  1. Good to be on finasteride prior to a transplant for a while to be confident its helping and stabilized loss. Its only advised to stop minoxidil a brief time prior to surgery so no benefits will be lost as patients can resume its use soon after the procedure.
  2. Redness can still be apparent after 3, 4 -8+ weeks on some patients so do not be too concerned at the 2 week stage as it is very common to still have redness. There are a number of posts on products to help with healing witch hazel being one of them. Dr. Scott Alexander
  3. Thanks for posting this Dr. Bloxham. It will certainly help many who have concerns or questions over their growth. Dr. Scott Alexander
  4. Shedding from finasteride generally happens to hair that is in the miniaturizing process and the hair that sheds will regrow after a few months, stronger. Hair doesn't always shed but not uncommon when starting any treatment such as minoxidil too. If you stop taking finatseride after a long period you will certainly lose the benefits from taking it but only retreat to where you would have been if not taken it at all. Dr. Scott Alexander
  5. Thank you for the kind words. We look forward to following your progress so please keep the forum updated as you will find much support here. Continue to keep in close communication with Spex too as there isn't much he cant help you with. Dr. Scott Alexander
  6. Congratulations on your recent surgery. Everything sounds normal at this point. You are at the very start of the journey and its a long journey ahead so be patient. Continue to heal well. Dr Scott Alexander
  7. Cutting your hair now is not a problem. You will not harm your newly transplanted hairs in any way at all so do not be concerned. Dr. Scott Alexander
  8. I recommend to all my patients to put clear before pictures next to their current situation and compare the actual growth. Often they are pleasantly surprised as forget where they were at the start of the process. Have you tried this ? Dr. Scott Alexander
  9. I agree with the above. Wait and see how you feel and make sure you do not push yourself to far too soon. You will know so listen to your body. Dr. Scott Alexander
  10. It is very early days as growth and maturing of the hairs with continue for many more months to come. You have a long way to go. Dr. Scott Alexander
  11. This is all very normal at this early stage of the growth process. There are some good videos and topics on growth timelines on here which will benefit you and ease any anxiety. You have a long way to go so do not worry. Dr. Scott Alexander
  12. You have nothing to worry about. I'm in agreement with the posters above. Wash as normal. Dr. Scott Alexander
  13. Hi all, This patient came to us 1 year ago for a repair procedure after receiving a sub par result with a local clinic and he wanted to have FUE via ARTAS. He recently returned to the office for follow up pictures and to report how happy he was with the results, and rightly so as they look even better in person. The patient is taking finasteride to help stop progressive loss and its working very well. He received 1804 FU's via ARTAS and I also used ACELL. Dr. Scott Alexander
  14. No need to shower with extremely hot just shower and cut hair as normal.
  15. Everything looks really good so far. You are right on schedule, and I look forward to continue to see your progress. Thank you again for all of your kind words and feedback.

  17. Hello Jdale584, Thank you for you kind words. It was a pleasure to help you. Here are your pictures from your session and also 1 weeks post op. Please kindly keep us all informed on your progress. Grow well ! Regards, Dr. Scott Alexander
  18. I would try using aerosol sunscreen instead of the lotion, which should help with the greasiness. Yes, it is fine to use Toppik in addition to the sunscreen. I hope this helps.
  19. I want to thank everyone who came out to consultations with myself in Hawaii on April 16th. Thank you for making it a great success!!! I can't wait to see everyone in London next month.
  20. It sounds like you are right on schedule. I am truly excited to see your results. They should be fantastic.
  21. JayPed, I tell my patients, from living in Phoenix, Arizona, a very sunny place, that after 3 weeks they may rub sun screen on their grafted area in stead of wearing a hat. But IMO I feel it is very important to put sun screen on every day. I hope this helps.
  22. I hope you're doing well. I look forward to continue seeing your progress.
  23. emcgrath, It looks great!! Very exciting stuff. Spex is correct, the redness goes away. The waiting game is the hardest part in my opinion. Happy Growing!! Becket, There very few clinics out there where the doctor actually places the grafts. I over see every aspect of the transplant procedure including making sure my girls are performing perfectly, I just don't place the grafts. I believe that Spex can attest to this. Thank you all for the kind words!!
  24. I agree with what Spex said. Garageland also made a great point that in my experience the crown takes longer to even start growing in. Everyone is different. I hope that helps.
