Started 2.5mg daily in Dec 2021,
Increased to 5mg daily after 6 weeks,
Currently at around 9 months after starting 5mg daily;
- Resting HR remains >60
- Avg BP reading from last 3 months 118/64
-Body hair more coarse, and faster growth rate (face, chest, legs, back)
-Scalp hair healthier shine/texture,
-Scalp Hair increased growth rate
-Scalp Hair Visual Regrowth on mid scalp/Vertex/Crown
In terms of ‘adverse’ affects - I can’t think of any that I have experienced, or that have been of note.
So far it has been hugely successful for me. Never tried topical, so unable to compare. Have an ECG booked in November so will update.
Congrats!!
What Norwood are you??

Interesting article on the side-effects of oral MX and who is not a good candidate:

Does anyone know any Canadian doctors (preferably in Toronto) who have no problem prescribing this stuff??

Even the best clinics will have failed hair transplants

Thats great to hear.
Another added benefit is you wont have to put on that sticky topical solution that makes your hair look greasy

If you dont know what PFS is, here's more info: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7231981/
-
Definitely NOT psychological!!
I had a mild case of PFS but luckily my case cleared up a few months after I stopped taking FIN.
But for a very unlucky few PFS can stay with them for the rest of their lives, even if they quit taking the pills.
There's a whole forum devoted to these pharma victims: https://forum.propeciahelp.com/

I noticed on your signature, Certified physician. Who gives this certification? This is not a regulated industry.
Err, certified physician means he has a medical license I would think

Just because a doctor is great, doesnt always mean they are best suited for the case. For example, Couto has great patients with many of them being locals with amazing hair density. Couto is definitely a great surgeon, however, some people think he is best for their case, which isnt always true.
Another reference is Bisanga, I think Bisanga is a great candidate for many. Especially, because I think he takes the approach of the patient vs the end result the patient wants. He skews away from the bias that the person wants to have done and looks at it from his perspective as a surgeon and at the patients 'wants'. He will definitely reject someone if they are not a good candidate and he will try to get them to slow down and get an in person consultation. It sucks for some, but in reality its exhausting their best options vs getting a repair down the road.
So its looking for someone who works extremely well in afro hair which I think there are only a few (that I am aware of). I am sure there are many others, but not many I know that could keep the donor area maintained properly, have skill in using body hair, or ethical enough to test for pre-existing conditions. Honestly, the only one that comes to mind is Mwamba for this sort of case. I am sure there are others, but I haven't seen many well documented afro hair cases.
Agreed.
BTW isnt Dr. Diep also an African-American HT specialist??

This might be a tough case
Not a tough case at all. He's got decent donor and good beard hair as well.
If he did a partial beard/scalp hair transplant I think he could get excellent coverage
-
Oh cool, I see he's located in my home country Netherlands.
Couple of questions, please:
1. Does he perform FUE on grey hair??
2. Can he do beard hair to scalp transplants as well as Eugenix can??
3. Whats his price per FUE graft in Euros??
4. How long is his waiting list??

I didn’t take a non-stop flight. But I would recommend non-stop flights. It’s worth the extra money.
Thats what I was thinking too. If you go with connecting flights it can turn into a 24 hour trip, but non-stop cuts it down to 15 hours or so. Still a long flight but I might hit my doctor up for some sleeping pills and sleep through most of it.
-
@Melvin- ModeratorDid you take a non-stop flight to New Delhi or connecting flights??
-
I would listen to their advice and avoid any clinic who says otherwise, because Eugenix's results are excellent

Not worth the extra $600 (or whatever it is they charge these days)

Not necessarily. At the end of the day, I think what matters are results
Do you have a link to his before/after results??

I think thats pertinent to various devices the company makes, which is several. I know TED is new. Dr. Charles is actually doing a study for them. Going to see if they can include me a test subject to see how it is
Let us know if it works.
If you come out of there with a full head of hair I'm booking a flight the next day 😀

They got a couple of really bad reviews amongst some good reviews.
Usually a 3.1 google rating is really bad though, even though its a small sample size.
I would avoid this company until more information is available
-
So as a general rule I would stay FAR away from clinics who, in addition to hair transplants, do other cosmetic types of surgeries like face lifts, dermatology.....etc...etc. The reason for that is he wont be specialized in doing hair transplants and probably isnt as good as a surgeon who is

Hi! Just got mine today. Had a great consultation with my Dermatologist (US GP’s aren’t too favorable in prescribing it) so it was nice to discuss possible sides and a course of action for the next 12 months. I’ll be starting on 1.25mg for a week then settling at 2.5mg. He also mentions applying the topical for the first few days of oral dosing for a seamless transition. He also cited The NY Times article and said all physicians are getting slammed across the States😂 I’ll be watching for sides (as I have higher blood pressure than normal) and will report back.
Physicians are getting slammed for what??
Or do you mean they are getting swamped for patients requesting MX prescriptions??
-
Do you have to wear a mask for the entire flight??

This just about sums it up 😂

Can everyone please relax??!!
I dont want my thread to be closed, TYVM.
Cheers!!! 🙂

Are you being serious?? (and I assume you meant to write NO noticeable negative side effects).
I looked at the ingredients on my MX bottle and all seem to be safe to ingest.
Propylene glycol, ethanol, water, MX. Nothing toxic there
