  1. Probably a panic attack. Very unpleasant.

It was. I am currently on meds for it. My blood pressure rose very high during this incident as well. I usually take my blood pressure and it was not a good reading.

But I really do not understand how something like that can happen since I try very hard to take care of my hair. Needless to say i also had a dental x-ray done about 3 - 4 weeks ago. I wonder if the hair shedding has something to do with it.

  2. I try my very best to shampoo my hair each and every day. If I do not then I wash the next day. Mind you, I never see any hair strands in the drain, ever. But today after I shampooed my hair in the morning I look down at the drain and to my great astonishment I saw a clump of my own hair. I pick it up and count the strands. To my amazement I count 14 hair strands! Again I never shed any strands in the shower. I thought I was going to get a heart attack as I began to tremor all over my body and throat. I then got angry with more tremors.

This is ridiculous. On another thread I created someone mentioned that man on average sheds 100 hairs a day. But this is inexcusable as I do my best to take care of my scalp. I very rarely shed hair. This is inexcusable in my opinion given my personal hair care.

Could you guys relate? I swear to goddamned god I am going literally crazy over this. What are your thoughts on this?

  3. Yeah, over-harvesting and zero planning for the patient's future were among his trademarks which garnered him a bad reputation.

I think the best overall patient experience can be had with a Konior procedure. He's actually not the densest transplanting surgeon out there and often does more with less grafts. But his artistic touch and meticulous attention to detail cannot be beat. He's both a master and a machine at the same time.

It's hard to book a surgery date with him these days though and the cost especially for FUE is rather high, which are his only two drawbacks.

Erdogan is in my top 3 pics, not a big fan of the techs doing a lot of the heavy work (they do both the extractions and graft placement there) but the results speak for themselves I guess and haven't seen any or many poor cases from them.

I will state my opinion that I've never been a huge fan of Feller but have high hopes for Blake and his future work.

I'm intrigued by Dr. Keser btw but as there are not many published results out there so there is some potential risk if choosing him due to the unknowns.

    Hello hsrp10,

I am honestly very confused as to which doctor to see about a potential hair transplant. To me 50 grafts/cm2 is not enough. That would create a see-through look. I would like 70 grafts/cm2 though. Maybe you can help me decide if you do not mind.

Looking forward to hearing from you about this!

  4.

This is an open internet forum, and not a closed conversation between you and a few users, when I reply I'm also thinking of the better good that is in my message for others.

I've had procedures with Dr. Hasson, Dr. Konior, Dr. Bisanga and a failed procedure at Bosley, and have no intention of uploading all of my before/afters or even more images at this stage of the game.

My only purpose here is to give back to the community and help those out there from being wronged during the hair restoration journey.

    good luck to you

    Good enough. Thank you sir.

  5. Currently there are only three ways to restore hair: transplant surgery, Finasteride and minoxidil.

    The rest is just bullshit.

However on the flip side if you over worry about your hairloss you could actually lose more hair due to stress.

    Hello hsrp10,

Appreciate the comment. But I would like to think that there may be a metaphysical way of controlling or regrowing hair.

I checked your profile but I only saw one photo of yours that happened to be post-op. Could you post your before and after photos? I am interested in Doctor Konior whom I have researched with great interest. I would appreciate that please. Thank you.

  6. A couple of months ago I was reading up on the power of the subconscious mind and its potential to change one's circumstances and physical limitations. Much of this comes from teachings of LOA or the Law of Attraction philosophy. Examples of this involve people who have cured themselves of cancer and other diseases through faith or strong altered consciousness. Another case involved a girl who bled through the palm of her hands in the form of a cross. This case I am sure has nothing to do with religion but rather her powerful subconscious belief that made her bleed that way. In like manner I want to know if this same spiritual science can be applied to regrowing hair.

I am seriously thinking of using subconscious power exercises to possibly regrow my hair. Has anyone tinkered around with this stuff before? Could this really work?

  7. That and Minoxidil are the only FDA approved drugs that halt hairloss.

I have seen no one come on here and talk about those drugs you want. If they worked you would think it would be an oft-discussed topic.

    '.

Yes I understand. But the Yale studies confirm that the drugs have shown to regrow hair. And yes I know they are not FDA stamped. Importantly, I want to piont out that there are drugs that are prescribed by doctors for off-the-shelf use. That is why I wanted to know if such drugs could also be used as off-the-shelf for regrowing hair.

  8. At the end you do what you want to do. You want to compare finasteride to Jakafi? I am not a doctor and just gave my opinion. Good luck whatever you decide.

Where did I compare finasteride to Jakafi? I am just asking for your additional opinion. You copy and pasted side effects info which I have read before creating this thread. But you do not go into further detail about my inquiry.

  9. During my BMT I seen patients on Jakafi and its not pleasant. You honestly would risk low blood count and possible of bad infections. Low blood counts mean you would need an transfusion. With respect you are insane to use this for hairloss. Any doctor that would prescribe this to you should lose his license.

Jakafi can cause serious side effects, including:

    .

But the side effects are no different from potentially those of other meds that drug companies warn about. It is standard warning across all meds. I completely understand what you are trying to relay to me. But what of those patients who partook in the long term study? They regrew hair and they must have experienced some side effects. But not to the extent that you are describing. What are your thoughts on that?

  10. Been looking online for some help in the way of regrowing hair. Interestingly I came upon a study launched by Yale that found that an arthritis drug called Xeljanz can regrow hair. Another drug called Jakafi aimed for cancer patients was also able to regrow hair. Desperately I want to get my hands on these meds. Would it be possible for a doctor to prescribe these for baldness even through theyre not targeted for baldness? Perhaps they might prescribe it as an off the shelf prescription?

If all else fails do you think I may get these drugs online without a prescription? Say from a pharmacy in Canada?

  11. milo12,

Billyeoman is right, losing 50 to 100 hairs a day is the norm. Thus, hair in the shower drain isn't necessarily an indication of hair loss.

If you think you're losing your hair and no visible signs of hair loss are showing yet, you could always visit a dermatologist/trichologist to have them look at your scalp/hair under magnification. They can look for signs of miniaturization and let you know whether or not hair loss has started.

    l

    Hello Bill,

Thank you for the great suggestion. It will be followed. Good luck to you.

  12. As mentioned 50 to 100 is normal per day. I have had much more than this when I washed my hair more. I found that cutting back on washing it has helped actually. I just do light rinsing in between washing.

    Hello billyeoman,

The problem with shampooing for me is that I cannot go a day without it. If I do my hair becomes greasy. Ironic enough when I do wash every day I notice less hair falling out. It is a catch 22 if you ask me.

  13. Would just like to add that achieving a 50% density level of original scalp density is a good goal to start with.

    Hello gillenator,

I need to ask you two important questions:

Do you think it is possible to achieve 70 - 80% of original density? Are there actual cases of patients with such density?

I was told by a surgeon that he can give me 30% more hair. Do you think it is possible to get a bit more? If so how much do you think without invoking shock?

The thing about women is that many wear their hair length longer and generally speaking, they also are more talented with styling their hair in ways that can hide a lot of thinning.

Now may make sense. But I still notice women's hair transplants having denser hair than men's.

  14. No, I am not. In my procedure Acell was used as a 'holding solution' when the grafts were out of body. That was it - I believe the Acell assisted in the healing process after they grafts were placed but it in no way improved my density or coverage.

I have had 2 procedures, one with and one without Acell and I experienced no shock loss in either case.

Well in any case you have an excellent result.

  15. Hello Bill,

I am as confused as you are. I really do not know what he is talking about either. But I already reported him.

But Bill, It was good receiving your commentary on this thread. Actually I do not know if hair in the drain could be considered a good indicator of hair loss. I know one loses about 100 hairs a day. But we never see it. Would you think it is likely that hair drain is a good indicator - or the only indicator - nonetheless?

  16.

Wow, 70s/80s is huge, I thought the norm was 50-55. I believe Erdogan was aiming for 55 FU/cm2 with mine.

    Hello JustJax,

You and JT are looking good so far. JustJax could you provide a link to your hair progress? Tried looking but cannot find it.

70/80 grafts is a lot. But I mentioned this before in another thread that the norm is 40 grafts per cm. How many patients can actually grow on 70/80? That is something worth researching.

I'm somewhat concerned about Turk doctors despite their seemingly good work. Their work looks good but I wonder if they overdo it to the point where it becomes risky to the patient's hair growth.
