Dollar to euro conversion is 1.00/1.18 so while the shipping cost sucks, the price for the finasteride is decent for 1mg pills compared with here in the US -is he giving you 1mg pills or 5mg pills that you cut 4 ways?

The 5mg pills are alot cheaper (at least they are here in the US) -but you do get a little bit of a higher dosage that way -1.25mg per pill, so you may not want to start out that way since you are so concerned about side effects. - And I know its easier said than done, but try not to dwell or obsess about the possibility of side effects, in the FDA trials about 3% reported they got side effects and about half of those were not even given the actual drug, they were taking the placebo. If you haven't already been checked out by your doctor have him make sure you are in generally good health, normal testosterone levels, then if you get the sides go back and see him and see if anything has changed.

Thank you, and yes he is offering 1mg tablets. But im not sure what dosage should i start with. I mean if 0.5mg EOD or 1mg every day or something different...

  2. Hey guys, i have decided to give finasteride a try eventhough im terrified of sides. I was thinking of obtaining it from dr Bisanga since he told me he offers it also with prescription ( for 50€ ). In my country i cannot get a prescription for fin for hairloss so i need to get it elsewhere. Do you think i should get it from dr bisanga or you know about some cheaper options (bisanga - 50€=prescription+30€=shipping+40€fin itself)?

Also, my second question is, what dosage would you recommend to start up with and how often. I also want to start oral minoxidil but later when i will be able to assess fin affect.

Thank a lot for all responses

I'm waiting too to what might be the cause of your hair loss.

In my mind i am already settled with this being MPB but since they told me there are no signs of any miniaturization i started wondering a bit

Trichologist are not doctors, they should not be giving medical diagnosis’s. Only a dermatologist can diagnose you with seborrheic dermatitis. You would have flaking, itching, sores. You don’t even have any visible dandruff.

Before i cut my hair, i had a lot of dandruff btw and my hair used to be quite greasy. And i have been having maybe two or three red dots/flakes that i saw in frontal area when my hair got thinner. Since i cut my hair, it has been rare to see any dandruff

I would go to an actual doctor and not a trichologist, a dermatologist would need to diagnose you. But I’m 99.9% convinced it is not seborrheic dermatitis. I don’t see any signs in your pictures, certainly you’d be able to see signs if the condition is so severe it is causing hair loss. It’s easier to live in denial, than accept reality. But the sooner you accept reality, the better you’ll be. Take it from me.

Bro im not denying anything. As i said earlier it is also hard for me to believe that this would be the cause. I just wanted to ask people if there is any slight chance that these doctors are right.

Go to the derm and have them scope you.  Typically SD is most prevalent in the donor. And, if you do have some kind of condition, they can prescribe some type of steroid to help you.  Is this something you've always had? Are you itching all the time? Or just happened all of the sudden?

The photos of the scopes show mostly "thicker strands" and little to no miniaturization - but again we are doing this by observation. And, by looking at your photo, it seems you have little to no loss.  Perhaps you are experiencing a shedding phase? Have you noticed any hair in the tub, pillow, etc?

    T

Well approximatelly 2 years ago, my hair started to thin very fast and also i was loosing so much of it. They looked very ill and oddly shaped, and mt scalp was feeling very unhealthy and unnatural. So yes i have noticed a lot of hair in the tub but then i cut my hair, now they are little bit longer and i cannot see any hair falling out and i am vefy careful when im searching the tub. And since i cut my hair, my scalp feels a lot better.

Did you go to a dermatologist? Did they perform a biopsy. You have a receded hairline. I have never seen sebborheic dermatitis cause hair loss in a male pattern baldness pattern. Here is a picture of what sebborheic dermatitis hair loss looks like, does that look like your head? I don't even see any dermatitis on your scalp period.

Im just telling you what they told me. No they did not perform any biopsy. They gave me these photos and that analysis below. And since it was hard for me to believe in that, i posted it here. But they seemed very confident.

  8. Hey everyone, i have joined this forum recently and have been told by almost everybody that i suffer from a male pattern baldness eventhough i thaught something else. I decided to go through a trichology examination few weeks ago and yesterday i got results. They looked at my scalp with a special microscope, took photos and sent it to Germany to the lab. Results say, that there is no sign of male pattern baldness on my head because they discovered that i have seborrhoeic dermatitis and that should be the cause of my hair loss (and maybe some hair cycle disorders). They said that i have normal average hair density, hair thickness, thin hair count and distribution of hairs in hair units. So my question is, do you think they could be right and this is the cause? Because i already gave up regarding to this matter but this gave me just a little bit of a small light.

As others and myself have mentioned going on Fin will maintain what you have. And you do have a lot of hair. Yes we can see MPB progressing but honestly right now it’s ok.

Yes yes i know, not too many people noticed. Actually just my gf knows that i am struggling so much but once it came to my mind, it never went away and its just getting worse.

First step, try fin, start a low dose and work your way up.

if you rush this decision now, you’ll regret it later. Your best move is to swallow the emotions you’re feeling right now and understand this is a long term game, and you will win. Tough to face at 21 I know.

research and consult enough, at least 3 doctors and get their opinions on the age relation to your situation. If medications is tolerated well and your hair is maintained, you may be able to get it sooner. My understanding is the age they cut off typically is 25

Yes but if it was so easy to swallow my emotions, i wouldnt be here you know. And waiting 4 years till im 25 so it can be done is also not a very motivational for me. Im not saying your not right, and i thank you for your advice im just saying how i feel

So sorry to hear this. There is lots of options you have. Trying the shaved look. Using concealers etc.
Getting on Fin if needed. Did you show any pics in your previous posts?

Yes i tried a shaved look but my family and everyone else said they were afraid of me lol :D . So that was not the best solution for me. And yes i posted a pic. And the fin is okay for me (didnt try yet) but my problem are temples so far and from what i heard fin should not work that much in that area so HT pretty much only option there

  12. Hello, few weeks ago i have added a post, where are honestly thought that my hair loss problem was not genetic, but then i realized that it actually is. This problem literally ended my whole social life. Before, i was having a quite party life, lots of friends and girls and i was living the life. But then it all stopped and i have been unable to go out, all of my preferences changed. Id rather spend time somewhere alone then to go lets say just for a walk to the city. It actually came to the point, where i am "okay" that i will have a boeing life, that i will not go out with people anymore and etc. But i want to do something about it. In my first post i was said that it is to early for me to have a HT since i am just 21 but i want to ask once again. Is it really that big a risk to get maybe a little procedure (more than happy to start the fin) and be okay for a few years and live, and then after some time if it gets worse on fin, go ahead with another procedure again for some time?

Because i see the point of waiting till im approximatelly 25, but when i think about the waiting, it makes me feel like im loosing my youth and all of my previous will to live.

    Thank you for your responses

  13. Thank you for your responses, and if it is really mpb, is it possible that it would stay like this or most probably it will proceed further and i will get ,,bald"? Because i cant compare myself with noone in my family so i dont know what to expect. I honestly thought ( and still think ) that it is my fault because i was styling my hair like a moron without any carefullness. Many people warned me about it but i was stupid, also my parents think its my fault. I cant clearly explain what was i doing but believe me it was not normal, i had kind of curly hair and it bothered me so i always tried to straighten them manually....so i really dont know

If they refused you, they are ethical. Are you trying to cover a scar or something? How can you be sure it’s not genetic?

Nono my problem is caused by physical damage and wrong handling of hair. We have no history of baldness in our family that is why I think it should be just one time thing for good
