Do absolutely nothing. Your hair is fine

Drugs are a big decision with potential consequences

    Transplants recover lost ground

You don't need either at the moment

So whats bothering me is that one of my temples thinned out. Just one. Its still not bad but it can get worse and i thought that topical fin would help me avoid stress and future hair transplants. Good thing about fin is that you can just stop it and not lose all the hair you held on to..unlike minoxidil which i dont want to start yet.I 100% get what you are saying but im scared of losing more hair than i have right now. I shed a shit ton. Uneven temple hairloss has been associated with classic MPB symptom as i heard

  2. 24hrs ago i washed my hair. Few moments ago i combed out around 70 hair out of my head into the sink. Its a terrifying sight. I dont know if im  just lying to myself at this point, i became delusional. These are few pics i have. I cant tell if my hair got thinner last whole year since pictures are very similar. But i feel like its not normal to just casually get 70 hairs just 1 day after washing hair. The only thing that can come in play is that i never comb my hair, and yesterday i just washed out the shampoo off my hair without using fingers so some hair might have stayed blocked in the other hair.

One thing is for sure, my hairloss didnt progress for these 1 and a half years that i m monitoring it. But since i became aware of that condition, i ve started noticing hairs when i shampoo my hair. I can get a decent amount of hairs from my head and sometiems i feel like it would never stop. Whenever i would go through my hair i would get atleast 1 or 2 and that goes to infinity. Scary crap.

My father is bald as fuck, my brother (33) is also bald and my 2nd brother (31) has temples thinning and crown as well. The only person from my fathers side that is not bald is his brother that managed to keep his hair in his 50s. His head is not full of hair but he kept an impressive amount of hair (he still had the gene for hairloss apparently). My hair is way better than my brothers(33) hair when he was my age, 24.

Is there a chance that those 70 hairs in the sink were partially stuck hair from not washing the hair properly or i m going bald? I think that i m in the early stages of MPB and that i m gonna slowly progress untill i have noticable hairloss in my mid 30s. What is your opinion on this? Also i need an advice for topical fin, because thats the first thing i m gonna jump on if i start the treatment. I want to know if i can avoid mixing fin with minoxidil and what substitute i can use to mix it with?

My current routine is taking suplements for zinc and vitamin D3, doing dermarolling every 6 days + applying nizoral 2% or pure nettle shampoo.

  3. So i think that i m in the earliest stages of hairloss. I have it coming, it will hit me in the next couple of years. My familiy members usually start losing noticably at their 30s, and i m 24 right now. So i didnt wanna screw with the hormones and take oral finesteride. I wanted to give a try at some point in time to topical Fin. What can i mix it with that is not minoxidil? I heard that it doesnt get to your scalp well without alcohol. Does anyone know how does that work? I hope there is a good hair dermatologist in my area that knows this stuff...

I really dont wanna go on oral fin since i already have anxiety and depression issues which will just worsen with playing around with hormones. I also know that topical fin still affects serum DHT but i would still give it a try since it doesnt work like minoxidil and i wont experience sudden hairloss right after stopping it but rather delay it.

If it started about a month after you dyed your hair then it could be a reaction to the hair dye. Don't dye your hair any more and also don't tie it in a bun or pulled back. See if there's any improvement over the next few months. You can also go to a dermatologist, but my experience with dermatologists checking for hair loss hasn't been the best. He looked at me, pulled a few strands of hair and told me my hair was not falling out and I'm fine and charged me for it. I was totally bald a year or two later.

Yeah, just because they are dermatologist they have no experience with hairloss. You can only trust people who are specialized for hairloss and those people are hard to find since hairloss is not a disease or condition that harms your health. Pulling hair has so many factors. Did you wash your hair before the test, how good did you wash your hair etc etc.

Just start FIN and Minox for prevention of MPB now, and you will be fine.

Being concerned about potential loss in the future is ok as most guys of European descent have these genes.

You don't have loss that requires a HT though

seriously? You advise this kid to go on fin and minox without even a single clue of baldness? You realize that theres only so much time you can use minox effectively? Why would he jump on DHT blockers this early?

  6. theres no big differences between dosages in DHT blocking. Surly its gonna block less of DHT but not significantly. If you plan on getting on dht blocker, *do the blood work* first. Make sure your hormones are ready for that. People get sides because they either dont have enough androgens after taking the drug or too low/too high estrogen levels

Stress is not the cause...but it can prompt the hair to go away sooner.  Now let me ask you....why are you stressing? I know it's difficult not to...but,

Think about what happened 3 months ago. Could you have done anything to prevent it? Unlikely.  So don't worry about it, tomorrow is always a better day.

Let me give you an example...My son was involved in an accident when he was 18.  Called me right after and I realized he was shaken up.."Dad, I had an accident...the car...."  "Are you alright?" I asked. "The car!" Forget the car. That can be fixed. And, can you do anything about it right now?" NO.  OK then....and that was the end of that.

Glad you are on meds.  Continue taking them.

If we stress over all that comes away, we all will be without hair in a short time.

you are such a nice lad, i enjoy reading your replies for real :)

I had mention my daily calorie intake on the other thread! And yeah my mom says im not taking all my daily vitamins that my body needs and me stressing about is not helping 😞

id say financial issues play a big part but not to the point where it’s my first priority I’m barely stable on getting resources so it’s nothing to worry about as much. Stress I mostly get it from school & work if I’m being honest.

Just remember that no matter how shitty things can get, your mind and body is made to adept to mental and physical stress. I wont tell you "stop stressing", i ve been there, i m still there, im stressing like crazy. Instead of that, forget about the hair, come back in 3 months, take another pic and compare it. I would usually have 1 day in few months where i go full panic mode but then i give it time and realize it was panic.

You do have crown thinning. To determine how aggressive it is, you ll need to take another pic in few months. As far as the treatment goes, if you ever decide to go with fin, do the blood work before taking it. You need to make sure your hormones are good because side effects happen to people who have too high or too low estrogen.

  9. Do minoxidil only before sleep, its probably going to be enough. When you wake up you wash your hair and get rid of "dandruff" that causes minox. You have nothing to lose if you do it once before sleep instead of twice a day. Half life of drug is 23 hrs so why bother doing it twice and having issues with scalp? That will eliminate your issues with greasy hair

I doubt these shampoos do anything to help. The only shampoo that I would try that has studies backing it to help hair loss is ketoconazole containing shampoos at a concentration of 1-2%. Do not use more than 2-3 times a week as they are very drying.

Those "dht blocking" shampoos probably just have ketnoconazole in it with bunch of useless shit to market it as an unique formula. Just like they do it with minoxidil. They put it with some random shit and claim its their working formula when in reality the only thing that is working is minoxidil in it
