Some believe that if you persevere your body ‘adapts’ and the sides lessen or aren’t apparent.

Others believe if you are prone to sides you are prone to sides, however titration seemingly helps in some instances.

I have read a lot on finasteride for coming up to 10 years now, and have even consulted with one of the highest trained urological consultants in the UK to talk specifically about the prospect of starting to use it, and from what I gather it’s the accumulation of the suppression that is the issue in those who unfortunately suffer from the unwanted effects - however sensitivity levels are very individual, so some may experience issues very shortly after starting, others medium term, others long term, and then of course those who don’t experience anything noticeable at all throughout their whole time taking it.

It would be cool to hear from someone who got rid of the sides by just continuing the drug

So are your erections back to normal since stopping, you said your sides went away fast after stopping the drug ?

My only side effect was weaker erection (and less morning erection) and I feel like it is getting better, not 100% yet though but I cannot say with 100% confidence cause I haven’t been paying attention when I started taking it

Awesome to hear that, how long were you on the drug and what was your dosage? Any reason you hopped off? I’m about to hit 2 months, don’t see an improvement in erections yet. Its better on some days then others. I can understand the sperm volume part but weaker erections suck. Also how much better do you feel since being off it, almost at 100?, I highly doubt the sides are permanent. I’m just hoping my sides go away with continuance of the drug.

I was on the drug almost 3 months and I got off of that because of the problems that I mentioned in the post. It was nothing serious I was just concerned about my erections. Now a third week after stopping and I feel like there has been some slight improvement though I cannot say because I wasn’t monitoring it before so..... I will start taking it again maybe in one or two weeks and I hope this time it’ll be okay. Maybe you can tell me if your sides go away by continuing the drug

Hey, I’m taking .25 mg every day. I’ve also had some mild sides. My erections are weaker, I feel like I don’t get fully hard. I don’t get morning wood anymore since starting the drug. My sleep volume is also lower, some days are better then others for my erections. Have you seen any improvement ? I’m 2 months in and I don’t want to quit. Do you have any sources stating continuance of the drug will eliminate the sides ?

Hey, actually I stopped taking it at all and I’m off now for two weeks. My problems from sides got a lot better fast so I’m thinking about starting again. Will wait till I fully recover and then start one more time

Did you notice this happening AFTER increasing your dosage to 1mg MWF? If so, cut down on the dosage and see how your body reacts. The fact that you're not getting as many morning erections leads me to believe it's not psychogenic in nature (nocebo effect, performance anxiety, etc.).

If you're still getting side effects on the lower dose, stop taking oral finasteride and use a topical finasteride/minoxidil combo. As always, feel free to reach out anytime.

Actually I can’t really say when I started to notice anything. I was increasing the dosage gradually and I wasn’t paying too much attention to potential sides cause I didn’t want to think about it at all.

also I have read many times that people that experienced mild sides eventually got through them by just simply continuing the drug.

maybe I should try to cut down the dosage to 0.5mg MWF but I kind of feel like I don’t have enough now😅

  6. Hey guys,

I have been taking fin for almost 3 months now. Started at 0.25mg MWF and now I’m doing 1mg MWF. Throughout the time I have noticed that my erections are kind of weaker (not 100% sure though) and also I feel like the morning wood occurs very rarely since the start of meds. No other noticeable side effects so far noticed for me. However, I would like to ask you if someone who has experienced the same problem has recovered by continuing taking the pills or I should stop taking it altogether or maybe just take a pause.  Since I started thinking about it it’s also becoming a mental problem.

    cheers

Right now, I am taking 1mg 3x a week as instructed by Dr. Cooley in Charlotte, NC.

Hey @Wbhairguy, can I ask you how was is fin working for you? Did your hair get any better? Or at least not worse? Because I’m on the same regimen and I feel like it’s not really working for me

@Kharmacomaby this you mean not taking fin before you have kids at all or just to get off of it for some period before trying to conceive?

Ι I wouldn't take finasteride before having kids, even if there is 1% possibility something happening.

  8. Hey guys,

i am at the end of month 2 of taking finasteride (first 0.25mg 3x a week then 0.5mg 3x a week) and it seems it haven’t done any difference. I have heard about finasteride initial shedding that’s taking place after starting consuming but I would like to know how long it usually lasts. Since I feel like I have more hair in the sink than on the head I feel like I should increase the dosage, not sure how though. I was wondering maybe gradually work my way to 1mg 3x times a week but I still feel like it won’t be enough so wanted to ask you what to do with those other empty days.

    thanks a lot

In these two articles it actually just supports the thing you said before, to get off fin while trying to conceive which is perfectly fine for me. I was hoping someone with experience would comment also

thank you for your advice by the way :)

  10. Hey guys,

so I have been on fin almost for a month now without any change (still shedding as hell) but also no noticeable side effects so so far so good. Anyway I have been taking 0.25mg three times a week (MWF) and I think I should increase the dose. I wanted to ask you what do you think is the best solution. Maybe 0.5mg 5 times a week (every work day) or 0.25mg every day in the week.
Also I wanted to ask you if there have been any links ever, between finasteride and fertility problems since I’m quite young so it’s a long way for me and I have read some sceptical threads about this topic. I know there shouldn’t be but maybe I would just like to hear a confirmation.

    Looking forward to your responses

Yep good place to start, gradually titrate as you feel comfortable. I started with the same dosage a year ago and have moved now to 1mg

Thanks. Unfortunately few days ago I received my meds and they were not pills as I thought they would be but capsules instead. So there is no possible way to cut it in quarters. Any suggestions there? Should I take one capsule ( it’s 1mg) two times a week or maybe three times? Or should I dump these capsules and order pills instead. Thanks very much

I would say there is no difference personally. From memory Aindeem is produced by Accord.

Unfortunately, I was going to order from there now, and I realised that they cannot ship out of UK. I am from Slovakia. Do you have some recommendations on how to get the meds to me for a reasonable cost?

I have had experience of both online pharmacies. Never had any issues with either. Sometimes one has a better offer than the other. Probably the most trusted ones in the Uk.

Thanks so much. Which one would you recommend more though? Or which brand is "better" lets say, aindeem or accord? Or there is no difference?

  14. Hey guys,

last month I have been struggling quite a lot with obtaining finasteride. Since I am from Europe it is not possible for me to order from keeps for example and it has been hard to find a verified supplier of this type o fmedication in Europe. I found these two websites that are quite cheap:

    https://www.simpleonlinepharmacy.co.uk/online-doctor/hair-loss/finasteride/

I believe they sell 1mg tablets branded accord

    https://www.pharmica.co.uk/hair-loss/finasteride/

    This one have 1mg aindeem

I was wondering if there is someone here who has experience with these two  online pharmacies and can give me some review. Also if there is someone who can direct me somewhere where I could buy Propecia in Europe online stores, that would be very greatly appreciated since I´ve heard that other brandings than propecia seem to have a higher rate of sides so propecia would be prefered but if you say there is no difference, I am also open to try ones mentioned above.

Thank you for all of your advice

is there any kind of online dr. visits in your country?  i use heydoctor.com in USA..  you got to just give them a few pics of your hair and a pic of your photo id.   it  cost $20... they send the prescription to the pharmacy of your choice.

Actually no thats the problem. There is no possibility of getting prescription for fin in my country at all, doesnt matter if online or not. Thats why i want to find a way to get it but the sources i found are quite expensive so im looking for something cheaper regarding to prescription

  16. Hey guys, i just have a quick question

I want to buy finasteride, lets say three months worth supply for start. Since i cannot get a prescription in my country i need to get that first. I was talking with dr bisanga but he is charging 50€ for prescription alone and i was wondering if there are any verified cheaper options.

    Thanks so much

It's such a shame that people are so afraid of finasteride. I'm sure the nocebo effect it is collectively having is far greater than any actual sides. Because I feel you are at risk for nocebo, I think you should start off with a lower, less frequent dosage as @1978matt said.

Yes well the only fear i have is coming from this forum from people that share negative experience with it. So thats the only source of my fear since i have been reading quite a lot of negative experiences here lately
