  1. The major problem of making studies for such a medication is that people know the possible side effects. I can almost guarantee that 99% of people that got lower libido, got it because they got depressed over possible side effects. Someone should pay balding people to take fin for some time and the examine them. I know this might not be the ethical solution but if people take money  whats the worst that can happen? Those effects were mostly reversable.

Hi again, i did a 2 day wash. After the 2nd day it was already much better. Doesnt mean i m still no thinning though. I found some of my hairs being thinner than the others. And as it looks like on pics, the recession progresses at a slow but certain pace. I still dont wanna go on minox. I dont wanna go on fin because i already suffer from depression that doesnt have to do anything with hairloss in general, so it might get harder with fin. I want to give minox as much time as possible because minox just stops working after some time when our scalp gets used to it. I see minox more of a "buy 2 or 3 years time" medication.

So about 6 months ago I went out on a few dates with a chick. She was a great sort.probably the best looking women I have ever dated..She saw me on my facebook profile and asked me out..I was very happy to be dating this girl.My hair looks ok passable when styled correctly and with a bit of toppik in the crown area..So anyway after a few dates last year she didnt want to continue the relationship..I was upset but deep down I was ok because I felt she was too good for me anyway, and the facade was over I didn't have to worry about applying toppik and getting caught out covering up..Fast forward 6 months and she rang me up and said sorry for her princess behaviour and can we go out again..At first I was over the moon happy she rang back but on the other hand I'm worried about the constant thought of getting busted concealing my hairloss..what would you guys do in My situation?ps she is very well set up money wise (millionaire).

I know how annoying is to hear "just shave it bro". Hairloss has been ruining lives no matter how crazy that sounded. But if hairloss is affecting your life this much, maybe focusing on the beard and shaving your head would give you a massive mental relief. I think that its better to be "less attractive" but happy and confident with what you ve got than depressed over a long period time over hairloss. Since hairloss is affecting you this much, are you doing somethign to stop it? Are you on some of the "big 3"? What is your plan? If you are not planning to commit on saving your hair then shave it. Watchign your hair recede over  time will just screw you over mentally and phisically. You ll look less attractive with the balding hair than a shaved head. Let girls meet you first time with shaved head. If they never seen you with hair, then why would they even care that you are bald now? Thats why people look at the actor from transporter, bruse willis and vin diesel as attractive bald men, because nobody fucking saw them with hair lmao. They built their looks on being bald. Think about it

Meds should be able to help with doctor supervision/recommendation.  Minoxidil is known to work on the crown for a good size population.  At this early stage of thinning, it may help recover what you may have lost.  You may want to try and use that first and see what happens in about a year.  Applied twice daily, you can do one application in morning and one at night.    If tolerable, finasteride is another good option.  But again, the best way to guage which med is actually working for you is to try one or the other for a year and if it works stick to the regimen.  You can try one or the other, or, both at same time, but it is up to you.  Hoping you have success and a good recovery.   Remember, you may see sheds during early use and some people give up thinking nothing is working.  It takes about a year to see a sizeable impact of the medication.  Keep a consistent monthly photo record to see how your progress is coming along.  Best of luck.

I have seen people doing minox only once a day before sleep and it worked well for them. Half life of minox is like 22-23hrs so ...

    0evidence bro, be honest, 0

"is bad for health" is all we hear about salt too, and people are iodine deficient and losing hair on that hardcore

try to show more evidence, we are mature enough to do that.. when we want to prove something, i m speaking about hair loss here, not about heart or getting fat.

"we are mature enough to do that" Says the guy who is literally trolling and acting like an ignorant piece of shit to gain reactions. Nobody is going to feed the troll by spending active effort to prove him wrong with collecting evidence

If you want to determine if this is being caused by an accumulation of hair fall due to only washing your hair every 2-3 days, perhaps try washing it daily and seeing if you notice a difference. Also, if this is something that seems to have started out of nowhere, you could set up an appointment with a specialist to see if there's any underlying issues going on. At least then you'll either have peace of mind or answers as to what may be happening - in which case you'll know what your options are in terms of addressing it.

For what it's worth, I understand this panic all too well - and I know that the more I focus on something like this it can become obsessive and then I make it out to be worse than it is. Try to take a step back from it and give your mind space to readjust and regain perspective. Then you'll have a clearer mind and be in a better position to take the appropriate action to handle this.

That advice about stepping back was spot on. Thanks i will try to be more positive and stop overthinking it. I have 2 pictures with 8 month gap. I did have 2 stressful surgeries 1 month ago though (just a side info). You can tell a difference. One was taken today, the other one 8 months ago. I have washed my hair 24 hrs ago. I pulled by myself atleast 70 hairs and i have undercut type of hairstyle so who knows how much on sides fell off..it just felt wrong. Im going through a lot of stress because of many things, including hairloss as well

  7. I had a thought today, im not a doctor or anything, this may sound stupid also. But lets think about how men change their hormone levels over time. DHT plays a huge role in puberty around developing sexual organs etc etc. But when puberty is over..Men, starting from their middle 20s, lose testosterone and have higher DHT levels. Wouldnt that mean your libido will be high too since your DHT levels are higher because testosterone is converting at higher rate to DHT? And how come the older you are, the lower your libido is? What if medications like propecia cause ED to some men because of something else and not DHT? Just a thought...

In terms of there being more hair fall when you go 2-3 days without washing your hair, this is perfectly normal/common - particularly if you use hair product. We shed an average of 100 hairs a day, so when you don't wash your hair, a lot of those hairs stay loose on top of your head. And depending on what sort of product you use, they could really pile up. Wash your hair daily for a few consecutive days and see if you notice a difference. If all you're experiencing is normal shedding, you won't notice anything drastic on a daily basis.

Also, Lasercap - it's actually quite common (and often recommended) to not wash your hair every day - particularly with women or guys with longer hair. The natural oils that build up often even make the hair look better. I asked my barber the other day how he styles his hair so well and he told me it was a combination of product, wearing a hat, and not washing it daily. ;)

I have switched to a "custom made" shampoo from nettle that is more of an extract of nettle rather than a real shampoo (its not that bubbly and dense). So i m guessing that i m failing to wash out all the hair while using that shampoo and it stacks up even more, so when i hit the 3 day mark it gets scary. When im washing out the shampoo, my hair gets "hard" or i wouldnt be able to go through it with fingers. So i guess thats the reason i have that many hairs stacked up? I ve just bought nizoral which i m gonna use for 2 weeks every 3 days, then i m gonna use it once a week once i get rid of dandruff. Anyways thanks both of you for replies.

Why would you not wash your hair for days at a time, (or is this the first time you do this)?  I am guessing you did not pull intentionally; rather, as you ran your fingers through your hair it just happened naturally.

There are two types of loss, the one you see and the one you don't.  The one you see, shedding, is normal.  Most believe 100 hairs a day is the norm.  The follicle gets tired of producing hair and it goes into a dormant stage.  3-4 months later the hair returns.  This will happen randomly to all the hair in your head.

(The hair you don't see, which is truly hair loss, is miniaturization of the strand.  Eventually the hair will dissipate and disappear).

Stress, while not the culprit, can prompt the loss of hair sooner. So stop stressing. It is likely you could not do anything about the issue anyway.

Honestly, I would not worry about it...but would be more proactive in your hygiene.

I would intentionally go with my hands through the hair. after 2 days of not washing my hair i can pull 2 3 hairs every time i go through the hair. I feel like it wouldnt stop ever, even after 10 times i would keep getting atleast one hair. On the wash day, lets say 2 days also, while i m shampooing hair, i can for sure pull 6 to 10 hairs (when i pull hair with both hands) almost every time i go through it. It scares the shit out of me because i dont know if i just didnt pay attention before or it started to get more extreme. i could end up with 150 hairs atleast and i still feel it would never stop coming out (after 3 days of not washing my hair).

What additionally stresses me is that when i do the same pull test on my sides, i would barely get 2 hairs out, its mostly everything on the middle side of the head where people get hairloss. I could lie to myself that hair on sides easier falls off so it doesnt stack up, but even i cant believe that story. I m giving 6 more months to my hair to see if theres any difference and i m getting on some medication to prevent it. So far i m using dermaroller 1mm every 7 days, nizoral and some home made stinging nettle "shampoo". Its not really a shampoo its more like an extract of nettle that was cooked or something.

  10. Today after 2.5 days of not washing my hair i started pulling hairs before washing my hair out of curiosity. I kept pulling 5 hairs with my fingers going through the hair. I pulled atleast 50 hairs before washing hair. While shampooing hair, i pulled another 50 for sure. After drying my hair, i started pulling hairs again, 50. Lets say i pulled out 150 hairs. My hair is medium sized, kinda thick and the only early sign of balding i have is tiny recession on temples. How much is really normal to pull out when not washign hair for 2 to 3 days? Its really hard for me to tell because there is a good chance i didnt wash all the fallen hair last time i washed my hair. I also had a very stressful week and this is first time pulling this many hairs. Any thoughts on this?

Again, show some proof please. I think you have made this up, cause it sounds good in the bro-science world.

DUT blocks almost 100 % of DHT. Still people who use DUT have a libido. Hell, hard to believe I know, but: Even women have a libido despite their low DHT levels...

You are right about the reason for T raise, though.

Womens libido works totally different than mens libido, you cant compare these 2 things. Just because some of the DHT is blocked it doesnt mean you dont have any left which means you can still have libido

I remember when I was 18 my gf at the time had a brother who was in his 20’s and  balding. I remember he had an onion and garlic shampoo. He swore by it, and a year later he lost all of his hair. Definitely not something i would try.

Yeah, if you are obviously balding you shouldnt give a try to things like that and stick to what has been proven to work

The medication also raises testosterone. I am not aware of a study which gives a direct correlation between DHT and libido … and especially not between FIN and "how hard your boner gets".

Please show us this study before you claim "100 % guarantees".

The only reason it increases testosterone (something like 8%) is because it blocks the conversion to DHT. DHT and libido are very much directly related. DHT is necessary for libdo. Now depending on how much you block it, you will influence your libido a tiny bit or a noticeable bit

So true. I wasted a lot of time trying all those things too. Shampoos, hair oils, lots of jungle nature stuff, eatables, basically anything I found - it was on my hair. Wish I had taken Finasteride immediately then.

Taking finasteride is about taking sacrifices. Its all in priorities. I can 100% guarantee you that your boner will never be as hard as it used to be, whether you got the sides or not. If you are happy will that tradeoff, then good for you. My choice will always be - start minoxidil/dermarolling on time, if it works it works, if not screw it. But i guess you started treating it too late so you hopped on everything you could to get it back.

I think a dumb idea is writing when you have no idea what I'm talking about tho, raw eggs are the best source on earth of choline as it gets destroyed on temp, that choline goes straight into gluthiatone antioxidant aka fountain of youth; most bodybuilders drink 10-12 raw eggs daily.

Why do you recommend vit D thou ? I am talking straightly about hair loss here, not about health benefits,

I still don't see any evidence you have provided ? on saturated/unsaturated fat and cholesterol causing further hair-loss

I m not here to site you evidence that saturated fat and cholesterol is causing further hairloss or heart diseases. Bodybuilders who eat 10 whole eggs, especially raw a day, are morons. If there is 180mg of cholesterol in one egg yolk, you need a simple math to know that its a really bad idea to take this many eggs. Never said anything about unsaturated fat.

When you talk about hairloss, your overall health is also very important. Vitamin D3 is also specifically good for hair. If you are vitamin D deficient, you can start losing hair at faster pace. Just like not getting enough sleep.

Now back to simple math. Recommended daily cholesterol intake is around 300-400mg. If one egg has 180mg, how much would you go over the top with 10 eggs a day? Lets go buddy you can do it.

  16. 6 hours ago, axor said:

I drink raw eggs daily for choline and cysteine, also drink extra virgin olive oil to gain fat.

So why would I avoid saturated fat and cholesterol ? can you explain ?

High cholesterol makes your blood vessels tighter, less circulation, high risk of heart disease and many other issues. Saturated fat boosts up LDL cholesterol. Saturated fat shouldnt be avoided tho, but it should be taken in low dosages. Drinking eggs is just a very dumb idea. You shouldnt take more than 400mg of cholesterol a day, and one egg large egg yolk has 180 mg of cholesterol. I can only assume that you are taking atleast 3 egg yolks which is already a lot. Cholesterol is present in meat, dairy products, so you can end up stacking up a good amount of cholesterol by eating too much of all of that. Eat 50grams of fiber a day, especially if your diet is high in cholesterol, it can help reduce it.

So. Eat a lot of veggies. Take a shit ton of brocolli, carrots and other veggies in the mixer, make a soup out of it and chug it down for the easy micronutrients and fiber. Take vitamin D supplement, thats a must on winter. 90% of the people are in deficiency of that vitamin during winter so taking a supplement is a good idea. (up to 500IU a day, i take 10 000 every 2 days because thats how much the pill has). Protein get from chicken breasts, beans, lentils and rice. Mixing these foods will bring you a lot of health benefits.

Some foods particularly rich in creatine have the potential of accelerating the conversion of testosterone to DHT thus, accelerating hair loss.

I can confirm that creatine doesnt raise DHT. I have a gene for hairloss, been using creatine for 3 year. For the duration of those 3 years i havent had shedding. Study does show the increase in DHT in football players as i remember but could be for many other reasons. I stopped using Creatine supplement because i didnt even want to risk a slightest chance of dht increase because the supplement itself is not worth it and it barely works. Creatine in food is extremely hard to get because its usually in raw meat, which we dont eat. To get a daily creatine dose you would need to eat a shit ton of raw beef. Once you cook the meat creatine is gone

I totally get it.  There are patients against using the medication and I respect their point of view.

No need to increase the amount of Rogaine...just keep doing a cap full of the foam once or twice a day - whatever your schedule permits.

I would encourage you to add laser therapy to the mix.  Maybe even PRP.

Im gonna do anything to prolong the end result which will be my bald head. My last resort will be minox, until then, microneedling, healthy diet, vitamin shampoo and cold washing..and hope i survive my 30s :D I m going to look up for PRP tho, never read much about it, might even do that
