  1. Something I am thinking about - why does it matter how big the punches are? Each punch will extract a graft (1/2/3/4 hair graft) so no matter who you go to you will have the same issue - a certain number of grafts will be gone and your ability to wear your hair shorter will be affected the same? The only issue I see is if a doctor doesn't distribute the extractions randomly and evenly across the whole donor, but the size of the punch shouldn't matter.
  2. @WS2020 - his work looks very very reasonable so you didn't make a mistake. It might not be perfect in some cases but that is fixable. Please report back what he did regarding the donor and hairline design, like the single hairs in front! Good luck!
  3. @WS2020 - good luck, I hope you post your results here! When did you schedule the surgery, mine was scheduled 11 months out FUE or FUT/how many grafts/what norwood scale are you?
  4. @jimcraig152 - your donor looks pretty ok now don't you think? Plus I don't really see the corn rows any more - never saw them in your case actually to be honest. The density could be better but it's been only 4 months, you're too early, and the density is something we all agree Diep does a good job on.
  5. Urgh this thread is a handful. I am VERY afraid of the baby-doll hairs and scarred donor, but also Dr. Diep had pretty good results in the past and looks like he produces a huge yield consistently so it's very hard to say, clearly there were some bad results recently. I am following very closely. Who else should I look at? I am ok with losing the $1000. Hasson&Wong? Who has consistent results/good donor and natural hairline?
  6. I am sure 4000 is better but what about the future loss, do you not anticipate much further loss?
  7. Your hairloss wasn't that extensive, why 4000 grafts and all of it in the frontal third, it seems a little too much too soon? Looks great and dense fwiw!
  8. EDIT: I am a Caucasian male which seems very important for hairline design! In our conversation he said that bigger punches secure higher survival rate, I can't remember if he said he would use 1mm but that's how he justified it (and he explained why - there is a higher risk of cutting the root off with smaller punches). To me it made sense, but true I don't want to butcher my donor area. As for the corn rows - @Tentpole91had a pretty bad case here and I'd like to avoid that. However the end results and the yields seem impressive for Dr. Diep. Not sure how to process this overall, who has a comparable yield and higher success rate/better donor? I considered Parsa Mohebi but Dr. Diep's results seem better. @jimcraig152 answers below: What NW scale are you? Looks like I am heading towards NW5 A, so vertex is not affected but the top looks like it's going further than NW4. Currently though I would cover the frontal third. Who did you book your surgery with? Dr. Diep How many grafts have been estimated for you? He said 2300 FUT or FUE? FUE How old are you? 35 What is the price per unit for your procedure? 19k I guess?
  9. This honestly looks pretty good given that it's only 3 been months. Could be that finasteride is playing a role too. Exited to see where you'll be in 3-6 months. However, you are describing your experience as way too harsh in my opinion. Could be that Dr. Diep could have done a better job in certain aspects, and I don't know enough to claim one way or the other but you haven't gotten the final result yet and you're making bold claims that he butchered you for good. Critique is good and thank you for this thread but I scheduled a surgery for next year and reading through this I can't tell if I made a mistake or not. The tone of it makes me think maybe I did but reading the details makes me think that you just have a different opinion on how to go about stuff. Wish there was a more objective take.
  10. I have to admit that the result looks awesome! Great work! > FYI: Dr. Mohebi estimates that I have 4000 scalp grafts plus 2000 beard grafts to use. Is that what you have right now after the first procedure, or what you had before you embarked on the journey?
  11. Looks great man, it looks like the sides are very short, how short are they? Are the scars noticeable? Can you post a pic with just the sides?
  12. @HairThereAndEverywhere What did Dr Mohebi tell you when you went for a consultation? Did he tell you what is your potential (eventual) Norwood level? Also did he advise you as to what to work on in your first HT? It looks like maybe you could/should have done more more this time, at the very least you could have gone more behind the hairline and the doctor should have advised you to do that. Looking at your before pics, I don't really see the problem with your hairline to be honest.
  13. I can't tell if you have less hair now than in the pre-op pictures. What do you think? As in, do you think that you had some shock loss?
  14. Hm ... it does seem better but not 3000 grafts better. Why don't you want to share the Doctor's name? It can help those of use who might be considering that doctor. Can you at least say what area is he from?
  15. What about Parsa Mohebi - he seems very professional and with a lot of good results? Also what about Jae Pak or Willian Rassman?
  16. Great results so far! Also dude you look pretty damn good with the shaved head (NO HOMO lol) However, even at 3+ months I can see the scar. It was definitely very noticeable 2 months in (at least in the pictures). That's what makes me very anxious about doing a HT - looks like I will have to wear a hat for the first 3 months.
  17. It didn't look like you were losing any hair in the front or anywhere except the crown, but when you shaved it, it does show way more, looks like the whole top is thinning. You're making great progress, please keep us updated! p.s. I am also considering Dr. Mohebi soon!
  18. Kpat, this looks really good for 5 months (and as other people said, it gets better in the next few months)! Congrats. I am also considering Dr Diep and stories like these assure me that he is a good choice.
