  1. Hi guys, I had 2,040 FUE grafts transplanted at Dr Saifi's in December 2020. Initially I was delighted with the results. But lately it seems like my transplant might be falling apart. The hairline at the left hand side has gone quite thin and sparse as you can see in the picture. It feels less dense and less strong than it did a few months ago. In the last 2 months or so it seems to have been faltering. Is this normal? What can I do about it if anything at all? I know a touch up is common but I am almost sure the transplanted hairs have been thinking and falling out, and it worries me. The transplanted areas look weak when scrutinised under certain conditions. It worries me.
  2. Thanks guys. As for my transplant it seems to be holding up well, I've not had any issues with it yet and I'm hoping I won't need another transplant any time soon. Saifi is good but he seems very interested in selling expensive CR Labs shampoo and that was something I wasn't sure of. The only discrepancy in my transplant is around the temporal peaks some of the hairs look a bit funny but you can only notice it when the hair is buzzed very short. Thanks and good luck guys. Feel free to share my blog with whoever you want.
  3. https://rossblogs.com/2022/03/17/my-knowledge-and-experience-of-male-pattern-baldness-and-hair-transplant-surgery/ Hi guys, I have a blog where I write articles, stories and poems every once in a while. Recently I decided to write an article about my experience of the hair loss industry. The link is attached above if anyone is interested in reading it or sharing it. Best wishes. Ross.
  4. The transplant when scrutinized from a particular angle under bright lighting. Here you can see the disparity between normal hair and transplanted hair. I know that a touch up could probably bulk it up, but really I am not interested in getting it touched up because its generally not noticeable to the untrained eye when my hair sits naturally or when it's styled the way I like.
  5. I accidently skipped the 11 month update. Sorry
  6. 12+ months. This will probably be my last post. I will now bow out of this forum because my hair transplant problem has been resolved for the time being, and fingers crossed I will not have to worry about it again for at least a good few years. I have been on finasteride (1.25mg) most days for 1 year and 5 months, and I have been on Regaine 1 - 2 times per day for 11 months. I will probs drop my Regaine usage to once per day. I had my transplant on 10th December 2020. I am now 31 years old. These pics show how I generally style my hair (flat down or quiffed to the side), although I sometimes brush it upwards. I have reasonably good styling options with my hair. Some pics show wet hair. When scrutinised under certain lights and certain conditions a trained eye would notice that the hair is less dense and that it has been transplanted, but generally the hair blends well and the naked eye would not notice anything strange. Good luck, happy Xmas and happy new year everyone, and good luck with all things hair related. You have all been amazing
  7. He just gave me an "age appropriate" hair line. He transplanted new hairs into the thinning/bald spots. He used 2,040 grafts so I have enough hair left in the bank for about 3 more procedures if I need them in the future...
  8. 9 months. New style. Wearing gel in the hair here. These photos really show the discrepancy between the temporal peaks and the native hair. Its a discrepancy that can be noticed when the hair is buzzed very short around the sides. Under certain lights its not so obvious though, and most people wouldn't really notice it unless they were looking for it.
  9. I think I might have asked this before, but I've forgotten the answer: I bought two cans of Regaine off a guy. 2 bottles for €15. The catch is that they have passed their expiry date. They are only very recently out of date August 2021. They have never been opened. Will they be as good as fresh cans while I work my way through them over the next 2 months, or have I wasted my money? 🤷‍♀️
  10. Thanks everybody I'd say it might be nearly finished now but who knows might even mature a bit more. I am actually on meds yes, I have been on fin (1.25mg most days) since July 2020, and I also started Rogaine foam in January 2021.
  11. 8 month update (1 week and 2 days late). Generally quite good bar one or two minor discrepancies. Blends naturally. Weaknesses can be seen when examined under certain lighting but this is probably the norm with transplants and it doesn't bother me too much. Hair is brushed forward with a fine comb in some pics and in others it is just styled the way I often styled it. I'll put wet hair pics and slicked back pics and pics with hair in different styles and lights on another occasion.
  12. Hey Kanadian, I actually went with Saifi in the end but not because I didn't trust Anastasakis. I just went to Saifi because he was more convenient and he had more pics of white skinned blonde haired patients like myself, and also at the time with Covid it was easier to travel to Poland. I would say Anastasakis is absolutely solid mate to be honest. His customer service is very good, its very customer focused. I contacted his clinic several times while I was researching surgery. They were genuine in their concern for patient welfare. Also his quotes are somewhat Conservative and modest. He's very long-term orientated. He's one of the cheapest quality surgeons on the market and he is very proud of his mastery in both FUT and FUE. I spoke to an Irish guy that had his HT done by Anastasakis and he was delighted with the result.
  13. Wow! Some very exciting content here guys. Some very interesting videos for me to enjoy this evening. Thank you all for your input. The future looks exciting Long live out hair
  14. What will the future of hair loss treatment be and how far away is it? We're all familiar with our Regaine and our finasteride, but the tragic thing about these medicines is (apart from the potential sides) that they apparently lose efficacy after a few years. I'm 1 year on fin now and 6 months on Regaine, had my first HT too 7 months ago. Right now I love how my hair is looking, the added thickness and new hairline are really making me feel great, but I dread the reality of seeing things fade again in maybe 5 years or so. Hence why I'd love to know what the future of treatment might be. I wonder if new treatments will hit the market within the next 5 years. I've heard of exosomes but don't know much about them. It would be cool if some of the medical experts could give their opinions here
  15. Clinic in Poland is called MD Medmix! Gatsby bro thanks very much It would be great if it gets any better. Cheers man.
  16. I live in Ireland and went to Dr Saifi for FUE 7 months ago. Reasonaby happy with the result. Price was about €2.67 per graft when I was there, for FUT his prices are a bit cheaper. His FUT price was about €2.30 per graft when I was there 7 months ago. I would recommend checking Dr Anastasakis in Greece too. He seems like a legend. He seems to have a top quality clinic, great team, many years of experience in both FUE and FUT, great care and precision in his work etc. I was going to get mine done with him but as things worked out I ended up doing it with Saifi in Poland. Based on my knowledge and experience of Dr Anastasakis though I can nearly guarantee that you'll get a good job done with him. I'm surprised there's not more about him on this forum. I got great customer service from his clinic and I talked to a dermatologist in Ireland (Dr P. Prendergast) who highly recommended him. Dr Prendergast had a HT himself performed by Dr Anastasakis. When I enquired last year Dr Anastasakis charged about €2.50 per graft for FUE.
  17. Cheers bro. Yeah I think there's 2 or 3 of them anyway, with Saifi being the most well-known. There's a chap there called Koloniski or something like that, he also has a lot of experience, although he actually quoted me €8,000+ which was more expensive than Saifi. There is of course less experienced clinics in Poland too. They are cheaper but they might be more risky than some of the more established places. I went to one called HairMax (I think that's what it was) in Bielska-Biela 3 - 4 years ago. I didn't have much money at the time, I discovered them on Qunomedical. They were going to do something like 1,800 grafts for €2,500. They didn't perform surgery on me because I had psoriasis on my scalp at the time. In hindsight I'm glad I ended up going to Saifi 3 years later, because he has the experience and what not, but I was also impressed by the ethical standards and honest conservative approach to surgery offered by the cheaper clinic in Bielska-Biela. I have no idea if that transplant would have been hugely successful or not, but I'm inclined to think it might have gone alright.
  18. Hey, I do usually wear my bangs down, although sometimes I quiff it up just a little. I'll do a few different styles and take pics of them here in due course Good idea, maybe I'll wait until I thin out more before going back again.
  19. Thanks guys. I'll do a slicked back one and a range of other styles over the next few weeks maybe to give you all a better idea of how it truly looks. I hope everybody here is keeping well
