  1. I'm sure I will remain ugly after the process but as long as my hair looks good, I'm good!
  2. Looks horrible and by ' horrible', I mean great. I'm 7 weeks today post-op and I am in the same situation (also went to Eugenix in mid-October). My recipient area is still quite red (like yours) and so it's nice to compare timelines and outcomes at this point in the process. This stage has definitely had me doubting the success of the surgery but seeing someone else coming from the same clinic within the same timeframe helps to provide some much needed perspective. Good luck and keep us updated.

  4. Congratulations @Domino. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out for you.
  5. I'm following this thread with great interest. I haven't seen enough patient results to make a comment on a failed surgery vs irregular and slow growth. Some parts of the HT for @Frustrated were clearly successful such as the hairline. But wouldn't that suggest that growth of the new transplants are just spread out over a longer time period rather than graft failure in some areas?
  6. I watched the video of the surgery and was pretty impressed with how efficient the surgeon and the tech with the clicker worked when doing the slits. I'm assuming that the tech is tracking the number of slits so that they know the exact amount of extractions to take?
  7. But as other members have pointed out, you are heading towards an advanced stage of hairloss with very little scalp donor available which makes it more challenging to find a clinic which will take on your case.
  8. You can check with Dr. Rahal to see if they are willing to take on the procedure. Dr. Rahal is based out of Ottawa which is more convenient to where you live.
  9. @sharkman Since James was mentioned in the correspondence from H&W, I am wondering if you live in the Toronto area?
  10. I also asked Dr. Sethi a couple of weeks ago about doing HT on SMP. He has done a number of cases with existing SMP and has no issues with it.
  11. Not sure why they turned me down. As you mentioned, there is no health-related reason why a HT can't be done over SMP. Other HT surgeons have no problem doing hair restoration work on a scalp with SMP. When I consulted with reps from H&W and Rahal, they passed along that the docs would prefer I remove the SMP prior to seeking out a HT with them.
  12. That's not necessarily true. Some well-known HT docs (looking at you Hasson/Wong and Rahal) refused me a HT because I had SMP. Y OP, if you are considering SMP before a HT, you may want to check with a few surgeons that would be on the top of your list if they would still do the HT.
  13. I didn't read the study but it seems ground-breaking since it links the stress hormone and hair follicle development. The next gen will have a lot more options to stop hairloss with on-going treatments (more effective topicals). This is great for the young guys going bald early (probably due to too much stress!) since their options, including hair transplants, are sub-optimal. Also great for women with thinning hair since their current choices are also sub-optimal.
  14. If you're going to claim a tort against someone, you should just proceed with litigation. But if you take the trouble to post anonymously on an online forum with the name of the person who wronged you as your username, then you are more likely blowing off steam. Post your pics and let the members here judge for themselves.
  15. Not at all a surprise given their excellent pre and post op client care, transparency, accountability, dedication to public education and outstanding consistency in their surgical outcomes.
  16. Mine was erythema, not inflammation, but the derm treated it like atopic dermatitis so prescribed the cream. It did not go away but don't conflate my case with yours - you might have success with tacrolimus for your condition.
  17. I was prescribed pimecrolimus cream a few years back by a dermatologist to see if it helped with my erythema from my SMP. It didn't do much for me but I hope your script helps with the inflammation for you.
  18. This. Don't return to any doctor or clinic that fell short of your expectations. Perhaps you can provide us with more info, such as pics pre and post transplant from 2016, how many grafts, any meds you are on, age, etc. They would help other members analyze why you may have lost most of your gains from the HT.
  19. I'm assuming you mean the clinic? haha They will probably outgrow their new clinic before it's even built.
  20. @nodonoThanks for the write-up. I also had to ask for some more anasthesia at one point because the extractions were becoming excruciating, particularly one area of my donor. Towards the end of my second day, when I thought everything was near wrapping up, I heard the techs talking excitedly. I guess that they did not match up the number of extractions to the number of pre-made slits so, next thing I know, more anasthesia was being applied and more extractions were being taken. But I don't think that they quite put in enough meds into my scalp because I could feel some discomfort and then at one point, more pain than discomfort. I asked to take a 5-minute break and requested some more anasthesia to which they readily complied. The rest of the surgery was completed without any issues. As for discomfort in the donor area, you could have some lingering discomfort for a while so don't be worried. And when I say discomfort, I just mean that you will be aware that the area is not 100% healed. Even after almost 5 weeks post-HT, I can still a very light sensation in my donor region. It's not a bad feeling - I sleep fine on it, sleep on it, run water in the shower on it. It's just a lingering reminder that there was a lot of local trauma in the area and it takes time to completely heal.
  21. Haha - well consider it announced! Seriously, congrats on being just a couple of weeks out.
  22. @Razmi sorry, can you clarify that those pics you provided of your shaved scalp were recent pics?
