  1. Dr. Feller has posted some pictures of his eyebrow repair work here: http://hair-restoration-info.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/346...=821003655#821003655 He's a very good doctor with consistent results, possibly a starting point for your search. You could do a search through the pictures forums for some examples.
  2. Ok, I just went and gave browsing a large gallery a shot. List of issues: 1. Specific pictures are difficult to find. They are not in order and there's no tooltips, so when viewing picture 2, the next one can be picture 7. Or 3. Or 11. With the small thumbnails and all the pictures being, by nature of this forum, pictures of hair, sometimes it's tough to find the one you want. 2. When clicking on a picture to expand it, the flash gallery window has picture #1 displayed, always. Now you get to find yours all over again. See 1. 3. No tooltips or any description of pictures which are not selected. 4. Slideshow mode should not be on by default - users generally click at a picture to view it in detail, having it fade to another is distracting. So, in the end, there's 1 large issue & 2 small ones. Pat, is sending feedback to the developer in charge of the site an option? Not having the gallery in slideshow mode by default is probably a setting on the software which they should be able to flip np. Passing a parameter from the site to the popup telling it which pic to show involves some coding but it still very easy to do for a developer. Changing the order of pictures, well, that's a bug (assuming there was no database transfer since if that's the case, the DBA could have made a mistake) and it deserves at least a bug report. And tooltips for the pictures, well, that could always be sent to whoever wrote the software as a suggestion/feedback. Sorry to get wordy, I'm a developer myself & this gallery has potential, it just needs a little bit of work Couldn't help myself.
  3. PB, try these steps: 1. Allow any & all Java apps to run (Tools-->Internet Options-->Security, then custom). There's a few options there; if you get lost, just click "restore defaults". I can't imagine Macromedia would make an installer that does not run with default security settings. Restart browser. Try to install. 2. Got any antivirus programs running? Disable them. Try to install. 3.Try rebooting before installing. Seems silly but the technical reason is, a program can crash and leave a process running in the background. A list of your processes shows up in the task manager, Ctrl+Shift+Esc - don't close anything that's owned by system!. Something may be running that interferes with the install. Good luck. I'd bet it's some assining setting in your browser that the firewall flipped which protects you from an additional 5% of threats out there while doubling your headaches. If you can't get it running, pm me
  4. Doh, that's bad news. I guess the only thing Pat can do is let the hosting company know that there's been negative user feedback and ask whether they can fix the situation, or barring that recommend one of their competitors. If the site's big enough, maybe they'll get the hint After all, any company that just up & destroys old functionality without asking their users is unlikely to be a great one to deal with.
  5. I was once a refuse engineer... I'm not proud it.
  6. Look at the bright side. If you're impotent, you don't have to worry about premature ejaculation!
  7. I can't stand the silly new flash galleries. Can we PLEASE at least have an option to view pictures the old fashioned way? Pretty please?

  9. My cost was around $10-11k (I think... don't remember the exact amount). I credit carded it and paid it off within the following 3 months since I'm fortunate enough to have a decent disposable income. As many have mentioned here, though, many doctors offer financing plans that you could take advantage of.
  10. It seems like you overpaid by about 50%. As for the results, I guess time will tell. It would help us give an opinion if you could post your immediate post-op pictures along with the # of grafts you received. Bosley has a spotty record overall - some people reported good results with them, while some got butchered. You really never know with the big chains, which is why you should avoid them in the future. Hopefully, your surgery will turn out okay. Please do post your pictures if you have them available.
  11. In other words, if the doc gets more hairs than he planned on, he'll plant those too rather than throwing them out. Throwing them out is *bad*.
  12. This thread inspired me to do a search on Hairobservator again
  13. Don't think about price when thinking about a HT; if you can;t afford the good doctors, you may be happier not having it done in the long run.
  14. They didn't seem to appear as peach fuzz for me. I simply had more & more hair gradually. I'm in month 4 now and I still don't see a difference day to day, but every few weeks I do. It's weird. I would suggest you take monthly pics if you're not doing it already and you will be able to see a difference then. Give yourself until month 3-4 and you should notice things happening.
  15. It's about 1cm in width, with that going up to 2cm in some rare cases. The length of the donor strip can vary from 10 to 30 cm. As far as how it works, go on the main site, there's a detailed explanation. But the principle is that you don't need full density to achieve a full look; less than half will do to give an illusion of fullness.
  16. I've had mine with Dr. Feller in Long Island - he's great, I would definitely consult with him if I were you. You can see my album in the photos section for a look at his work.
  17. John, you can look at my photo album in the photos section to see for yourself
  18. My dad's side of the family all have their hair, my mom's father is bald. Considering the fact that I post here, I'd say your chances are decent It's all unpredictable though. You really never know.
  19. Actually, I think Bill did overdo it with his caution there to the point of surprising me. It was almost like he was on the coalition payroll, job description being "pick holes in any positive review of a doc who isn't paying for coalition membership". I mean, asking whether he had 3 megasessions in 1 day? Everyone knows that's impossible. And calling the guy a liar. All he did was post a positive review of a doctor without providing all the details, why not ask him for more info before judging his motives rather than take the stance of "you're lying and you're a shill, post some pics and details and maybe we'll change the verdict". Now, I know that's not the case and that Bill had the best interest of other members at heart. To me and to most folks on this site, that goes without saying. But to someone coming in "off the street" not knowing the lay of the land, the initial impression may be closer to the one I detailed. I guess all I'm saying is, caution's great and I'm glad it's being exercised. But perhaps we could ease up a little on folks posting doctor reviews and give them the benefit of the doubt at first
  20. I've gone swimming again yesterday and had no extra shedding whatsoever, so it seems Pushing40 was right. Which is great. Thanks for the advice, if I didn't get it I probably wouldn't have gone back for that second time to find out
  21. Ah, thanks guys. I'll swim for a week or two and see whether the situation stabilizes, if it does - great!
  22. I'm on Proscar 1/4 daily and it's been stopping my hairloss. Last week I've gone swimming and when showering that night, I noticed a ton of shedding - as much as in the pre-finasteride days. By the next day, things were back to normal. Has anyone experienced something similar? Is it possible that chlorine causes hair to shed? I'd like to add swimming a mile/day to my lifting routine so I'm hoping this isn't the case. I'd appreciate any input on this.
  23. Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm planning a second 3,000+ session to cover the crown in another 8 months or so, at which point I should be done for a while. I'm excited about the growth, as you can tell - I'm seeing a difference at 4 months that I was expecting at 5. Dr. Feller really did a great job from what I can tell so far, hopefully time will prove me right.
