So I am about to do a cleanse which requires castor oil and while searching for a good brand too use I have noticed quite a few posts on this for hair regrowth. Before and afters and all.
Snake oil? Does anyone know if there is a science behind this?

congrats shifty. I’ve had a similar improvement. check out my thread if you want.
my hair has gotten significantly better after 3 months. However, since month 5 I have been shedding a lot. I’ve read this is normal but it makes me a bit nervous cause i have definitely noticed less density. I’m coming up on 7 total months of use and the shedding is still going
I remember, I commented on it. I would add the other things I am doing in conjunction to assist in blood flow specifically derma roller and I also blast my head with ice cold water about twice a week. I did see a little shedding about a month ago, I noticed a chunk of hair in the shower drain but since has been smooth sailing.

Shifty,
I went back to the previous page and saw that you did post some hairline pictures as well. I also went through all the progress photos. You certainly have responded very well to these three nonsurgical treatments known as the big three. At this point, it seems like you’re still seeing improvement, at least in the crown every couple of months. If I’m correct, you posted a photo from November 2018 and another photo just recently of the crown and the most recent photo shows even more progress. So in my opinion, if that’s true, I would hold off on any hair transplantation in the crown and only consider hitting the hairline area if you feel it’s appropriate. I know you said that you had a naturally higher forehead so, you could slightly lower your hairline with surgical hair restoration and then continue using the big three for the rest of the scalp.
I saw your photos with Toppik in your hair also and it looked great. Concealers ken the wonder to make your hair look thicker.
I will likely be using this thread as a reference for the future to show what is possible with non-surgical solutions if you go the distance. Of course, my disclaimer will be that you are one of the rare cases and most people don’t see this kind of results but that it is possible.
Please keep us posted on your progress and decision regarding hair transplantation.
Billl
If this continues, as is, I agree HT might not be necessary, but as I have said about the high forehead I may still lower it. My front is growing in as well so who knows! I will continue to update every 26th of the month. if my crown fills its going to be like winning the lotto. It has already bumped my confidence levels as is.
I just want to say, while I have tried Rogaine before with no results by itself and knew about Finesteride, I do not think I would have went this route if it had not been for this forum. So while I can appreciate where I am now only 4 months later on the big three plus a couple other things, the thing I need to appreciate more is the knowledge and experience of the people who post here. So kudos to you for creating it.

Belated merry Christmas all and happy holidays. Today is 3 month mark for Finesteride with added 1% Ketoconazole shampoo and derma rolling and Rogaine added along the way as well as my regular vitamins and such. Pictures taken this morning. (up close temporal is left side to show hairs growing as this was the weakest side)
Let me know what you think. Thoughts on crown filling in more?
Today is month 4 to the day that I started Finesteride while adding other products along the way. Hope these help!
I think it is going very well. Got a haircut yesterday for first time in a long time, the owners had me write down what i was using they were fairly shocked.
I will comb hair and use product and take pics with hair styled tomorrow
NO PRODUCT IN HAIR STRAIGHT OUT OF SHOWER WITH USE OF A BLOW DRYER
THIS IS TEMPORAL AREA. OBVIOUSLY PLENTY OF MORE HAIRS GROWING

@baldlivesmatter Did you tell either of these girls about the transplant? lol

Stuff works wonders, I am seeing similar results (but also using and doing other things in conjunction) which I am documenting in my own post. I think like most meds you have to stay on it to continue benefits so at some point you'll have to decide weather its worth it or not. I personally do not want to be taking this forever o we shall see. Maybe at some point discontinue daily and take weekly or something like that. The issue with meds is the longer you use the more the chance of side effects.
Enjoy it while it lasts! as far as hair falling out that's normal.

Great progress man, the edges of your crown are really improving 🙌🏼
Thanks, month 3 was really significant. I have been religious with this and will not stop the train while its rolling so well.

@Shifty No reason man! All looks great. Just where I noticed the most improvement. Looks like you're seeing growth all over too.
Just bookmarked this thread. Keep us posted buddy. A lot of guys considering meds would benefit from this. Maybe even throw up some video too. That would be cool.
Thanks for the vote of confidence! I will 100% update every 26th of the month. As for video I wouldn't know where to begin.

1800 grafts seems way light for this guy to begin with. He still has a few months to grow so who knows. The mistake here imo is the amount of grafts used.
The doctor should post donor area before after as well. .
My first consultation was with a doctor who used the Artas. I was underwhelmed.

Nice! You're seeing some awesome progress buddy. Keep it up 🙂
100% things are thickening up towards the front and crown. Will be interesting to see how things turn out in 12 months. Thanks for keeping us up-to-date.
No problem hoping someone can get somethign out of this if they are iffy about an HT. I am pretty happy about the progress so far.
6 hours ago, HairLossMentor said:Save your money. It's the big three. Rogaine, Propecia, Nizoral. And if you have the budget, PRP... But that's only to thicken vellus hairs and prevent hair loss because it keeps hair in the growth phase. Is not required though. The big three will do the trick. If you go the PRP route, make sure is five times concentrate.
I hear iffy things about PRP..
Why are you pointing out the certain areas of my progress? Any particular reason? this is the most recent.

You are having some very good progress for only a few months. Since you've only been doing this for 3 months (is that correct?) then I think there will be further improvements over the next 3 to 6 months.
Today is exactly 3 months (started Sept 26) for Finesteride. I started derma rolling 10/18 not sure when I started Rogaine, was about a month or so after fin. I also started the keto shampoo mid November.

**there are quite a few vellus hairs in the temporal area, and I do believe these are becoming terminal, anyone care to correct me if this is not possible considering my age/hair loss?
You cannot see them in the photos but in the right light I can, they are getting longer.

2 month mark doing the above religiously. 2 months in I've seen 2 marketable differences.
1) thicker hair
2) new growth
The last pic is an upclose of the left temple area where there was zero hair before starting finesteride in September and the rest after. If you cannot see them there are small hairs growing all over the pace. This is happening on the right and starting to happen in the front of my hair line as well. Not easy to notice but in person they are very noticeable. Praying this is happening on crown as well. i just cant see or photo it because of angle.
I dont notice as much difference in the crown, which sucks because its what I am cognizant of the most, but an upclose shows some progress. (last 2 pics)

Hope this helps someone out there.
