  1. I work out 7 days a week, have been since 1.5 months post op. Starting at 3 months post op I added swinmming a mile after each workout (5 days a week). Now, at 5 months post op, there's no problems whatsoever and growth continues uninterrupted. Bottom line, from personal experience: if you want to swim, swim. It won't affect your transplant at all. Anyone saying different does not have experience with it and is latching onto what ifs and maybes.
  2. Also, do you have a before picture? It's hard to judge an after pic without the before as we don't really know what was done
  3. Health reasons, you could go without immediately. Cosmetic reasons, about 4-6 months ought to be enough for you to start looking natural enough to not stand out. As far as hiding it, just tell people what you're going to do and go without a hat after a week. Save yourself a ton of hassle in the long run. It's not like anyone's going to care, really.
  4. It's possible for growth to start sooner but it's not guaranteed. The doctor told you 3-6 months to manage your expectations as that's how long it typically takes for people to notice growth. If he told you 1-2 months then you'd be bummed for a few months if it did not start yet; but if he tells you 3-6 months and you see a difference in 2, you're happy. Simple as that.
  5. I hope that by well-known, you didn't mean Bosley or MHR because they're terrible. Which doctor did you go to?
  6. You ought to be seeing *something* by 5.5 months; heck, a lot of people have lots of growth by then. If you don't see a significant difference in another 2 months then chances are something went wrong.
  7. Lol Joe, you are certainly buff... almost too buff, it looks like a genetic experiment gone awry But how is the hair looking?
  8. Keep it up Sett & you should have a body you're happy with for next summer
  9. Ok, this is the second time this troll has posted an ad for his snake oil. Can we get a ban here?
  10. nobuzz, to be fair, I have to say that some people do not achieve any measurable results from finasteride, either - which doesn't disprove its effectiveness.
  11. He reminds me of Christian Troy from Nip/Tuck, minus the looks.
  12. Don't get him a HT at 21, when he's just starting to lose his hair. If hairloss continues he'll be left with a hairline and nothing behind it, and then he'll have to get another HT. And then, eventually, he'll run out of donor hair and really realize what unhappiness is. Get him on medication, wait 10 years, then revisit the topic.
  13. Here's a front pic at 4.5 months - I had 3,300 grafts transplanted by Dr. Feller to the front 1/2. I'd love some comments - personally, I'm happy so far. It's quite a difference from before. You should be able to find my before picture in a gallery I posted here... I'll redo it all at some point with photobucket pictures, but for now this will have to do.

  15. Joe, I believe Gorpy was talking about the first few weeks post op. The scar will be an angry shade of red, and it will be very visible with a buzzed head. It's just the nature of the beast, fresh scars. After a few months he will look wonderful and the scar will be difficult to detect even when looked for. With a clinic of H&W's caliber and the skill of the docs there, that's never really been under dispute. However, dallas asked whether he can continue shaving his head until 4 months post op, which to me says he wasn't aware of the scar. So he deserved a heads up
  16. folica, his blog is at http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=327
  17. The link to his blog is http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=151 Undercover - looking great at 6.2 months. The final result should be awesome once it thickens up a little. Right now it does look a little thin, which I'm sure will improve with time. How many grafts did you have planted?
  18. Which is why we're all telling you to grow out 1/2" of hair before having surgery After all, the hair to be redistributed on your head has to come from somewhere, dosn't it?
  19. The only one that can answer the question of whether you're getting FUT or FUE is you and your doc. Email him and I'm quite sure you will know within hours Obvious scarring/scabs on your head outside the strip scar? No, most likely none as you're going to a top notch doctor. Also, the strip scar will be very hard to detect after about 6-10 months so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Bottom line is, if you get a HT you lose the option to shave your head. For most, this is a decent tradeoff since folks get HTs because they DON'T want to shave their heads
  20. It isn't feasible - you will have a scar on the back of your head (in the donor area) and for the first few months, it will be angry red as it's healing. You'll want to grow your hair out a bit to cover the scar at first. But it's all worth in the end
  21. You get laid more as you get older. Believe me, if you do this now you'll probably be ready to hang yourself in the bathroom at 31. Jessica Alba's 26. Eva Mendes is 33. Do you really want to risk an unsightly scar right below your hairline when you're of age to be getting girls like that?
  22. AHS is a vicious little company from everything I've heard about them. They sell wigs at 4x or more markup, and it seems like they don't give refunds; you have to sue them to get your money back. They also sell Minoxidil for a few thousand pounds and shine some laser lights on your head, then claim it'll regrow hair. Minoxidil is the only part that works and one could pick it up for $20 bucks over the couner It looks like their damage control shills are on the ball, though.
  23. Do you fire an architect because he doesn't place every brick himself?
  24. Me? I'd recommend going for a consult with Dr. Feller. But bear in mind that I'm not objective, he did my HT and it's turning out great so I may be influenced by that
