organising the grafts. The day is split into many sessions of extraction and implantation. I would say there were around 6 different sessions of each. The grafts were never out of my scalp for much over an hour from what I could gather. When I saw the result I was super happy and was amazed at how many more grafts he was able to pack into the hairline. Fingers crossed the results are as good as last time - I shall update this thread regularly with my progress.
  13. The scars from the 1st procedure are hardly visible at all to be honest. As I have light hair I think I'm pretty lucky in that regard. I've been getting high fades regularly without issue. Once this 2nd transplant grows in I'm going to play around with a few more hair styles but I'm thinking I may keep it shorter for a while rather than growing it long again straight away. We'll see. I'm also toying with the idea of starting meds........ Whilst I'm not keen on the idea, now that I've been through two procedures would I not be mad to safe guard against future loses...... I'm on the fence!? Dr F said that a high level of miniaturisation wasn't a concern at this stage so it wasn't essential for me to be on meds but it's defo at the back of my mind.
  14. I should have the surgery day photos at some stage next week so once I get them through I will start a new thread. Here's a couple I manged to take the morning after the Op (not the best)
  15. From where @Rolandasstarted from I believe his result cannot be beaten. In Actual fact its thanks to @Rolandasthat I went with Dr Ferreira in the 1st place so big thanks to him.
  16. Fantastic result. Great density achieved
  17. Couple of photos to show how clean the work is. First wash tomorrow.
  18. The hairline has been lowered on one side by around 2.5mm I would say which has brought the symmetry pretty much perfect. On the other side he has scattered a few grafts slightly below where the old hairline was but I wouldn't say its enough to consider it a 'drop' on that side. I was surprised at how many grafts Dr F has managed to densely pack into the the area overall and density should end up being about as good as it can possibly get for a HT. I haven't taken any measurements currently as I want to let the swelling subside but healing wise everything is right on track. Its only been a couple of days and the donor is pretty much back to normal already and the work is super clean so I have lots of tiny little scabs which shouldn't take too long to fall off of their own Accord.
  19. Wow. You got your clinic photos back super fast!! I waited close to a year before getting mine back from my 1st procedure! It Just shows how much better his operation has got with regards to the team around him doing the admin side of things. We're you dealing with Ines?? I found her to be extremely helpful. Your work looks excellent - it's going to be another fantastic result from Dr F. I feel very grateful to be a patient of his to be honest - I dont think there is anyone better.
  20. Well nobody can say you didn't do your research! As others have said, It sounds as though there was a BIG mix up in communication here. It's really strange that the surgical plan/strategy was changed midway through the procedure! I can't imagine that this is a common thing! I mean if they are extracting grafts for the hairline then these would be grafts suitable for the hairline (lots of singles etc), so then to just whack them all into the crown doesn't seem a good well thought out approach! I'm really surprised that considering he has such a solid reputation that Dr Couto doesn't perform the whole operation himself from start to finish. I think if he had of then this scenario would not have occurred. I had my HT with Dr Ferreira in Porto and I cannot imagine for a second that something like this would happen under his care - he is way too conciencous and plans everything to the last detail. Its easy for me to say i know but I would try not to stress anymore about this now becuase it will not change the situation. Stay calm and look at the positives. Dr Couto produces amazing results so your crown area should now be fixed. You have dark hair so SMP can be fully utilised in the donor region so you can still harvest more hair for the hairline.
  21. OK chaps so the deed has been done!!!! Dr Ferreira was awesome today - he completley respected my wishes in terms of my chase for symmetry and although he said nothing can be made milimeter perfect he would do his best to get as close to my desired result as he could. He did caveat that though and say that perfect summetry may not necessarily yield a better result. Dr Ferreira recommended that we concentrate on perfecting the hair today becuase there was a fair amount of work involved (the beard will have to wait which suits me since the hair was my main priority). Anyway, we have not long finished and he has transplanted 1350 grafts and completely NAILED IT! My plan is to start a new thread for this 2nd transplant once I get the clinics photos through (this should be much quicker this time since Dr Ferreira's team has now grown and evolved to become more efficient). Here are a couple of photos so you can get the general idea of what's been done and the result achieved.
  22. In order to discount swelling as a potential reason for the asymmetry, I got my friend to do the same with a current picture. As you can see, a similar trend has emerged showing then middle being slightly off centre and one side of the hairline just needing to come down very slightly. I have been in contact with Dr Ferreira who said that whilst he wasn't in favour of chasing mathematical symmetry becuase no ones face is symetrical, he would be happy to make a few adjustments if that's what I wanted. So I'm now at the airport ready to yet off to Porto again for a 1 day procedure on Monday. Since the hairline will. Not require that many grafts I think the plan is going to be to tackle the beard also. I shall keep you updated with progress - I'm just wondering whether to start a new thread for the 2nd visit to see Dr F or keep adding to this one......
