I can't believe this transformation. This might have just swayed me to go with H&W FUT instead of FUE...
It seems like their scars are truly undetectable... can anyone back this up?
Also a general FUT question... how do surgeons know how many grafts they'll be getting from the strip? is it a general density per cm2 and then multiply by the length of the strip..?
will be looking more into H&W. thanks for the post!

any pics of the donor site?

good lucky matty. i’m following your case and looking into Gable as well for my HT. don’t sweat the small stuff. many people seem to worry in the first 1-3 months and then have a homerun 5 months later. i understand the concern though. i would feel the same lol. easier said than done

looks like excellent work. do you have an idea of how many grafts were used for the hairline and how many were placed in the vertex? from my research 2000 would be stretching it for a hairline like that.
also- how long ago did you book with Konior?
thanks!

This is an especially stunning result for a patient with diffuse loss.
awesome result. is there any concern about losing the native hairs and him going back to what he originally was like?
or is he on fin

any update to this? I agree the # of grafts sounds really low for that amount of coverage... but then again the pics he posted 6months out seem amazing...

FUT - H&W or Hattingen for bigger cases, Rahal for smaller Cases
FUE - Erdogan for bigger cases, Couto or Feriduni for mid size, Heitmann or Kaan for small cases
Konoir somehow was not on my radar. Have to check him out.
Arocha and Lorenzo for diffuse thinning have my Attention too.
Puuh, it is complicated...
Never heard of Konoir before now too. I can't seem to find many recent reviews by him, but I do agree everything I see is good.

I have no idea what you are talking about.. I am not Jacques lol
I came across them in my very early days of research (before i found this forum). When I got on this forum I couldn't find anything about them so I decided to ask the community...
I'm not being promotional by any means... Just supplying the information

I haven’t seen many of his result but will definitely look into him. How much does he usually charge per graft? I understand this shouldn’t be a deciding factor but i’m just curious

Norwood 4-5. Gun to your head. You can only pick 1 surgeon to deliver a full head of hair.
Who do you choose and why?

they say usually 100 hairs fall out per day

you look great. i wish i had your hair

Since your balding/thinning extends back into the crown you will require more than that graft amount for a full restoration.
I would therefore concentrate on the hairline and frontal third with roughly that graft amount (trying to cover the entire area in one pass will require much more grafts and would be best left for a second pass.)
Since you have lost most of your hairline as you stated, dense packing a newly drawn hairline would be optimal about the same height as your current hairline height or maybe even lower a tad bit. This would give you a densely framed hairline and then the doc will be able to fill in the area behind this. The reason I mention a tad lower is so that they can dense pack aggressively without you worrying about "losing" your current hairline which may make you hesitate psychologically, and it also makes the dense packing easier if done into virgin scalp. You can discuss the actual height with your surgeon.
For density approach in terms of grafts/cm2 read this as a reference.
You want to address zones A and B as mentioned in the article.
<from Dr. Lorenzo a world renown FUE surgeon>
Your donor looks fairly decent so I don't think a clinic will reject you but at least give Fin a try after researching about the possible side effects.
As someone who experienced a failed transplant years ago (at Bosley) I don't fuck around with iffy type of recommendations, go with Erdogan or another elite world-class surgeon.
The other surgeon may produce some nice results but is more known for cheap price than elite level type of results.
good luck in your research
awesome article about density. thanks a ton hsrp10

Here's a 3 week update as i'll be travelling for the next 2 weeks. All crusts disappeared at the 2 week mark and I have entered shedding. Mentally prepared to hate what's coming!
good luck. I'll be following your case.

Hi everyone. I am in the early stages of planning for a hair transplant. I would like the community's suggestion on technique, doctors, approach, etc...
I was planning on FUE and possibly Erdogan in Turkey. I want to be able to keep my hair short and don't want to risk a scar. The scalp is definitely thin, but I guess I can cover more of it when my hair grows out longer. My hairline is pretty much gone and the vertex is thin. And I know I should get on finasteride ASAP.
Can I get this all done in 1 go do you think? I've been quoted at 3000-3500 grafts from Dr. Cinik in Turkey, but I am still leaning towards Erdogan.

Some quick thoughts here based on my experience:
If you go with Erdogan you are going to 100% have to shave your entire head (donor area and recipient both).
Just want to put this out there as for some people (like myself) there is not enough downtime to do this with work etc. This is even for smaller procedures.
For my last procedure in a limited area Erdogan and ASMED was in my final list, but I excluded them as I could not afford the long downtime.
Other clinics (Bisanga, Konior) will agree to a mohawk type of buzz cut for FUE where the donor is shaved and then only the immediate recipient area.
For diffused thinning I would dense pack into a slightly lowered hairline just below your current one - I'm saying this without seeing any of your pics which is not ideal but it's easier to dense pack into virgin scalp than it is in between existing hairs.
And concentrate on boosting the hairline and frontal third as your first goal.
As for H&W I would research their work here on this forum and choose the surgeon whose results matches your desired situation - which one produces amazing results in cases of diffused thinning patients.
My favorite of the two overall is Dr. Hasson who I believe excels at dense hairlines while Wong is more of a master at crown work.
And is H&W a proven FUE leader yet? I'm not sure yet and have only seen a limited number of FUE cases from them at this point..
Also have you actually been examined by a hair restoration surgeon yet or sent in photos?
Some clinics may reject patients if they demonstrate advanced balding/thinning and are not on Propecia for maintenance, especially if the donor is very thin and sparse.
Oh and as for your second choice for Turkish doctor I would skip him as the only people I see making him their first choice are those who are trying to save a buck.
I had seen some not ideal cases on here as well and I don't have the time to read each and every post but my researched opinion is that he should not be among your finalist list.
HDC and Dr. Maras produce more consistent work at fairly affordable prices for example.
Thanks for the reply. A lot of good info/suggestions in there.
I've attached a couple photos of my head. I'm looking for suggestions here. 1 doctor (Cinik) suggested 3000-3500 grafts. Starting at the hairline and building that strong, then working the way back to the crown.
I'd obviously like to go about this correctly and possibly address it all in 1 go. I understand I should get on fin and be prepared that my native hairs will keep thinning.

are there any concerns with having a transplant for diffused thinning? my hairline has receded but there is even thinning from front to back. how do doctors plant around the hair that is still there? I'm sure theres transection when they make the donor holes?
I've read about permanent shock loss and obviously wouldnt want that to happen.

Hey Lukey. I'll definitely be following your case. I am considering Dr. Cinik so please keep us updated!

Hi everyone. I have been lurking on these forums for some time now and decided to make an account.
I have even thinning throughout my scalp (from receding hairline, to mid-scalp, to vertex). I am not on finasteride because I'm nervous about side effects but would be willing to try in the future. I have contacted a few doctors and have been quoted 3000-3500 grafts.
I'm from the United States and am currently looking at doctors (Cinik, Erdogan, H&W, Diep, Alexander, etc...).
1) Is there a reason Dr. Cinik is not recommended by this website? All the reviews/cases I have seen from him seem excellent.
2) For H&W - do you get to choose which doctor does your procedure? They seem to be mainly FUT. I have not seen many large scale FUE procedures by them. Are they a reputable FUE option for 3000+ grafts?
My favorite option is Dr. Erdogan due to his results, KEEP tactic, and relatively good price compared to FUE in the states. Dr. Cinik is a close 2nd behind him.
Thanks for the responses in advanced!
